Just wondered what people's thoughts were following the allegations.
I do think it's awful he's effectively been sacked from all employment before having been found guilty of any allegations.

As tofusch says this has been known about for years but people didnt want to say anything incase they were seen as prudes .It was presented as all part of the scene and artistic and gothic.

The same thing will happen again as a result of this 'sex positive' arse gravy in a few years which encourages prostituting yourself, strangulation, acting like children during intercourse and many, many more horrible acts. Anybody who stands up and says 'hang on this is fucked right up' is 'kinkshaming' according to the moronic new modern sexual morals crowd.

It never occurred to me that Wood was talking about anyone but Manson.

I was briefly a fan in my goth years, but eventually decided his messed up lyrics were actually coming from a very disturbing messed up place. It doesn’t suprise me in the slightest.

He has creeped me out since he got with Evan Rachel Wood when she was so young. I have so much respect for her speaking out about DV. I wouldn't want his name associated with any project of mine so I am shocked he managed to get any work.

I think it says more about Johnny Depp, to be honest! MM always seemed like a twat and a half, though I was still shocked and sickened to read Evan RW's words in the last few years which were clearly about him. Whereas JD had an image of "sensitive rock and roll bad boy with a heart of gold" and even the whole Amber Rudd saga split opinion with many seeing it as six of one and half a dozen of the other, or him being the victim. Now I read that MM is godfather to Lily-Rose Depp! WTF!!!!! How are they going to explain that choice to her? Who looks at their precious, innocent baby girl and thinks "You know who I'd like to guide her through life? Marilyn Manson, that guy"??? (Though In what sense is he even a godfather - presumably he did not stand at any baptismal font and make holy oaths... Maybe a blood ceremony?)

Incidentally Dita VT said that she wouldn't tolerate his involvement with ERW while married to her, and that's why she left him. He would have had a teenage mistress alongside a wife if he could have apparently.

Strangely DVT did not mention abuse, aside from the cheating.

But then perhaps he saved the worst for younger, more vulnerable, less experienced etc women.

Also noteworthy is that he said the thing that made him.notice and be particularly struck by ERW was her wearing heart shaped sunglasses exactly like the ones worn by the actress in the most recent version of Lolita (!)

I read his autobiography 15 years ago as a fan and stopped listening to his music as it felt unnervingly dark. I’m not surprised at all, more horrified that he’s been allowed to discuss the abuse of women for the titillation of magazine readers. I 100 pct believe those women, it’s so gross how the labels etc are rushing to drop him now when this was so obvious.

People have known for years what’s he’s like, just like other celebrities that got away with abuse for decades. Now women and victims are being taken seriously so it’s a good thing.

I am not into his music genre but I am a big music nerd so am aware of him and the allegations against him since his ex best mate and early producer Trent came out with some allegations as to how he could become in 2009.

I am in no way excusing anything, but he did become fucked up on drugs etc and played the role of the character.

I recently read Alice coopers autobigrophy and he hinted at the trouble with always playing a character.

He used to be brian who with his friends hit a niche upcoming music scene, he got overwhelmed by his character that it took over.

But as a person, he was pretty much always a 'very talented' piece of shit if you look back at all the allegations, but at the early stage he was earning too much cash for the execs, TV, radio etc.

I wil stand by the point that if you do like his music though, you enjoy it for what it is, (it really isn't my thing).
