The Queen is under 'medical supervision'

The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace says.

"Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision," they said in a statement.

"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

Her immediate family has been informed.

The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, with doctors advising her to rest.

Breaking news BBC

We very much hope she is okay, it made me feel sad to read this. I think the line her immediate family have been informed was a worrying line.

Huw Edwards is the 'top man'. Does all the big stuff - Philip's funeral, royal weddings etc. He's not normally sitting around on a weekday afternoon

She’s the Queen, she can have ponies in her palace if she wants I suppose! Two trailer loads with two ponies each, first trailer appeared to be her two favourites.

I know far too much about royal ponies it would seem

I just read a story about the Highlands she breeds - beautiful. Nice that her maj is a supporter of native breeds.

Absolutely loving the juxtaposition of 'it's distasteful for the BBC to be at the gates of BP' to dozens of people on here literally tracking the movements of imminently bereaved family members.

and ponies.

Has it been confirmed she's actually dying ? Seeing on the news people are gathering outside balmoral and buckinghsm palace, seems abit premature I think given that it's only been said she's under medical supervision.
Don't mean that to sound in anyway nasty btw, will of course be sad for the uk, just don't know if anything's been confirmed

😁 yep jimmy "nothing" is happening.

They’re bringing them up to the castle in trailers. I did hope they would, they’ll be a comfort to hers

How so? They'll hardly be taking the ponies up to her bedroom. I think more likely as pp says they are being brought in because of the weather or something else very banal.

Maybe Harry and Meghan are hiding in the trailers, to avoid the ghouls.

NC for obvious reasons.

My team was recently asked to do some work in relation to the Queen's funeral.

We were told it was top secret and higher ups wanted it done urgently, but also told that we shouldn't speculate on reasons why, claming that they simply review their plans, suppliers and quotes every year.

We completed the work two weeks ago and have been trying in vain to get a hold of someone for feedback and to check they are happy with it. No word. Nada. Which is annoying as they were emailing or phoning us daily for a status update. My team were saying to each other FFS we are working as hard and as fast as we can, and suspicous that it wasn't just an annual review like they said.

The Palace doesn't comment on the Queen's health, as it is a private matter. To make that comment at all means she may not survive.

Plus, for her children to make a sudden dash to be with her shows it is serious

Oh good for you but it’s very easy to feel sad for people you don’t know personally or who you’ve never met. 🙄

@NovaDeltas being able to empathise with other humans is what makes us human. Without the ability to 'be sad' about a stranger no one would ever give to charity, take in refugees etc

Thank goodness Johnson has been replaced. I'm no fan of Truss but I'm sure she'll be neat and tidy for any announcements.

And she won't try and be all Churchillian about it . I don't like any of the Tories but at least she's not doing everything with an eye to her legacy and future book deals .

They would never spell it out like that. At the very least, it's obviously a strong possibility, considering that all her family have rushed to be there. We wouldn't even know anything about it if it wasn't serious.

Yes, I noticed that. He's the only person referring to "is" rather than "was"

He's being very careful to stick to facts and what is known. There is no point acting as if she has passed until we have been told she has passed.

Given the fact that Huw Edward has been called in and has his black suit on and the fact that all the family have flown up, it’s very clearly not looking good at all.

No they haven't said those specific words but given her whole family are currently at / heading to her bedside, can you not see the outcome?
