The Queen is under 'medical supervision'

The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace says.

"Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision," they said in a statement.

"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

Her immediate family has been informed.

The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, with doctors advising her to rest.

Breaking news BBC

We very much hope she is okay, it made me feel sad to read this. I think the line her immediate family have been informed was a worrying line.

That part of the world looks lovely. I can see why she likes to spend her summers there. I hope she has had a peaceful holiday.

golddustwomen · 08/09/2022 16:13

@ForTheLoveOfSleep I completely agree.

No, I am sure your fellow Meghan obsessed pls are thinking the same.

FabbyO · 08/09/2022 16:13

I don't think the Queen is in a position to record a message anymore.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 08/09/2022 16:13

Witchell wearing a blue tie, not a black one and is being slightly upbeat.

@ForTheLoveOfSleep
Because shes our queen

To the person who said that the queen was their rock in hard times, did she text or handwrite her support?

I'll never ever understand people who are like you. Just be nice to people FFS!

Yes, I noticed that. He's the only person referring to "is" rather than "was"

Vapeyvapevape · 08/09/2022 16:15

My parents received a card from the Queen for their diamond anniversary, my mum was so thrilled, she said it was amazing that the queen kept a record of everyone's wedding anniversaries ( we didn't tell her we sent a request to the palace ).

I would imagine that that is because them arriving in black would be seen as a de facto announcement that the Queen has died, and they wouldn’t want to pre-empt any official announcement.

Also, if I were dying I'd rather people didn't turn up in black to say goodbye! Time enough for that afterwards.

PlanetNormal · 08/09/2022 16:15

The small talk on that flight must have been interesting… ‘So, Andy, how’s your love life, mate?’

Tierne · 08/09/2022 16:15

OP can you start a new thread

Just listen to yourself.

I'm no monarchist but even I can see that now is not the time for nasty sniping. HM's (possible) death is not another excuse for you to put the boot into MM. The only people making it about MM, in fact, are people like you.

YesitsBess · 08/09/2022 16:15

They’re bringing in her ponies! That’s set me off.

Of course, if she's not already dead, black would inappropriate.

Good thing the other Liz has announced the energy cap freeze, so we can glue ourselves to the TV for the next few hours and potential week.

I don't understand how anyone can 'be sad' about a stranger so distant they may as well be a character in a book.

Oh good for you but it’s very easy to feel sad for people you don’t know personally or who you’ve never met. 🙄

Do you live near Balmoral? It might be because it's raining

Thank you for all of your posts - what a sad afternoon it has been. I can’t concentrate on anything

Can't concentrate either. I'm not a big royslist but I have a lot of respect for the Queen. I also think her presence for the last 70yrs as Queen has acted like a bit of an anchor for the UK. This is the end of an era and at a time when the UK is economically, socially and environmentally struggling could be destabilising. Plus the republicans who respected the Queen will not, I suspect, feel the same about Charles... so more division.

If these are her last moments I wish she could record a last message for us to hear

Jesus. The world has truly lost its mind.

In her dying moments you think she should record a message to the country??

Seriously?? Her final moments, I hope are peaceful, pain free and surrounded by her loved ones. Her final words (as with anyone) should be for her family, not strangers.

jimmyeatworld · 08/09/2022 16:18

Has it been confirmed she's actually dying ? Seeing on the news people are gathering outside balmoral and buckinghsm palace, seems abit premature I think given that it's only been said she's under medical supervision.
Don't mean that to sound in anyway nasty btw, will of course be sad for the uk, just don't know if anything's been confirmed

They’re bringing them up to the castle in trailers. I did hope they would, they’ll be a comfort to hers

RobertaFirmino · 08/09/2022 16:19

Thank goodness Johnson has been replaced. I'm no fan of Truss but I'm sure she'll be neat and tidy for any announcements.
