Butter-what's your favourite and how much is it?

Currently on KerryGold which is £1.90 and rarely on offer. I used to buy Tesco own label but since lockdown I haven't been shopping there. We go through a 250g every couple of days due to my dcs addiction to freshly baked bread toasted and buttered.
What's your favourite?
(I don't want to get into any discussion about butter v spreadable products just want to hear good butter recommendations really).

Tesco salted here.
Would buy Anchor if it was on offer to make it cheaper than Tesco.
Dislike lurpack and anything spreadable.

LaurieFairyCake · 24/01/2021 16:05

happymummy12345 · 24/01/2021 16:08

For me kerrygold is by far the best. Expensive but well worth it

Ginisatonic · 24/01/2021 16:10

@StealthRoast

This butter is amazing!
Oh yes this one! Bought it a couple of times from Ocado but always out of stock now!
melmos · 24/01/2021 16:11

Morrison the best brittany or aldi specially selected cornish yum theres two of us and we go through two packets a week!

Estreladebelem · 24/01/2021 16:14

I have butter delivered straight from the farm, it’s amazing, I think it’s £2.60 - totally worth it in my opinion. Other than that, I quite like président and M&S Brittany butter.

pandarific · 24/01/2021 16:17

Lurpak is weird imo - butter shouldn't be that pale, surely? It's supposed to be yellow.

As a fellow Kerry gold lover op, this stuff is the best replacement I've found. Aldi's fancy West Country stuff - nice and salty!

MilkGoatee · 24/01/2021 16:18

Kerrygold. The only brand that actually fits in my butter dish.

Squirrelblanket · 24/01/2021 16:19

We use Aldi Norpak as a day to day butter. It's perfectly fine but it's nothing like Lurpak! 😂

We get Lurpak in for special occasions.

havemybreakfastthen · 24/01/2021 16:22

Trewithen Dairy Cornish Butter - delicious

Jelly4444 · 24/01/2021 16:24

Kerry gold all the way! I don't understand why people like Lurpak. Its so pale!

havemybreakfastthen · 24/01/2021 16:25

Sorry missed the price bit - 2.05 in Tesco for the Trewithen

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 24/01/2021 16:28

When I lived in London I used to buy President unsalted. Now I live in Ireland and I buy Kerrygold, I tasted lots of different brands before I settled on that as being the best. Sometimes my DH buys a different one that also has a gold wrapper because it's cheaper, I think Connaught Gold or Dunnes own brand or something, and I won't eat it. Unfortunately because we use a butter dish I can't tell that it's not Kerrygold until I've already spread it on my toast and taken a bit so I end up throwing the toast/bagel out.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 24/01/2021 16:34

Country Life or Anchor, or one of the special farm ones - as long as it’s U.K. origin - I like to support our own farmers. I wish more people would.

I can never see the attraction in Lurpak - ghastly anaemic stuff.

Chanjer · 24/01/2021 16:35

Whatever French or Cornish one the supermarket has

I have no idea what it costs

Popopopop · 24/01/2021 16:37

Green Meadow or Hollybush butter...Welsh salty butter which is delicious. Can find it in Aldi or they sell online at www.evanrees.com/shop-page/4594411517

Shortysoso · 24/01/2021 16:37

Morrison’s ‘the best’ range with salt flakes is great and cheap, or Sainsburys own brand for day to day (although I stock up on butter when I go to a Morrison’s)

BrightYellowDaffodil · 24/01/2021 16:39

Waitrose’s French butter with sea salt. I bloody love butter and this is one of the best I’ve found.

The Abernethy butter is off the scale amazing though - their black garlic butter is to die for.

partyatthepalace · 24/01/2021 16:58

Unless you are wealthy enough for fancy french butter with seasalt - just buy the cheapest - all butter is pretty nice

breadfortea · 24/01/2021 17:01

President salted for us every time

lockeddownandcrazy · 24/01/2021 17:06

Lidl or aldi with sea salt

Jemenfouscompletement · 24/01/2021 17:06

Le Marin butter with salt crystals from Guerande. Living in Brittany it's easy to get hold of and not expensive.

glassecase · 24/01/2021 17:07

Lurpak, 1kg £5

Lulu1919 · 24/01/2021 17:09

Lurpak when on offer or Tesco version when its not ....sorry no idea of price
I buy Tesco slightly salted block butter for cooking
