Do you even find yourself suddenly remembering a particular scenario, and wondering where the people involved are today, if the behaviour is still carrying on, did she ever LTB, etc?

Even if the thread had a resolution to the scenario, if things ever repeated again?

The one that came into my mind vividly today was about a woman who'd gone to collect her child (believe it was a DD) and came home to find that her husband had left the key in the door on the other side meaning they couldn't get in, and despite being able to see 'D'H in the window and signalling to him, he refused to come and open the door as he was on a work call? From memory they were left waiting for about an hour and DD had to wee in the garden.

I remember feeling so outraged for her, and find myself wondering now if it was just a one off or if the bastard has continued doing shitty things to them.

Any other ones that have left an impression?

I remember one when the op's dh was being a twat in holiday, spoiling it for her and her ds by sulking ! I hope she only came home with duty free.
Another is a post whereby she not only found out her bf had been cheating but she found messages between him and his mates, scoring women marks out of 10. That disgusted me. I hope she got rid.
The ones who live with a manchild. I live in hope that they are now happily single.
The OLD threads fascinate me. I remember one poster who's date had recoiled at the sight of her body. She sounded so lovely and was so devastated. What a prick. I wish I knew some of these people personally so I could help in some way.

SunshineCake · 12/07/2021 17:20

Also, the lady with a small daughter who has a very bloated tummy. She had loads of posters saying it was normal when she was actually poorly. I'd love to know that she was helped and is well.

CoolCatTaco · 12/07/2021 17:21

The woman who with the controlling husband who made her go to bed at 8.00pm and fell out with her for calling him Brian. She wanted to be a teacher but he was insisting she worked for him. I hope she's OK.

LongTimeMammaBear · 12/07/2021 17:22

We were on holiday recently (in UK) and saw many woodland area for sale. Thought of the lady who found neighbours of the woodland she’d inherited had built a fence taking some of the land. I do recall reading she’d sadly lost her baby. Do wonder what happened with the land.

Yes, have thought of spangran from time to time and wonder if the op had the wall repaired. I do believe there was an update via a second party.

TheVampiresWife · 12/07/2021 17:22

So many of the memorable ones turn out to be made up sadly. I've long since learned not to bother getting invested in threads!

The hotel bedroom poster is definitely still here. She often posts about her rosy, idyllic life Grin

AlfonsoTheMango · 12/07/2021 17:22

@silvergoldstars

Out of interest why does everybody remember and want to know about ESD?

I don’t understand it at all.

The four week old baby woman was a scamming troll.

ESD's posts made me laugh. I miss her.
SmidgenofaPigeon · 12/07/2021 17:23

This will probably go soon because there’s TATs and ones that were just obviously trolls. Some posters can be very gullible.

TheVampiresWife · 12/07/2021 17:24

@bargelights

So. Many. Trolls.
Yep!

Indeed
maddiemookins16mum · 12/07/2021 17:26

One I have never forgotten, a child (girl I think) who (I can’t write this even now), hurt their pet cat. The cat died I believe.

AngelDelightUk · 12/07/2021 17:26

There was one not that long ago where a lady left her DP without telling him and just took her DD and dog, and drove to her parents house. I think the dog had to be put to sleep soon after she moved up there.

The thread was moved to OTBT and then disappeared.

PattyPan · 12/07/2021 17:28

There was one where the OP had packed up her car and her you t DD and gone to her sister’s or her mum’s. And her and H had their own business. I think it was deleted - does anyone know why? Was it fake?

warmfluffytowels · 12/07/2021 17:28

There was a thread in Relationships years ago where a lady was in a horrifically abusive relationship - he wouldn't let her eat proper food and she had to steal leftovers from the bin when he was asleep or at work.

She updated about a year later to say she'd married him, then dropped off the face of the earth Sad

Battytwatty · 12/07/2021 17:28

I also remember Trickytreelou. Followed her threads for a while although never commented. She was treated so badly by her ex. I was so happy to read how well her and her little boy was doing.

Yes.

Clairindespair was well-established as a troll.

That's the Dorothy poster I mentioned up thread, with the horses! I think she got her happy ending, thank goodness!
EarringsandLipstick · 12/07/2021 17:30

@Maireas

Remember the £40 per head BBQ, where the hostess had a panic attack and they left without eating? I still can't fathom why they paid £80 to an aquintance for a back garden BBQ. I do wonder what happened, though.
They got their money back - it was all civilly & straightforwardly concluded.
FirmlyRooted · 12/07/2021 17:31

@Fiercestcalm

I want to know where the ironing board went to in the woman’s flat…
Me too!! Forever shrouded in mystery...

There was a lady who was being extremely controlled and abused by her husband. Not being allowed a job out of the house, and him waking her at 5am when he got up as she wasn't allowed to lay in.

I think about her often, and wish I could help her

I think I remember this thread. It was so sad and I also wanted to her her escape this prick too

Oh, well, I hope she's slightly more truthful these days! She must be, if she hasn't been removed! Perhaps she finally has a gorgeous and grand bedroom of her own now. Smile
Homemadearmy · 12/07/2021 17:33

There was a thread a few years ago now. I was new to Mumsnet.
Op posted asking for advice about what to do about her live in nanny who was pregnant and wanted to remain as the nanny and there after the baby was born.
Op was worried as obviously they would need another nanny in order for her to continue working etc. Ive always wondered how it was resolved

DoucheCanoe · 12/07/2021 17:34

I often think of babyjjbaby and wonder how she's doing nowadays - did she get help with her MH problems?

Think it was 2008(ISH) her story of being a young, single and skint Mum of 1 with a little boy was outed as fake - turned out she had a teddy bear that was treated like a baby and she would accept freebies or cheap items from the for sale boards for him. Once claiming a gift from the Secret Santa because she couldn't afford to buy her son anything for Christmas.

PattyPan · 12/07/2021 17:34

Yes that’s the one @BattineBlooms, I do hope that’s the case, I often think of her and how brave she was Smile

@babbaloushka I think that one turned out to be a previously banned poster

TastyMeatPuppet · 12/07/2021 17:35

I remember a male poster, man's name, saying he'd stolen his neighbours loud dog and released it miles and miles away.

He thought it was a hilarious anecdote. Hmm

Hoppinggreen · 12/07/2021 17:37

I wonder about the one who claimed to be a teen mum married to a Russian billionaire and used to start posts like
Should I get a Bentley or a Porsche?
I actually hope she was genuine as I like the thought that even Billionaire WAGS have around on MN

I also wonder about ESD, she was quite local to me. I enjoyed the fact that she was unlike anyone I was likely to be friends with IRL (not from choice, just circumstances) and she really shattered some stereotypes for me.
