Anxiety about anon Flower delivery

crazymomma93 · 18/02/2022 18:16

Long time reader, first time poster.
I suppose the AIBU is for feeling anxious and not just greatful. Little back story. Ive been with DP for almost 11 years, wedding booked this year, 2 kids and a business together.
This last week has been horrendous he has been in a vile mood and I've no clue why, I'm assuming finances, as atm we both have alot more outgoing than incoming. Neither of us can get out of this hole we are both in and the wedding is just adding to that. Every day this week I've been going to work with such a tight chest through anxiety. This week I have not been my normal self in the sense, usually when he is out of character I dont stop until I get to the bottom of what is wrong. I will hound him until i find whats wrong. There has been no arguments as such but there is an atmosphere. I haven't had the energy to find what is wrong with him, so I've said ok and left him for work, bed, different room. I have depression and nothing left in me for bad energy and atmospheres.

Today I come home to an anonymous bunch of flowers 😳 I have never been sent flowers before in my life, they are beautiful from M&S with 2 packs of percys. He is due home any minute and Im just waiting for 💩 to hit the fan.

Give me a reasonable reason? Ive asked him it was a sharp no, Ive asked Mum, brother, manager at work. All nope, Im out of ideas. He is most definitely going to assume I have another man, by how I have been leaving him in his moods this week and now random flowers. 💩💩💩💩

Akire · 18/02/2022 18:18

If was no card I would assume wrong doorstep. Hopefully he wouldn’t be suCh an ass a secret lover doesn’t send you big bunch’s to your home without coming up with a good excuse first!

crazymomma93 · 18/02/2022 18:19

No one at all, I don't shop at M&S, so its not something on my list of favourites 🤷‍♀️

How do you know they aren't from your partner?

Giraffesandbottoms · 18/02/2022 18:20

Have you thought that perhaps he is having an affair and they are for him?

newbiename · 18/02/2022 18:21

@AmbushedByCake1

How do you know they aren't from your partner?
She's asked him.
AprilShowers82 · 18/02/2022 18:22

Ahh OP I hope you’re ok Flowers was there a card?
He’s got no right to be off with you then accuse you of anything. You shouldn’t be fearful of his reactions.

Vacuumingnextdoor · 18/02/2022 18:22

Were they hand delivered by the courier or were they left?

crazymomma93 · 18/02/2022 18:22

My name and my address. Next day delivery so whoever ordered them, bought them yesterday. If he was having an affair, I would of thought they would be in DP name?

@Giraffesandbottoms

Have you thought that perhaps he is having an affair and they are for him?
Possibility? It's got to someone who knows your (plural!) address!
PermanentTemporary · 18/02/2022 18:23

From a friend who knows you're having a rough time?

MichelleScarn · 18/02/2022 18:23

Could he have done so to start a fight?

Vacuumingnextdoor · 18/02/2022 18:25

You must have a secret admirer OP !

The sweets are a bit of an odd choice though. Are you known for having a sweet tooth?

StickyProblem · 18/02/2022 18:26

We had a delivery of a small white jumper once, my name, my address, couldn't think why - what had happened was SIL had sent us a Christmas hamper from M&S, then for her next order the M&S website had kept our address as default. So it could be the same thing, could be an error at the M&S end.

Ronaldmcdonaldhair · 18/02/2022 18:26

@MichelleScarn

Could he have done so to start a fight?
I’m glad you said this, I thought I’d been watching too many channel 5 films! Like the husband is having an affair, sends anonymous gifts to wife then leaves due to ‘her affair’ and shacks up with the mistress. I’m sure it’s not that though, it’s too dramatic for real life I’m sure.

I hope it’s a lovely friend or neighbour OP and not anything worthy of a channel 5 film!

Freddofan · 18/02/2022 18:26

Flowers and Percy pigs sounds like the sort of thing I’d send to a friend having a tough week .

crazymomma93 · 18/02/2022 18:26

DPD Next day delivery, boxed from M&S with 2 packets of percy pig. Ive had a look on the site flowers £25 pigs £3. Who would send them without any card, so I could atleast thank them 🤷‍♀️🤯

@MichelleScarn

Could he have done so to start a fight?
My first thought too
HerbivorousRex · 18/02/2022 18:30

Have you got any friends/neighbours/family members who you’ve done a favour for or who know you’re having a hard time and might have decided to treat you (it’s easy to forget to add a note if you’re doing an online order).

Or I accidentally sent a gift to my friend’s old address because I’d sent her something before and hadn’t updated her address on my John Lewis account. I imagine whoever received the Paw Patrol play set I bought for her toddler was probably a bit confused!

VerbenaGirl · 18/02/2022 18:30

Could it be a random act of kindness from someone (wasn’t there a special day for that this week)?

PeakyBlender · 18/02/2022 18:30

The additional pugs makes me think a nice friend has sent them

Ronaldmcdonaldhair · 18/02/2022 18:31

Would M&S give any info if you call them? I’m not sure how much they’re allowed to say.

Has anyone ever sent anything from m&s to your house? Have you recently moved?

ExtraOnion · 18/02/2022 18:31

You get flowers, you don’t know who they are from .. and the first thing his mind would jump to is that you have another man? Doesn’t think much of you does he?

Garfieldismyspiritanimal · 18/02/2022 18:32

M and S deliveries are crap. They sent a £50 hamper once from us - but they didn’t put the card in so the recipient didn’t know!

Branster · 18/02/2022 18:32

You sound really scared of him even without the mystery flowers.
