Friend says boyfriend has been suspended for having a threesome

AIBU to think that there must be more to this? Friend phoned me because her partner has been suspended (he works in a professional job - think police). They have an open relationship and both sleep with other people. I have been considering having a threesome recently, or starting a fwb relationship, and am well and truly put off by this whole debacle! Apparently he disclosed to a colleague that he had a threesome before lockdown and this made its way to management and he's been suspended for this and this alone! Surely he is entitled to a private sex life? My friend knows I've posted this here and is also curious to know if he's hiding something from her... Thoughts? Is he lying?

I find this very hard to believe.

Monsterjam · 11/02/2021 18:59

Could be more to do with who is sharing this info with and them perhaps feeling uncomfortable rather than the act itself?

Mydogisagentleman · 11/02/2021 19:00

How extraordinary

SingingLoud · 11/02/2021 19:00

It’s more likely that he’s been suspended for sexual harassment for pestering a colleague about joining his open relationship for a threesome.

DimidDavilby · 11/02/2021 19:01

Why was he talking about his sex life at work?

ItsJackieWeaverBitch · 11/02/2021 19:01

On duty at the time? Broke the law (underage, happened in public or similar), professional misconduct (involved victim(s) of crime)...

pawsies · 11/02/2021 19:01

Is it because it breaks lockdown rules or something?

radiateforme · 11/02/2021 19:01

I think it's more likely that he has made someone feel uncomfortable at work as does his partner

Me thinks there’s more to the story but why oh why do they insist on sharing details of their sex lives.

user1732578431456 · 11/02/2021 19:02

Well I guess the misconduct hearing will fill in the gaps for your friend. And anybody else who reads about it in the press.

ChristOnAPeloton · 11/02/2021 19:03

Is it maybe more to do with him starting inappropriate conversations at work, rather than the specific details of the encounter?

radiateforme · 11/02/2021 19:03

States he was on annual leave, it was with people he knew (acquaintances) and not linked to work at all. I didn't even really need to post on here and we are both decided that it would be wrong to suspend someone simply for having an unconventional but consenting sex life. She is very worried he's not sharing details.

Is he a vicar?

LolaSmiles · 11/02/2021 19:04

Why was he telling his colleagues about his sex life?

radiateforme · 11/02/2021 19:04

Lol no not a vicar

OP posts:
NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 11/02/2021 19:04

Pull the other one. Hmm

partyatthepalace · 11/02/2021 19:05

Was it a threesome with his bosses wife?

Nicknacky · 11/02/2021 19:06

He hasn’t been suspended because of his sex life, and if he wants a private sex life then why has he made it public?

Obviously there is more too it.

titchy · 11/02/2021 19:06

More likely he asked someone at work if they wanted a threesome

insancerre · 11/02/2021 19:06

*CherryValanc

Is he a vicar?*

🤣

funnylittlefloozie · 11/02/2021 19:07

I very much doubt that your friend is getting the full story. I imagine this will teach her husband to be a bit more careful who he goes telling stories to, though.

I work in a place where pretty much everyone is shagging everyone else. I worked for the police back in the Stone Age, and it was exactly the same back then. So there is bound to be much more to it than she has heard so far. I hope it's not too nasty when she finds out the truth.

CherryValanc · 11/02/2021 19:08

OK, so obviously I don't really but some professional do judge on behaviour. A legal company might not be happy with someone who behaves in a way that they deem not trustworthy even if the behaviour is outside of worth.

Mydogisagentleman · 11/02/2021 19:08

And unlikely

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 11/02/2021 19:08

He is entitled to a private sex life. Unfortunately he is not keeping it private and I would think it has more to do with his conduct in regards to telling his colleagues about his not so private sex life.

TheChip · 11/02/2021 19:08

Maybe he never said it was before lockdown and so its being thought of as it was done during lockdown, which goes against the rules. Many places are strict on ensuring their members of staff are following rules outside of work.
