Do you even find yourself suddenly remembering a particular scenario, and wondering where the people involved are today, if the behaviour is still carrying on, did she ever LTB, etc?

Even if the thread had a resolution to the scenario, if things ever repeated again?

The one that came into my mind vividly today was about a woman who'd gone to collect her child (believe it was a DD) and came home to find that her husband had left the key in the door on the other side meaning they couldn't get in, and despite being able to see 'D'H in the window and signalling to him, he refused to come and open the door as he was on a work call? From memory they were left waiting for about an hour and DD had to wee in the garden.

I remember feeling so outraged for her, and find myself wondering now if it was just a one off or if the bastard has continued doing shitty things to them.

Any other ones that have left an impression?

Mmm it’s worth remembering though, a huge number of the memorable ones are probably bollocks or highly embellished.

That's the thing, I find myself remembering the outlandish ones of course, but sometimes it's the more 'subtle' ones that leave a lasting memory. However you're right, even those could be part truths.

There are a couple I've never forgotten. One was a young woman of 24 with an older husband. She was a teacher and loved her job, and while she did want children someday, she didn't want them just yet. Husband wanted them now and made it clear that when they did, he would pay nothing towards childcare or ever do any school/nursery runs or sick days at home, because if she wouldn't be a SAHM, then she had "chosen" this. Obviously everyone tried to convince her that her instincts were right and he was a sinister abuser, but she couldn't accept it and disappeared after saying that it just wasn't worth it, she would do what he wanted. I think her username was calicocat or something similar.

Another one was a woman whose children were starting school and she was looking forward to going back to work. Her husband did not want her to and she realised he was starting to lie about using condoms. She recalled a time when he came and then smirked and she realised he had not been wearing the condom despite saying he had. More and more sinister behaviour came out, things she hadn't realised were worth mentioning or at all relevant. She started to see how wrong it was but said she didn't have any way to leave, she would have to disappear. And then, it seems, she did.

Catlady and mini. Always wonder how things ended for the 2 of them - she just vanished as mini was due to start school.

RuggerHug · 12/07/2021 15:03

The one where the OP kept finding hair that wasn't hers or her DSs in the bathroom. That took a bad turn and every now and then I wonder if they're OK.

Randomuser9876 · 12/07/2021 15:25

The one where someone phoned at the same time every week asking for Elliot.

It was like the start of a horror novel, I keep trying to think of an explanation!

BattineBlooms · 12/07/2021 16:13

I sometimes wonder what happened to the woman who found £10k in her bushes. Did she keep it?!

Also the poster who used a a picture of a hotel room and claimed it was her bedroom. That was a very funny thread! She was adamant it was hers.

Oh, and the young mum who was a bit rough around the edges, shall we say. She had a surprise baby, I think? Then she was hacked or something. Quite a shocking story!

The hotel bedroom poster is still around. The surprise baby poster is on my FB. She was hacked before her second child was born. She's doing fine.

What happened to the lady whose neighbours had illegally installed a door leading into her garden? (Listed house I think)...

zuzu11 · 12/07/2021 16:22

Softzilla anyone?Shock

Fiercestcalm · 12/07/2021 16:26

I want to know where the ironing board went to in the woman’s flat…

Oh, I think that one was all fake in the end! Goodness, it was an epic saga.
BattineBlooms · 12/07/2021 16:28

Aww, what about the Elderly Korean Lady? It would have been lovely if they'd all become friends in the end!

Didn't softzilla descend in to chaos and stalking? Horrible! Hope that OP is doing well.

Booksandwine80 · 12/07/2021 16:30

I always wonder about the poster who had a four week old baby-think the title was “baby is four weeks old and I hate my life”.

This wasn’t all that long ago, I watched it but after a while the OP never came back Sad

pappajonessecretchild · 12/07/2021 16:36

i wonder about the lady from the first thread that i read on mumsnet, it ws the original penguin bollard lady who i believe lived on the IoW, we holiday there and i always wonder if i will come across the penguin bollards.

Nicolastuffedone · 12/07/2021 16:38

I remember the lady with 6 kids who was married to someone from the travelling community iirc, she was desperate to leave, but he was always at her side…never got to know the end of that story.

Shirleyphallus · 12/07/2021 16:41

Who was the lady who had a surprise baby and had been hacked? Was that eatshitderek?

Winterfellismyhome · 12/07/2021 16:42

I often think about the lady who packed up her car and left with her baby whilst her husband was at work. I think DV was involved. She had horses too. I hope shes okay

Yes I often wonder about Catlady. I've often wondered about Trickytreelou who posted a few years ago on OTBT. She had two cats if I remember rightly, and a little boy. I liked her, came across as a genuinely nice person.
BrilliantBetty · 12/07/2021 16:43

Last year. Maybe winter time. Big thread, lady found a used lipstick in the side compartment of the car. Not hers. She then found something else and I think put trackers on the car and I think enlisted the help of an investigator. Can't remember what happened after that but I think the saga went on for weeks!!

I remember her. Clairindespair. So sad, hope they're ok.
Sundancerintherain · 12/07/2021 16:47

I'm glad someone mentioned Penguin Bollards - her neighbours were entitled pricks. I was one of the unfortunate hoarders who googled the Penguin bollards and was bombarded by web ads for them for ages Grin

RuggerHug · 12/07/2021 16:48

Did the fajita Friday woman actually give birth to the second coming of Christ in the end?

bargelights · 12/07/2021 16:52

So. Many. Trolls.

silvergoldstars · 12/07/2021 16:52

Out of interest why does everybody remember and want to know about ESD?

I don’t understand it at all.

The four week old baby woman was a scamming troll.
