Have noticed a bit of an uptick around the Elisa Lam case on YouTube, and Netflix has just added a series called "Crime Scene- the Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel" if anyone is as intrigued as I am. Just a friendly heads up x

That's interesting, Paquerette - you just sent me checking and it seems that, for burial at least, it does indeed have to be done within a week in France

I still find it very hard to accept that a major hospital wouldn't have suitable cooling facilities though, and as we've both now said, an embalming without any kind of official go-ahead is extremely odd - especially in such a high profile case

For anyone wanting a pathologist's account of the Princess Diana inquest I have just read Unnatural Causes by Dr Richard Shepherd. It basically follows his career as a criminal pathologist and there is a section in it detailing his experience as the pathologist called in during the later inquest into Diana's death.

The section is not very long but interesting nevertheless to hear his opinions and how he formed them.

To the pp, yes I just started watching the Elisa Lam documentary last night!

You and me both - brilliant, isn't it? Smile

It interested me that, though he too agrees the whole thing was an accid ent, he was quite frank in saying there were enough mistakes to give room for doubt

My current conspiracy of interest is that COVID was manufactured to control the Chinese population but released too soon/by accident. It is much more likely to kill the old and vulnerable, it reduces male fertility, pushes women into early menopause and lowers libido (lack of smell reduces sex drive).
