Butter-what's your favourite and how much is it?

Currently on KerryGold which is £1.90 and rarely on offer. I used to buy Tesco own label but since lockdown I haven't been shopping there. We go through a 250g every couple of days due to my dcs addiction to freshly baked bread toasted and buttered.
What's your favourite?
(I don't want to get into any discussion about butter v spreadable products just want to hear good butter recommendations really).

I’ve just converted ( after a free sample) to Flora plant butter. On offer at Tesco at moment for £1 a pack

Therealjudgejudy · 24/01/2021 15:41

Lurpak. €5.55 for the large container

Shimy · 24/01/2021 15:42

Favourites are Clover and Lurpak, but recently discovered Tesco have started doing their own version of Lurpak called ‘Butterpak’, and it tastes almost the same at less than half the price.

I'm another fan of President lightly salted. I also use their spreadable which doesn't contain vegetable , or other oil. Just butter churned with cream, I believe.

poopyface · 24/01/2021 15:44

Yeo organic salted butter or trewithen salted butter - 2quid ish I think

LucasLeesEyebrows · 24/01/2021 15:45

Country Life spreadable but I think it’s really expensive at £3.25. Sometimes it’s on offer for £2 but not often

fitflopqueen · 24/01/2021 15:47

Aldi West Country butter - very nice. £1.65ish.

StanfordPines · 24/01/2021 15:49

Everyone else is wrong. Brittany butter is the best.

TardisThroughTime · 24/01/2021 15:49

M&S softer butter

Peanutbutterblood · 24/01/2021 15:49

Country life fan here, we go through 1kg a week 🙈 we love butter. Its £3.25 for 500g

I also buy tesco own with sea salt for freshly made bread or other treats

Alarae · 24/01/2021 15:50

Haven't been able to find it in a couple of years, but it was the Bertolli butter with a black lid. Was about £3 I think.

Now we just have regular Bertolli butter which is about £2.

lots33 · 24/01/2021 15:50

Any Welsh salted butter!

Spanglybangles · 24/01/2021 15:50

Anchor spreadable for daily general use. For nice bread etc either President, or Isigny Ste Mere Frrch butter which I buy in Costco but Sainsbury’s sell it too.

Laiste · 24/01/2021 15:51

Anchor Spreadable. Wont buy anything else!

Codywolf · 24/01/2021 15:51

It has to be lurpak, I get it from heron where it is £3

Laiste · 24/01/2021 15:52

Oh - it's £2.50/£3.50 depending on which shop.

Oh12lookanothernamechange1234 · 24/01/2021 15:52

@LucasLeesEyebrows if you have a home bargains near you country life is under £2! The spreadable big size one ( normally £3 odd). That’s my fav and Aldi’s own

Spanglybangles · 24/01/2021 15:52

French* that should read

AuntyMabelandPippin · 24/01/2021 15:53

Lurpak. It was what my parents used, so I just kept on with it.

Had a few years when butter was bad for you without it, but won't take any notice of that again. Grin

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/01/2021 15:53

Castle Dairies Welsh salted butter or Président unsalted

I'm a woman of extremes 😉

Whyistheteacold · 24/01/2021 15:54

Butter is the one thing I am a complete snob about 😂 only country life for me, and it's usually around £3.50 - £4

diamondsr4u · 24/01/2021 15:55

I only ever buy anchor. Love that on toast. Although I very rarely ever eat toast. Can't even remember the last time I did. But I use it for a lot of other stuff. I've used lurpak in cooking, never on toast so don't really know what it tastes like. For baking I use stork.

They sell Castle Dairies butter in Home Bargains.
HermioneWeasley · 24/01/2021 15:59

Morrison’s Best Brittany butter - it’s about £2. It’s so delicious and the salt crystals are big enough to crunch. Mmmmmm

StealthRoast · 24/01/2021 16:00

This butter is amazing!
