I have outgrown men

Before all the namalt brigade come along I'm well aware.

Thing is it's true I have outgrown the ridiculouness and childishness of men.

I'm married but even so I feel like I'd be better off alone most of the time. Nothing wrong with dh as such but I'm more able and stronger alone.

I have just been to the pub and all the women were complimentary of each other. Going with the flow. And enjoying themselves. The men were either grumpy or showing brovado. There was an incident on our table that involved new men intimidating each other and I just went home.

The thing is this isn't a table of young men. It's professionals and grown ups. I just cant be bothered with it.

None of the women got involved but it spoilt the night.

I told dh I don't have time for such pathetic behaviour.

It never ends. It doesn't matter how old or wise we become men seem to revert back to this strange behaviour.

I deal with it day in day out at my work and I simply can't be bothered. If I never had to see another man, mansplaining, dominating conversation, throwing their weight around, bravado, dick measuring, causing a scene in my life it would be too soon.

Absolutely done with it.

That sentiment (about women) has been writ large in the patriarchy for centuries.

Well, quite. And it's unacceptable.

It's unacceptable whoever it's said about.

It really is different when women say it, because of the power dynamics involved. So long as any woman is upfront about her need for no-strings sex, there cannot be the same level of damage done, compared to the hit-and-run deceptions men practice. If men do it and feel this contempt, there's a fair chance the woman will end up pregnant or assaulted, leaving aside the obvious hurt it causes.

Clearly, in an ideal world, nobody will start a relationship with someone who they fundamentally disrespect.

I might just be desensitised to the things men say about women, but even swapped round, its far from the worst thing said. One person talking about the irrelevance of the opposite sex, apart from for sex, in their own lives is fairly mild as it goes.
Not to mention, that the relative power positions held by men and women make a world of difference.
A woman says that, so what? No man is going to be harmed by it. The world's hardly going to turn around and suddenly view men as otherwise useless providers of sex.
A man saying it however is making an (albeit minor in the scheme of things) contribution to a pre existing view of women as being for the purpose of sex, a view that leads directly to our harassment and mistreatment.
There is a recent thread from a mother of a 14 year old, with contributions from other mums of teens, that show this in its stark reality. Anyone up in arms about the comments about men on here might gain some perspective by reading that.
The day my DSs come home in tears, frightened to go out because women are harassing them for sex is the day I'll start to worry about the 'unacceptable' nature of these type of posts from women. Until then, I think we have higher priorities to concern ourselves with.

As far as women are concerned all men are potential predators in any walk of life.

Women have been exploited by men since the dawn of time.

Why on earth was the creation of man so unfair, to give the physical strength to men yet the infexibility, lack of empathy and the abuse of power to them also.

It's like some crap joke.
