Locked parking thread 2

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 01/08/2021 07:38

Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

Let him stew and carry on as normal, apart from contacting the CF-destroying FC tomorrow 😃

User0ne · 01/08/2021 20:01

If he's local you could put a "car for sale" sign up at the gate

ifonly4 · 01/08/2021 20:03

OP, do you have cover for accidental damage by horses? I can see you walking your horse on the track, and he/she freaks out near the car and kicks it!

comebacksunshines · 01/08/2021 20:03

I'm wondering if he has gone camping in the woods with his kids. I don't see how anyone hard faced enough to leave his car on your property after you have explained, would be too wimpy to knock on your door.
I think he probably knows his rights and his aware you can't do anything.

nottoday3000 · 01/08/2021 20:04

Reading this, this morning, I've felt like his sister maybe even the CF himself has read the parking threads on here and is playing you at your own game OP I think it's a battle of wills now. It is utterly bat shit that the police can't do anything about this it's so out of order. My DH would of towed it in the road by now rightly or wrongly x hope he picks it up soon

caughtinanet · 01/08/2021 20:04

@spinningspaniels

He's obviously too scared to come back Grin
Lots of men in my area drive Ford trucks, they are not the sort of men to be scared of a woman telling them off for selfish parking Grin
BlueLobelia · 01/08/2021 20:06

I'm totally up for chipping in a pound for the OP's scarper fund.

HoundofHades · 01/08/2021 20:07

I have to confess to asking my son if his father was the CF here... It's exactly the sort of thing he'd do, and but one of the reasons as to why he's my ex. Son didn't bat an eyelid when asked, but duly texted his stepmum - who reported back that the ex returned from a day cycling in our local forest with not only both of their children in tow, this time, but also his car... No sur;prise, apparently at the question, either...

My ex is a twat - and so is this CF. OP, my guess is he'll rock up and be ignorantly arrogant about the whole thing. Stand firm. CF is at fault, 100%; not you! Wine

tbh as a horse owner i also fell terribly concerned at this. :(

@DepressedDD

Some village teenagers recently wrecked my car bonnet by taking running jumps onto it in a frosbee flop style
Totally OT but it's a Fosbury Flop, named for American high jumper Dick Fosbury. Mum used to accuse me of doing them on the sofa when I was a teenager 😂

This may be needed, mentions about parking.

MotherofTerriers · 01/08/2021 20:11

If this drags on OP and the FC won't help, it might be worth checking if your home (or farm) insurance includes legal cover.

WeegieWan · 01/08/2021 20:12

Is it possible that either the CF or someone he knows has got wise to the fact you've posted about his car on here and is stealthily reading along ? If so he knows his car is fine, hasn't been towed, isn't likely to be, that the police are powerless and maybe he has decided to 'teach you a lesson' in return by leaving it there?

Driver, if you ARE reading this - you should know that no one thinks you are big or clever - you were being an entitled tosser to park in someone else's drive in the first place when you were asked not to - and you know it, and you've compounded your error by being a bolshie little fucker ever since by not coming back for it and your well deserved bollocking. I appreciate that you are deeply lacking in self belief in your own worth and are desperately trying to cover that up by being all cocky and entitled - anyone behaving like such a childish arse cannot possibly think at all well of themselves, but now's the time to grow up and grow a pair because at the moment you are in grave danger of making yourself a laughing stock among your mates when this story gets out (as it will) - one of them has already clocked your car and is asking questions... Just a thought.

FenceSplinters · 01/08/2021 20:12

Has there been no more contact from his sister?

Yesitsbess · 01/08/2021 20:14

@HoundofHades I am properly "lol"ing at that.

I'm imagining this thread turning into something epic: Stardate eleventy hundred and four (thread 499), the car is now a sanctuary for 17 rescued geese (pond in the flatbed), three mice and an ornamental hermit...

StoneofDestiny · 01/08/2021 20:15

What an entitled knob this car owner is. I'd get the police to tell him to shift it - or the FC to do their worst 😂

RandomCatGenerator · 01/08/2021 20:16

I’d get the FC Ranger to turn up tomorrow, tow him, and leave an invoice for their services under his windscreen wipers.

So rude and entitled!

Mumteedum · 01/08/2021 20:17

Get a can of shaving foam and write on his car "selfish wanker day 1". Take a photo and put it on fb. State day 2 will be written in brake fluid.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 01/08/2021 20:18

I'm flaked out now, full of a luscious roast dinner cooked by DH which included our very first homemade Yorkshire puds. I made the batter to the first recipe on the thread (half quantities) & left it in the fridge, & he cooked them. Perfect! Many thanks.

harriethoyle · 01/08/2021 20:20

@HoundofHades that made me laugh out loud Grin

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 01/08/2021 20:21

Dh is just dishing up - roast pork, stuffing, roast potatoes and parsnips, romanescu cauliflower and sautéed courgette, with apple sauce.

I am excused from cooking because I have long covid and need to Rest.

I agree with this.

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon if you do call the FC and ask them to tow the car, don't tell us til the car is gone...in case he or someone he knows is reading this.

mineofuselessinformation · 01/08/2021 20:23

I'm echoing the geese here - my mum used to give a lift to a friend that owned them.
They were better than guard dogs and twice as vicious!
The buggers used to come after you if you dared set foot on their land. Shock

hedgehogger1 · 01/08/2021 20:23

Ffs can't believe you're still being messed around. If you don't need the access I'd just refer on to the forestry commission and tell them their access is blocked.
