@ClaudineClare

It is fun watching all the Johnson apologists melting down on Twitter.
It certainly is. All along the lines of “Move along, nothing to see here”. This evening should be entertaining in the Twittersphere.
UnconditionalSurrender · 25/01/2022 18:01

I mean I bet if she actually was in an office on her birthday and someone had said happy birthday and presented her with a cake she wouldn't have ran screaming into the streets summoning the police, would she?! Honestly it's like pulling teeth, work is not home

This is disingenuos rubbish. The party was in the cabinet room. Food had been bought and set out along with the cake. People were invited into the room to celebrate. None of which was allowed at work under the rules. So its not just there's a cake in the office kitchen for x's birthday, take a bit while you are in.
You are deliberately misrepresenting the facts aren't you? Or are you displaying perfectly your actual inability to think intelligently rather than Marina Hyde?

UPDATE on fast-moving matter of Gray report/PM statement. Told No 10 is preparing ground for PM statement on Gray report tmrw. Timing depends on when Gray hands findings to No 10. Govt figure tells me if report is received tonite/Weds am, PM'll do statement later in the day Weds

@UnconditionalSurrender

*I actually think the way Boris has been I think the lies and the disorganisation etc is a combination of exhaustion and Long Covid.

In the last 2 years not only has he had 2 children but also hospitalised through Covid*

Then he shouldn't have been doing the job. This is straight out of the narcissist playbook - once they are at the end of the line with their outrage and their lies and their blaming others it always ends up with the I am ill excuse- usually mental health issues but I suppose long covid is as good a one as any.
Long covid doesn't cover all the other jobs he was sacked from for lying.

So if you are ill you shouldn’t be doing your job.

So when people are ill they should resign.

UnicornsReal · 25/01/2022 18:11

I assume it is Dominic Cummings who is leaking all this info?

ENoeuf · 25/01/2022 18:11

He has learnt that nothing happens no matter what he does, even before becoming PM.
DC - keep saying it’s over and eventually it’s over
PP - deny the report, someone else will lose their job
AS - probably wonders why she left
Contracts for mates - no consequences
Shagging JA after denying it all - no consequences
Man is 56 and has learned the world doesn’t work the same way for him. He can say it’s over and eventually it’s over.

Mayorquimby2 · 25/01/2022 18:15

"I actually think the way Boris has been I think the lies and the disorganisation etc is a combination of exhaustion and Long Covid"

What's the reason for lying throughout the rest of his career then?

UnconditionalSurrender · 25/01/2022 18:15

Kennykenkencat When they are prime minister and they can't cope then no they shouldnt be doing their job. Its not an ordinary job. Its leading the country through a pandemic and if the excuse is he wasn't cognitively well enough he didn't know a party was a party and didn't know the rules he has imposed himself then he wasn't fit for office. So he either takes sick leave or resigns and lets someone else do it.

Blossomtoes · 25/01/2022 18:17

So when people are ill they should resign.

Many people do. It’s called ill health retirement. Alternatively they find a less demanding job.

DuncinToffee · 25/01/2022 18:26

Must be be all that wine, cheese and cake he had

itsgettingweird · 25/01/2022 18:29

"I actually think the way Boris has been I think the lies and the disorganisation etc is a combination of exhaustion and Long Covid"

Well I'm impressed he was born with long covid when it didn't exist until 2019.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 25/01/2022 18:34

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm suffering from an ongoing case of acute schadenfreude 😄

longwayoff · 25/01/2022 18:48

Me too Barrow, exhausting isnt it? I think it's affecting my cognitive flow, I feel a lie coming on . . .

Mayorquimby2 · 25/01/2022 18:49

So just to keep track we've had

No social gatherings
Has not lied to parliament
No parties we're aware of
No parties and if there were parties all guidelines were followed
Not a breach of covid guidelines , it's a work event
Not a breach of covid guidelines even though it's definitely a party but he thought it was a work event
Not a breach of covid guidelines if you only stay 25 minutes
Not a breach of covid guidelines even though there's birthday cake and food because they work together anyway (apart from the wife and interior designer) and he only stayed ten minutes
Not a breach of guidelines if it doesn't sound like a fun party
Has lied to parliament but probably long covid

the80sweregreat · 25/01/2022 18:52

Sky news at the moment have a ticker tape running talking about photos at the parties with Boris Johnson in them. All were given to SG as part of her investigations.
They were obviously taken at the 25 or 10 minutes he spent at least two of the parties , as he obviously wasn't there any longer , was he ?
All that good food wasted . 🙄

Flowertailbird · 25/01/2022 18:54

@longwayoff

janiiejones could you drop a line to Cressida Dick? I expect she'd welcome your convincing evidence, seems a shame to waste it on a sadly unappreciative MN.
No doubt there will be a private hotline
the80sweregreat · 25/01/2022 18:56

It wasn't even an 0 number was it ? Age 55 or 56 isn't the correct remit for cakes and special treatment , not in the 80s household anyway !
( we are too tight for any of that nonsense let alone during a lockdown / pandemic with actual rules )

DuncinToffee · 25/01/2022 18:57

Robert Peston latest take on this whole issue "Gray will make clear that it is up to the police to decide if the law has been broken, civil service HR to decide whether officials should be punished and Tory MPs whether the PM should be sacked"

the80sweregreat · 25/01/2022 18:58

Will , the PM's won't sack him , so his safe for now it seems.

DuncinToffee · 25/01/2022 19:02

The Tory party is wel known for making u-turns after public outcry, there is hope

the80sweregreat · 25/01/2022 19:09

I hope these pics show him swigging wine out the bottle and looking as pissed as a fart or having a go at the karaoke or heading up the conga. Wanker.

ancientgran · 25/01/2022 19:12

@UnicornsReal

I assume it is Dominic Cummings who is leaking all this info?
If it's after he left, and some of it is, then someone must be leaking to him so he can leak it. Or maybe more than one person is leaking.
the80sweregreat · 25/01/2022 19:16

Dominic and Gove are my suspects.
Based on nothing , but DC must be behind a lot of this surely ?
He is playing the long game.

You can add 'he was ambushed by a cake'

longwayoff · 25/01/2022 19:20

How popular is Boz in the workplace? I'd wager there are many who'd prefer a less annoying and more focused person to work for. I hope he's been nice to the staff.
