Do you even find yourself suddenly remembering a particular scenario, and wondering where the people involved are today, if the behaviour is still carrying on, did she ever LTB, etc?

Even if the thread had a resolution to the scenario, if things ever repeated again?

The one that came into my mind vividly today was about a woman who'd gone to collect her child (believe it was a DD) and came home to find that her husband had left the key in the door on the other side meaning they couldn't get in, and despite being able to see 'D'H in the window and signalling to him, he refused to come and open the door as he was on a work call? From memory they were left waiting for about an hour and DD had to wee in the garden.

I remember feeling so outraged for her, and find myself wondering now if it was just a one off or if the bastard has continued doing shitty things to them.

Any other ones that have left an impression?

ESD is the only one I think of and hope she is doing well

TheGenealogist · 12/07/2021 17:39

Can't remember if it was AIBU or another forum but there was a woman who was really quite unwell mentally, she was firstly convinced that she was going to get chicken pox and die and leave her children parent-less, and then it switched to norovirus, she was convinced her baby would get it and die and was not leaving the house. Her threads were so sad, and so desperate and she was so clearly unwell and not able to seek help. She had a baby, and an older child and was a teacher, I think.

I really hope she's OK.

StrawberrySundayz · 12/07/2021 17:41

I always wonder if Snapped and Farted sorted out her IBS.

And is that guy still dipping his penis in a beaker?

RuggerHug · 12/07/2021 17:43

Ah yes Phyllis! I believe at the time I thought it was utter bollocks, but amusing bollocks.

ILoveFlumps · 12/07/2021 17:46

Still can't believe the Span Gran saga was fake - that went on for such a long time!
I wonder about Mexican House Thief and if he ever tried anymore of that Cf'ery.

Maireas · 12/07/2021 17:47

Did you see the one recently where a woman's sister in law gave her a pink camelia, but she thought it was passive aggressive because she only had white plants in her garden? It got even more hilarious when she then said she had a second home, and in that garden she grew coloured flowers! It was funny.

GetTaeFuck · 12/07/2021 17:48

ESD was amazing, I miss her posts. God that took me back!

BattineBlooms · 12/07/2021 17:48

@TastyMeatPuppet

I remember a male poster, man's name, saying he'd stolen his neighbours loud dog and released it miles and miles away.

He thought it was a hilarious anecdote. Hmm

Gosh, yes, he was terrible. Andrewofgg, I will never forget his horrible name!
HomerSimpsonsDonut · 12/07/2021 17:51

@EmmalineC

Clairindespair was a troll, there was no baby, she was just in it for the money and apparently she got given a fair few quid from posters trying to help her out. She posted again a few weeks after the 'I hate my baby' saga, saying she was desperately ill in hospital and needed a handhold, and NOBODY responded. I think that says everything.
Seriously Shock
Eyjafjallajokulldottir · 12/07/2021 17:51

@babbaloushka

My memory is terrible, I never seem to remember threads. One I do was by a mum who's little girl became really tired and apathetic, out of the blue. I don't know if she ever came back, or we found out what happened.

Who is ESD?

ESD stands for EatShitDerek.
Thelikelylass · 12/07/2021 17:54

Been in here for years and there are three posters I would love to know how they are:
The woman who was a doctor and in a horribly violent relationship, he broke her arm and I think she posted from hospital.
The woman who was homeless and travelled on buses all day. Shoes something.
The woman who was a hoarder and asked for advice about how to change her life.

CounsellorTroi · 12/07/2021 17:55

The woman who posted about her father in law being unwilling to give her a glass of his best champagne. It turned out she'd gatecrashed a dinner they were having with some old friends.

PinkTonic · 12/07/2021 17:56

Oh, well, I hope she's slightly more truthful these days! She must be, if she hasn't been removed! Perhaps she finally has a gorgeous and grand bedroom of her own now

Who knows 🤔

WallaceinAnderland · 12/07/2021 17:57

The lady who's husband was a piano teacher and he was having an affair with one of his pupil's mothers. They met up for bike rides.

Andrewofgg or something like that. I read that too and I've never forgotten it. I hope it was bullshit but if not I sincerely wish him/her the absolute worst in life.

I remember the first Aibu post I read. Was a lady who's been told by her DD nursery that they'd had to make a safeguarding referral. She's been sending her baby to nursery in the same clothes / nappy she'd been picked up in the day before. She thought it was okay because they were clean and she didn't want to waste washing/ nappies.

God it made me feel for the baby. I don't think she ever did come back to say whether she'd accepted support

Taliskerskye · 12/07/2021 17:58

God so many.
I wonder if people name change and then ask the same advice.
I get really upset about the menz not helping because of their too busy jobs, and I always get shouted down.
I’m amazed, is it normal for women to do everything if their oh job is apparently manual

whynotwhatknot · 12/07/2021 17:58

I think about the woman who had worked for her husband for years wasnt allowed to stay up at night onher own and got completely controlled

she got a university course but he talked her out of leaving him and she left the thread she was almost there

Standrewsschool · 12/07/2021 17:59

There was a regular poster called Pink (or something similar) on the cancer thread. She suddenly disappeared. Always hoped she was okay. This was nine years ago.

Taliskerskye · 12/07/2021 17:59

How do people know they’re fake. Just cause mumsnet tells you?

DameMargaretofChalfont · 12/07/2021 18:00

@Toottooot

Catlady and mini. Always wonder how things ended for the 2 of them - she just vanished as mini was due to start school.
Sadly, if you're thinking of CatThiefKeith, she died suddenly in 2017.

Here's the Woolly Hug we made for mini and her family

SmidgenofaPigeon · 12/07/2021 18:00

@Taliskerskye no way, if you’re savvy you’ve usually sussed it looonng before mumsnet wades in on it!

tentotwelve · 12/07/2021 18:01

The ones I would like to know about were two posters who each had awful neighbours.

One lived up a shared drive, I think, and the neighbours made their lives hell, even being nasty to the young daughter. Police were involved but nothing much was done to help.

The other was the American poster who had moved out of London and also had hellish neighbours. She was busy putting in high fences and shrubs for privacy. She may have stopped posting because she'd given so much recognisable information.

If they were real, I hope things are better now.

oooff · 12/07/2021 18:02

The Pom bear dinner party! I'd love to know what chopsy is up to now. They sounded like great fun!!
