Locked parking thread 2

Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

Tbh im tempted let the FC deal with it. They don't seem to give a fuck about damage and just refer people to their insurance department...

The legendary story around here about them must be from about 20 years ago. Certainly before I moved back and had DC...

They were felling the bottom section. So access gates open and signs and ai mean signs everywhere. No parking. 24 access required. Tree felling in operation etc etc. The guys come in with the machines, stack the timber on the track and then days later the lorries come and get them.

CF decided none of that applied to him and drove into track and parked at crossroad section of track. FC tow him out smashing his wing mirrors and scuffing his car up along the way and dump him on the road. They leave a no parking sign under his wipers.

CF does not learn. He complains about them and the damage they caused. The FC guys neither forgive or forget. They start to stack the next load of timber by where he parks his car. They wait. There is a sign warning no climbing on the timber as it could be unstable.

The absolute muppet returns and parks his car as usual. The FC guys drop a fucking tree trunk on his car. A fucking tree. The whole log pile is dislodged and now butted up to his little car. It's totalled. Dead as dead can be. They leave and lock the barrier so he can't even get his car removed. They drop another tree on his car the next day. They have no fucks left to give.

The official story was that where he parked made it impossible to maneuver the machinery resulting in a slippage of the timber stack. The second lot of damage was apparently caused when they were restacking the timber pile....

Some twats never ever learn!

I would absolutely call the FC tomorrow morning. I imagine the CF is the type who goes through life believing himself to be eternally correct. Feel for his kids, you just know this isn’t the first time they have witnessed him in full twat mode.

Am back. Sad to report I did not eat the whole thing. Couldn't even squeeze in a dessert. Disappointed in myself!

I order children's meals or large starters so that I can order a desert. The restaurant doesn't mind and I'm happy with my pudding at the end.

Re your cf predicament, your fc idea is a good one. I live in a fc area and nobody messes with them.

I agree, and don't forget to highlight the many opportunities the CF has been given to remove his car in the 48hrs between him driving in and you calling the FC to report the car still being there ...

Did you check it was taxed and insured online?
Did the police check it wasn't stolen?

Nearly 2 days? Loads of people I’d imagine. I wfh within walking distance of DD’s nursery, I could go without the car for a week or two easily, and months if I had to.

Old cars make excellent nest boxes for hens, I believe. Fill with whatever hens need, add hens - and then have as many eggs as you need for the Yorkshires.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but I wonder if he waited until you said you had to be out in the hope that you'd leave the gate unlocked so he could collect it while you were out.

Now that hasn't worked maybe he's waiting until tomorrow hoping you'll be out at work and he can try getting the lock undone.

Surely you've messaged/emailed the 'sister' back by now asking what the fuck he's playing at.

I’m not surprised you almost didn’t come back @BlueEyesWhiteDragon that poster talking about finding you was rather freaky and weirded me out!

Hope the CFer turns up with flowers/booze at the very least.

A farm close to where we stayed for a lodge holiday had a land rover that had been abandoned, They let plants grow all over it and now it is a rabbit hotel!

So he can be accused of several things:

1. lying about only being 5 minutes

It’s now, what, 16-17 hours his car has been left on your property?

2. saying he (or his sister) will remove it at lunchtime today

It’s now evening.

I wonder if he is in your neck of the woods for a week or so on holiday. He doesn’t need his car during this time (can cycle everywhere he needs to go), so it’s no inconvenience for him to have his car parked where it is for the duration of his holiday.

I would advise you to continue to play the waiting game. Take a pic of his car with his registration number. Go about your own business as you would normally do.

If the FC need emergency access, then they can deal with his car accordingly.

The guy is a shithouse. All he needed to do was knock on, apologise for taking advantage, and then you both could have had a bit of a laugh about it. But he doesn’t have the courage or decency to even do that. He is a sad man.

I have just joined as I have been watching this thread with amazement and just wanted to say that BlueEyesWhiteDragon simply rocks and should stand firm and wait for the knock on the door to ask for the vehicle to be set free. If it doesn't happen by tomorrow lunchtime then she needs to contact the FC and get them to despatch it xxx
