To feel somewhat upset with this Valentine's card from my husband?

My husband is a typical last-minute card and present-buyer, but this really takes the biscuit. His excuses - it was the last one left in Tesco Express, Asda was too busy and he had forgotten his glasses. Excuse for not buying one earlier - he is recovering from his Covid jab ( he had it on Thursday). Excuse for not buying one before then - none.

Am I being unreasonable?

I'd love a card like this, it's exactly my sense of humor.

I don’t really get why people are saying he couldn’t win, he could win by not leaving it to the last minute that it was the only card in the shop and then he just shouldn’t have bought it. When it came to Xmas I needed to get my dad a card but in the shop the only cards were “to mum and dad on Xmas” (parents aren’t together) I didn’t buy it and cross out mum You wouldn’t do it to anyone else so why is doing it to your wife ok. Some odd responses
Tartyflette · 14/02/2021 13:37
It was the last one, it had a heart and a teddy bear on it... looked ok so he just grabbed it without reading.
Bit shitty but hardly a major crime. Also good for taking the piss until next Feb 14, tell all your friends!
NotFabulousDarling · 14/02/2021 13:39
He has to get some points for tenacity, right? He could have come back with a birthday card, instead.
TinyCake · 14/02/2021 13:39
@DustyMaiden
Exactly. Shopping isn't a leisure activity these days. It's go in grab something and get out
Pollypudding · 14/02/2021 13:40
Yeah- that’s not so bad- yesterday I bought my husband a card that said- “To the One I Love” we go together like mistletoe and kisses. Was not until I got it home and opened it that I realised it was a Christmas card. I suppose the mistletoe bit should have clued me in. Anyway I fixed it!!! He thought it was hilarious! And why did the shop still have Christmas cards in February!

Happycat1212 · 14/02/2021 13:41
Leave my mum out of this please
Ermmmmm ok! Maybe don’t comment on other people’s post then!
Boysgrownbutstillathome · 14/02/2021 13:41
@Skyliner001
Yes, but I am not his "fiance" ( male)
Happycat1212 · 14/02/2021 13:41
Replace “mum” with any other relative 🙄
Crimblecrumble1990 · 14/02/2021 13:41
I would find this quite funny. We got a couple of 'Mrs & Mrs' wedding day cards (we are a straight couple) just as most people don't pay that much attention to cards.
I would probably let this start a trend and try and buy each other the naffest or most inappropriate valentines days cards you can find in future.
HitchFlix · 14/02/2021 13:41
at least you got a card OP you handsome chap!
NotFabulousDarling · 14/02/2021 13:41
@Pollypudding that's hilarious! What a find in February!
mummyof2lou · 14/02/2021 13:42
Oh that is so funny!!! Sorry OP, that is bad effort, but a card at least
Nnameechanged · 14/02/2021 13:42
Oh that is brilliant! I'd have to laugh if it happened to me. 😁
DavidsSchitt · 14/02/2021 13:42
"Leave my mum out of this please"
Thread got weird 😆
LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 14/02/2021 13:43
I'm really sorry that has given me a much needed giggle
Of course in the context of always buying shit cards it's not good.
firstimemamma · 14/02/2021 13:43
Hilarious!
TinyCake · 14/02/2021 13:43
@Happycat1212
My brother wouldn't mind if I got him the wrong card. He would be pleased I had got him a card and appreciate the thought. He would find it amusing.

So did we - 3 of them in fact! Made me laugh and just roll my eyes.
I would find this funny and rib my husband about it for quite a while.
Kokosrieksts · 14/02/2021 13:44
I would find it funny
Minikievs · 14/02/2021 13:44
Sorry OP but that's brilliant
Happycat1212 · 14/02/2021 13:46
Yeh it did get weird! It was just an example of a family member no need to get offended or take it personal, this is an anonymous forum where no one knows your back ground and “mum” is just a go to example of a family member! Replace it with sister then, if my sister got me a card saying “to my brother” I would think wtf, but if it was a husband it’s normal to feel a bit more upset as it shows lack of thought that he didn’t even read it
Butterbeeeen · 14/02/2021 13:47
My DH asked our daughter to leave her colouring pencils out for him so he could make me one OP. I just thought it was funny. At least he tried
LilyLolo81 · 14/02/2021 13:47
Well I got an e-card because he’d forgotten till a workmate reminded him this morning so it could be worse 🤷♀️ Oh, and I got a hug, he farted when he hugged me so that made it extra special 🤣
TallTowerFan · 14/02/2021 13:48
I would find it funny too. We don't really do Valentine cards though, if we do buy them we compete to find the worst card possible.
