Just wondered what people's thoughts were following the allegations.
I do think it's awful he's effectively been sacked from all employment before having been found guilty of any allegations.

The rumours about some of the album launch parties are f**king awful . I say rumours in this case.

A really good article tackling some of the cliche responses to this.

Thank you very much, @CandlesBlanketsandTea and @SignsofSpring ❤️

@MarieIVanArkleStinks, wow. That was such a lovely post. Thank you. Thank you. I don't think I'm quite ready for that kind of therapy yet, but I'd definitely like to work towards it.

I'm so fucking sorry for what you've been through. That sounds pathetic, I'm sorry, as if you just sprained an ankle or something. I hope you're doing okay, and can I just say, I think you're absolutely amazing for sharing your own painful story with the aim of helping others. I don't even know what to say.

That's a fantastic article, especially from Metal Hammer, who have been supporting Manson's music for decades.

I doubt many women get through life entirely unscathed. This. 1000 times this. It took me a long time to realise that I have experienced rape and sexual assault within not just 1 relationship but several. I thought I was in the minority but sadly I don't think I am.

Sadly, I don't think you are either. Which is horrific. How are we supposed to get over it? I mean I don't want to sound defeatist, and we'll keep going because that's what we do. But I'll never be the same person again as I was before. There's a darkness that has inhabited me that I'm not sure I'll ever be able to exorcise. But still we try, because what other options do we have?
RabbityMcRabbit · 06/02/2021 00:01

@InsideOfEmptiness I know what you mean. It's a kind of loss of innocence and a realisation that the world is really rather fucked up. It's shit.

InsideOfEmptiness · 06/02/2021 00:16

That's it exactly, @RabbityMcRabbit. Exactly. Knowing that there's so many men out there who will happily harm women for their own sexual thrills. Not giving a shit about the damage they do. Knowing that there's so many people who will support and defend them. Who will blame the victims (drunk, flirting, short skirts etc), attack us for not coming forward (because then we're somehow complicit in everything our abuser does going forward), then attack us if we do come forward (because then we're looking for attention and/or money) , or haven't done so in what they consider to be a timely enough manner (bad us needing time to process a trauma).

RabbityMcRabbit · 06/02/2021 03:35

@InsideOfEmptiness absolutely. In the last few years I've either been really unlucky or this is common male behaviour. I used the think the former, but now I'm convinced the latter is true.

Mudmudingloriousmud · 06/02/2021 08:28

I'd like to know if anyone has done a study on men, eg in stone age days, it doesn't seem far off to me that instead of loving partners and families... They simply raped women all over and procreated...

Yes women commit all sex crimes as well but the numbers are absolutely tiny... When I think of all the men who abuse generally but also child abuse and so on...

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 06/02/2021 19:32

@InsideOfEmptiness that was so kind. It's one of the reasons I joined MN, after Reddit became too toxic and even some moderators started behaving in quite surprising ways. It doesn't hurt me any more to talk about it, because the blame for these issues has been rightfully placed where it belongs. (#MeToo helped profoundly with that). None of this was my fault, just as it isn't yours.

Thank you for asking, I am very much OK. It took me a long time to get here, but I'm very happy and contented with my life.

InsideOfEmptiness · 06/02/2021 22:46

@MarieIVanArkleStinks, I'm so glad that you're happy and contented. You deserve it.

And again I have to say thank you. Talking about this put me in a bad place. I've spent two days now lying on the sofa, not sleeping or eating, listening to depressing music, drinking vodka and I think worrying the fuck out of DH (I'm going to have to talk to him about this now I think). I've been having panic attacks and sweating ridiculously, so I feel stinky and gross, my hair is greasy and I was starting to feel like I might just stay here indefinitely. But if you can get healed and happy and whole, so can I, I guess. It won't be easy. But you've made me feel like it's worth a go Flowers

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/02/2021 22:47

InsideofEmptiness Thanks

iklboo · 06/02/2021 23:02

@InsideOfEmptiness - sweetheart you absolutely can start to heal. It may take a little time, but you can. DH - though he doesn't know everything - makes me feel wanted, loved and above all safe. It can be a long road but I promise you won't be alone.

InsideOfEmptiness · 06/02/2021 23:06

@iklboo, thank you so much, that's so kind. And gives me hope. I'm glad that you have such lovely support, and someone who makes you feel safe Flowers

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 06/02/2021 23:48

I have feeling that abuse of women is even more prevalent in the music industry than it has been revealed to be in Hollywood, and much, much more is going to come out.

Yep. I'm expecting to hear about a lot of grown men who've had sex with underage girls - which will be the accompanied by the predictable response that the girls are groupies and therefore to blame.

In the same vein as Manson, Jimmy Urine aka James Euringer:

James Euringer accused of two-year sexual relationship with a 15-year-old, who accuses him of grooming, molesting and sexually assaulting her repeatedly
