To want Scotland to invade the North of England?

Having been royally shat on by the English government during this whole Covid debacle, I'm wondering whether it would be fucking fantastic if Sturgeon and her gang stampeded down to maybe the River Tees and just took the lot for Scotland's own.

Anyone still northern but further south than the River Tees who would campaign for them to move the border even further south?

Nope - devil and deep blue sea spring to mind.

LemmysAceCard · 17/12/2020 19:31

No thanks

adawong · 17/12/2020 19:32

No thanks.

WellyBootsAreYouFrom · 17/12/2020 19:32

So the North of England can share Scotland's dreadful performance on drug abuse and education? No thanks!

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 17/12/2020 19:33

Yes Leeds please!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/12/2020 19:33

Can I ask - those of you saying yes or no, what area are you in?

The way I see it is we have middle child syndrome.

I think we get the shit end of England but I think we would always be English to our lovely Scottish neighbours. So really a no win either way.

Nope, I’m in Scotland and have been in level 3 since October despite low numbers.

Also, if you think Brexit is a shit show (which it is), then undoing a union of several hundred years will be utter carnage. I’ve spent the last few weeks wrestling border trade issues with Northern Ireland and it is catastrophic.

ShrikeAttack · 17/12/2020 19:36

No ta!

Flaxmeadow · 17/12/2020 19:36

Im from the North of England. It's a big NO from me

Apart from anything else, Scotland wouldn't stand a snowballs chance in hades of invading the North Of England anyway. By population the Scots would be massively outnumbered 3 to 1 for a start. Wouldn't be sport would it?

bellinisurge · 17/12/2020 19:37

In Manchester. No thanks, we can take care of ourselves.

Caplin · 17/12/2020 19:37

Also, they are so concerned with Indy ref 2 that everything else has been ignored. Education has gone off a cliff, hospital waiting times etc.

ssd · 17/12/2020 19:38

WitchWanderer · 17/12/2020 19:50

English in Scotland (Skye - ex Leeds) - that's why we moved from Sassenachville..... let's take the border down to Watford!

AnyFucker · 17/12/2020 20:14

Are you William Wallace ?

Allmyfavouritepeople · 17/12/2020 20:15

I'm all for it (Lancashire here)
Free prescriptions
Free university tuition
Schools aren't as much of a pressure cooker
A leader that appears to value the lives of her constituents.

I'll take it!

Willyoujustbequiet · 17/12/2020 20:19

Yes!

I'm north of the wall so north of the ancient border but south of the current border in no mans land. We have far more in common with Edinburgh than London.

LostAcre · 17/12/2020 20:20

Ooh, it does sound tempting.

But that might be one of those the grass is always greener on the other side things.....

AhFiddledeedee · 17/12/2020 20:26

Meh, I'm up for it.

If it all goes tits up, well, I think we are all screwed either way.

Least I'd have easy access to the Highlands, they are beautiful

Cakles2010 · 17/12/2020 20:39

I'm about 1/2 mile away from river tees running through yarm and I'd absolutely agree to this 👍🏽 this governments a shower of s*%^te!
