I bloody love Elbow Grease!

I'll add Nicky toilet paper - 32 rolls for £6.75. as good as Andrex

TheSpottedZebra · 15/06/2021 13:50

Aldi hot cloth cleanser.

hanketypankety · 15/06/2021 13:53

I'm so glad you have started this thread as was loving the premium brand thread but wanted to know what people do love! Following with interest Smile

Ozanj · 15/06/2021 13:56

Elbow grease
Aldi’s butter croissants - omg they take me back to France every time I have a bite. You can taste the butter!
Dr Oetker’s Mushroom pizza
Sainsbury’s own brand marscapone

AuntieStella · 15/06/2021 13:56

Just about the entire Aldi skincare range

Wilko dry shampoo - it's the only one that works as well as Batiste

Geamhradh · 15/06/2021 13:57

Superdrug Vitamin E range
Anybody's version of YSL Touche Éclat
Anybody's dupe of No Malone (spelling intended) "perfumes"

Mrbay · 15/06/2021 13:58

Astonish cleaners - the mould remover is AMAZING and is only 75p! Gets rid of orange mould overnight. To be fair the whole range is amazing.

PercyPiginaWig · 15/06/2021 14:02

@Mrbay I do have some Astonish cleaning products but their dishwasher tablets are really rubbish.

Tesco Rhubarb and Rose washing up liquid smells nice and is very good. I think it's 50p.

Tesco Creamfields (cheap brand) cheeses and yoghurt are pretty good.

TheRealHousewife · 15/06/2021 14:12

Yes yes yes @Mrbay … I’d forgotten about the Astonish range. I have several items and they all work brilliantly and eco friendly to boot.

You’re very welcome @hanketypankety … fab username!

@TheSpottedZebra I second Aldi hot cloth cleanser. Really good and doesn’t strip the skin!

Pink stuff cleaner. Comes in a little pink tub, costs nothing, cleans absolutely anything!

Frezia · 15/06/2021 14:17

Lidl's skincare brand Cien is excellent, it was recommended to me by a dermatologist.

Really? I'll be getting some of that

Have you tried the Aldi dry shampoo, it's up there with Batiste for me
Fluffymule · 15/06/2021 14:39

Sainsbury's My Skin Matters Micellar Water. £2 for 500ml and does a fabulous job, lasts for ages.

Hohofortherobbers · 15/06/2021 14:39

M&s dark choc Digestives, so much nicer than mcvities and only 70p

SticksAndStoned · 15/06/2021 14:42

Was also going to suggest pink stuff. I was completely astonished at how easily it cleaned my oven door. Brilliant stuff.

AuntieStella · 15/06/2021 14:42

That's one I haven't, I might give it a go next time I'm in there (and then see which wins on price if it's just as good)

mcmooberry · 15/06/2021 14:53

The Lidl cream cheese is around 45p (or it was) and is as good as the Phili one imo - can rustle up a cheesecake for next to nothing using that!

MeowPurrGrr · 15/06/2021 14:55

White vinegar spray used on windows/mirrors with kitchen roll to clean off! They come up smear free and shiny super quick!

IcedPurple · 15/06/2021 14:58

CeraVe.

All the products I've tried are great, and the cleanser is the absolute business. You can get a litre for about 19 quid and it lasts ages. Better than skincare brands several times the price.

lastqueenofscotland · 15/06/2021 14:59

Elbow grease is literally magic

Aldi’s shampoos are all excellent imo, and their fake aero is nicer than real aero

SpindleWhorl · 15/06/2021 15:01

Asda and Tesco clotted cream fudges. £2 a small box, they just happen to have no gluten in them. Absolutely delicious - you'd pay well over a fiver for the same thing marketed as a poncey gluten-free artisanal luxury fudge.

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 15/06/2021 15:03

I only ever buy own brand anything, so it would be a long list! Grin

Cottoncandyandpeaches · 15/06/2021 15:05

Elbow grease in the small yellow tub
Aldi dishwasher tablets
Tesco finest crisps-£1 a bag and are better than the brand named crisps
Henry hoover-almost sucks my carpet up and is a great budget hoover
Aldi bacon crisps-so much nicer than walkers
White vinegar for windows
Cheap painkillers-i won't pay for brand names
Wilko mascara (Green and black tube)
Wilko nail polishes are almost non chip and dry really quickly
Clothes/shoes from sainsburys-they are good quality and the shoes don't need breaking in
Aldi teabags (red box)

My hairdresser is a huge fan of Aldi shampoo and conditioner, and she has converted me to them. It's saving me a fair bit of money, as I used to use John Frieda which is bloody expensive when it's not on special and not that cheap when it is.

Aldi Titan bars - like Mars, but nicer. In fact, nicer than Mars used to be back when they were nice!
