Queens Jubilee Concert - What a Wonderful World.

I mean, that's supposed to be a happy soulful song. She shouted it and didn't smile once. Such a shame

Yes ! We were sat here cringing at her. It also sounded flat?! Not impressed at all, she butchered an amazing song.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 04/06/2022 22:27

How to ruin a song

Spoonfulofvodka · 04/06/2022 22:28

Horrendous

chipsandpeas · 04/06/2022 22:28

she deffo wasnt the worst

baroqueandblue · 04/06/2022 22:42

Do you not think she was being (very understandably) ironic? Hmm

HintofVintagePink · 04/06/2022 22:42

Had no idea who she was. Or the 6 wives things. I’m not particularly old, but I just did not get it

WomanHere · 04/06/2022 22:42

Rod Stewart was worse, but he must be 50 years older than her. Overall the concert was good, brilliant performances from Queen, Alicia Keys and the Eurovision singer!

drpet49 · 04/06/2022 22:44

It was the worst performance of the night for me

ScootsMcHoy · 04/06/2022 22:45

She was bloody awful.

The Six wives thing is from the popular musical Six The Musical about Henry VIII's wives. It's really good.

Acceptables · 04/06/2022 22:48

She was atrocious. She was flat throughout and off key.

BelleTheBananas · 04/06/2022 22:48

The ‘Six’ song is an absolute banger but the performance was off tonight.

Celeste was unfathomable.

I enjoyed Diana but she needed to get Nile on to do I’m Coming Out or Upside Down.

It was a fantastic cover, she has an amazing voice... If not smiling during belting out that sing is an issue then.. Pffft.. That song, accompanied by Hans Zimmer was awesome with the light show. It was moving and addressed the environmental issues HM and Prince Philip and Prince Charles have close to their hearts... I thought the tone was perfect, we have a wonderful world and it is in danger.

The Andrew Lloyd Webber was also fantastic...

Better than Rod half a song then someone else's song Stewart, and other pap..

LaurieFairyCake · 04/06/2022 22:54

I loved Rod Stewart singing the Queens favourite song

If she was supposed to murder it a la we're collectively murdering our planet, then you're correct, she did a great job! Confused

ChurchlightJane · 04/06/2022 22:56

She was shocking. Totally without any stage presence or charisma. Voice out of tune. She looked like she knew it too so perhaps there was more going on her Han the viewer knew.
Her dress was lovely though.

LunaLoveFood · 04/06/2022 22:57

I think she just looked and sounded really nervous.

Lysianthus · 04/06/2022 22:57

Probably a bit 'out there' but Diana singing about a blow job is wrong on all levels. We thought that in the 80s, it was a bit cringe then. Bit for the jubilee? Wow.

FlosCampi · 04/06/2022 22:57

The musical theatre singers were all a lot better than most of the pop stars.

PeggyLeggy · 04/06/2022 22:57

I had tickets for her tour and she cancelled, something about personal issues this year so maybe something is going on in her personal life? I agree it was really flat and disappointing

Spoonfulofvodka · 04/06/2022 23:00

Possibly she couldn't hear herself? She's usually a good singer, just didn't happen for her tonight.

AngeloMysterioso · 04/06/2022 23:00

She looked- and sounded- bored shitless. The whole song was one long yawn.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 04/06/2022 23:01

I enjoyed the concert generally but thought Celeste sounded terrible, Rod could hardly hit any of the notes and Diana Ross's backing singers had to do a lot of the heavy lifting. Was also puzzled at the song choice too! 🤣

HearMeSnore · 04/06/2022 23:01

Yeah she was awful. Miserable and soulless.

Totally agree that Nile with Diana Ross would have been amazing.

I also think Sam Ryder would have been incredible doing Freddie Mercury's part instead of Adam Lambert.

PurpleButterflyWings · 04/06/2022 23:01

Agree. HIDEOUS! Shock

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 04/06/2022 23:01

Totally agree.
No emotion at all.
