Aldi everything.

RosaLuxemburgwasright · 15/06/2021 20:50

I agree about Branston beans, in fact, I prefer them to Heinz.

Vicliz24 · 15/06/2021 20:55

Wilko Essence brow mascara cheap as chips and bloody lovely . Ditto Collection felt too eyeliner, stays pug all day . Aldi q-10 serum and cream . Home bargains candles. Also their dog Pooh bags on a roll . Definitely Elbow Grease I use it for everything, it even removed red lipstick from a white plimsoll.

dementedma · 15/06/2021 20:56

Agree a tub of The Pink Stuff from Aldi is great.
Magnum washing up liquid from Aldi.

SunshineCake · 15/06/2021 21:01

@SticksAndStoned

I get it in home bargains

Thank you

I used to really bloody love Live Real Red hair dye - got my hair really really vivid and so cheap! Well aware it was probably poisoning my head though. I now get my hair done every 6 weeks at a proper hairdresser for silly money like a grown up (because I'm lazy and got tired of staining all my grout and towels Grin ) but no matter what I do I simply can't convince them I want to glean like a pillar box in full sun and keep coming out a sort of decorous auburn hue sigh I miss my flaming red head!

Me and DH can't stand Branston beans. We both think the M&S ones are the nicest followed by Sainsbury's own. We also think Heinz are nicer than Branston
Hohofortherobbers · 15/06/2021 21:12

Sainsbury ketchup, switched from heinz after a taste test I saw on TV and they were right.
Morrisons savers dishwasher tabs, £2 for a big box.

RubyGoat · 15/06/2021 21:14

M&S shortbread. The fingers for about a pound, in a red packet are just as nice as their fancy shapes. So buttery. Much nicer than any of the branded ones from the other supermarkets, unless you want to spend a lot more money.

AgeLikeWine · 15/06/2021 21:24

Skoda cars.

Skodas are mechanically identical to the equivalent VW & Audi models, but roomier, more comfortable riding, more practical, with fewer pointless electronic gimmicks and much cheaper.

Badge snobs are ignorant fools.

nanbread · 15/06/2021 21:24

Tesco dark salted caramel chocolate. £1 a bar and it's just as good if not better than Green & Black's, Lindt etc. They also do orange and mint versions which are both good.

Benjispruce3 · 15/06/2021 21:27

Aldi Choceur chocolate. The fruit and nut has twice as much fruit and nuts as Cadbury.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 15/06/2021 21:28

Lidls Lurpak dupe.
Propercorn salted popcorn. Salty snack fix but 44 calories a a bag
.

MaMelon · 15/06/2021 21:28

AgeLikeWine totally agree Smile Just bought my second Skoda - looked at the equivalent Audi and VW again but the Skoda I bought gets fab What Car reviews and it’s got so many gadgets for the price. Love it Star

Maverick66 · 15/06/2021 21:28

Lidl Skyr yogurt
Lidl chocolate.
Lidl chocolate oaty biscuits.

MrsDexter · 15/06/2021 21:28

@Geamhradh

Superdrug Vitamin E range Anybody's version of YSL Touche Éclat Anybody's dupe of No Malone (spelling intended) "perfumes"
Can I ask what products you recommend from Superdrug? Thanks
MarieIVanArkleStinks · 15/06/2021 21:30

If there's a price hike we now know who to blame!

Ifixfastjets · 15/06/2021 21:32

For the pp looking for cheaper GF food, asda have a "promise" where the GF versions are the same price as the "normal" items.
My dd happily eats their bread and pasta (and biscuits, cakes, crackers...)
I think their pasta was about 60p last time I got some. For 500g.

PrivateParty · 15/06/2021 21:33

@Catswithflamingos

Garnier’s Banana Hair Food. Better than Elasticiser.
Ahh I bought this range; the mask, the shampoo and the conditioner. Hate them all. Shampoo makes my hair feel dry and knotty. Conditioner doesn't make it any better. And the mask thing leaves my hair feeling... I dunno. Sticky. Hate them.
RoseLavenderBlue · 15/06/2021 21:33

MsFogi and Lakielady I am a big fan of the Boots Curl Creme too, I’m half way through a pot - I had no idea it was discontinued!

MrsDexter · 15/06/2021 21:36

@IcedPurple

CeraVe.

All the products I've tried are great, and the cleanser is the absolute business. You can get a litre for about 19 quid and it lasts ages. Better than skincare brands several times the price.

Do you have a link to the cleanser pls? What Earl do you use as Superdrug are doing buy one get another half price x
Okbye · 15/06/2021 21:38

Asda Shades plain white toilet roll (none of that fancy fragranced/lotioned rubbish)
Few months ago I was in desperate need of more and bought Andrex from our local shop (only brand available) and it was terrible in comparison 😒
Asda Shades all the way 😁

RoseLavenderBlue · 15/06/2021 21:40

Astonish cream cleaner with bleach (in a light blue bottle), is amazing, only 99p. Boots own brand hairsprays are very good, and inexpensive. Lidl’s Authentic Greek yogurt is lovely. Lidl pastel de nata (Portuguese custard tarts) about 39p each, gorgeous.

polkadotpjs · 15/06/2021 21:40

Lidl stuff is very good indeed. Cheese there is lovely as are their olives. I also like the pink stuff. Must try the Astonish stuff -where's that from?
Loving this thread too.

CinnamonCurls · 15/06/2021 21:41

@missbattleaxe The Asda Rose and Oud candle is amazing!! I bought the Midnight Orchid one on a whim one day and couldn't believe how strong the throw was!
