The Queen is under 'medical supervision'

The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace says.

"Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision," they said in a statement.

"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

Her immediate family has been informed.

The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, with doctors advising her to rest.

Breaking news BBC

We very much hope she is okay, it made me feel sad to read this. I think the line her immediate family have been informed was a worrying line.

God help us this autumn and winter

Why is the Queen dying(if indeed she is) going to make it one iota worse for your average person?

Have you always been a lunatic conspiracy theorist or is it a recent change?

AnneShirleysNewDress · 08/09/2022 12:55

Charles, Camilla and William are on their way to Balmoral.

I have been preparing my children - as I did not want this to feel like another thunder bolt (like covid) in their lives. As the fallout of the Queen passing will be bigger for many people than even covid. She has been our rock, our steadfast rock in all of the troubles for so many decades, no matter what happened we always had the Queen to rely on.

I introduced the idea to the dc that the Queen wasn't well and she was getting old, and it might be her time soon. My youngest immediately asked whether they will get a day off school Confused
Every silver lining I suppose

Well, I really hope she’s ok. I live near Balmoral so have various ‘friends of friends’ who have worked there and have all spoken incredibly highly of her.

Because she is deeply admired and loved in this country and around the world maybe?

Hopefully she's alright, but it's not great if William's going. I would have thought either he or the Queen would want him to miss seeing the children after their first day at at their new school (and Louis's first ever day).

The queens wider family were well know supporters of Hitler- so that makes no sense (not that it made sense before)

She was looking very frail and different in that photo of her in front of the fire, I thought - very much like my very old granny just before she died. A certain look. I know it's bound to happen and I think it will be sooner rather than later, but I will feel very sad - she's part of an era that is disappearing.

Rely on for what? She has done jack shit for us.

LizzieSiddal · 08/09/2022 12:58

I’m so saddened to hear this, I’m not a royalist but it will be a huge shift in our country when she’s gone.

What's the Queen dying got to do with it?

She's like 96. She's had good innings. I can't be sad about someone I've never met living to that age and dying. My MIL was a similar age and it wasn't that sad.

She's had a good life, she's got to go at some point.

Most of us don't get to vote for prime minister. Why would she need our sympathy?

CanThisBe · 08/09/2022 13:00

Why is she at Balmoral? Such a long way for all the "VIPs" who need to visit . I didn't think it was a particularly favourite place of hers?

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 08/09/2022 13:00

NovaDeltas · 08/09/2022 12:48

I don't understand how anyone can 'be sad' about a stranger so distant they may as well be a character in a book.

@NovaDeltas
I'm sorry to hear you're limited in your ability to understand quite basic concepts.
