To want Scotland to invade the North of England?

Having been royally shat on by the English government during this whole Covid debacle, I'm wondering whether it would be fucking fantastic if Sturgeon and her gang stampeded down to maybe the River Tees and just took the lot for Scotland's own.

Anyone still northern but further south than the River Tees who would campaign for them to move the border even further south?

Bonnie Prince Charlie tried in the 1740s and failed, only getting as far as Derby. No chance of trying again, as if you got to Derby now the sight of Wayne Rooney would be enough for you to turn back!

Nottherealslimshady · 17/12/2020 20:40

Well I dont fancy being invaded but I do like her.

grafittiartist · 17/12/2020 20:41

Oh I thought if this the other day- yes from this northerner!

Brunt0n · 17/12/2020 20:42

Scot in the SE... wouldn’t go back if you paid me and certainly wouldn’t want to live under wee Jimmy krankies rule

Girlyracer · 17/12/2020 20:42

They can come and try if they think they're hard enough. But they'll get thrashed.

CountFosco · 17/12/2020 20:45

I live very close to the Tees and my Scottish family all think my children have 'posh' English accents. We might not be as welcome as you think (although I'm surprised Berwick hasn't been annexed yet).

LadyCatStark · 17/12/2020 20:47

No, I vote for forging our own kingdom with Andy Burnham as the King in the North!

HorridHamble · 17/12/2020 20:48

I don’t think this is a great idea. As a Scot living in Scotland, if we get independence I’ll happily swap with you though!

forsucksfake · 17/12/2020 20:50

Sturgeon? No, thank you. I'd rather take my chances with Liz Truss and moving the Equalities Hub up here.

ByersRd · 17/12/2020 20:52

Yes, please. Not exactly invade more work together. Can't be any worse than being part of this current shambles.

CanofCant · 17/12/2020 20:54

Aha, my husband was saying just the same thing earlier. We are in mid Northumberland.

adawong · 17/12/2020 20:55

Andy Burnham as the King in the North!
No thanks to that too.

GintyMcGinty · 17/12/2020 20:57

Nippy is doing all the same things as boris she just sells it well.

And we have a one party state in Scotland so there's no opposition to challenge her.

Frollocks · 17/12/2020 20:58

A leader that appears to value the lives of her constituents.
Hahahahaha....👇

To want Scotland to invade the North of England?
TrainspottingWelsh · 17/12/2020 20:58

I'd rather you didn't. It would massively piss me off to be paying two lots of uni fees knowing that if I lived a short drive away it would be free. And once sturgeon has her blue face paint on she might get ideas about going further and I don't want a civil war where we all lose no matter whether she or Boris wins. Let alone a nac mac feegle in heels appearing on the hills shouting 'you may take my chance for independence but you'll never shut me up about it'

However I'm up for the idea of all of us Uk wide to rebel against parliament. It's not like the media or government would notice until London faced any difficulty. Indeed, we could host full elections and be meeting world leaders, negotiating trade deals etc and the media would still be banging on about the hardships of tier 3 for London. And explaining the shortage of food in London as 'something going on in the north and the west' North and west being anywhere without a London postcode.

Happytentoes · 17/12/2020 21:00

You know we’d love to have you, it Scotland is a shitshow and all the free prescriptions etc are unsustainable when the SNP cannot support business.
Totally understand the desire for self determination, but I am more of the opinion that a federal system ( like Germany not US) would better suit our union.
Always happy to welcome our English neighbours

GintyMcGinty · 17/12/2020 21:00

And bear in mind that COVID deaths are worse in Scotland

CrotchBurn · 17/12/2020 21:00

Sorry but the title of this genuinely made me laugh!

AnyFucker · 17/12/2020 21:05

Would we be forced to wear white stilettoes ?

PetertheWalrus · 17/12/2020 21:07

As someone with family in Scotland YABVVU. Your ancestors fought to keep them coming south for a reason.

CrotchBurn · 17/12/2020 21:08

@AnyFucker
🤣

splishsplashsploosh · 17/12/2020 21:09

North Northumberland here - don't feel an affinity with England and as another poster said, much nearer to Edinburgh than London. Not sure about being annexed by Scotland, though. Would rather have an independent Northumberland!

StoneofDestiny · 17/12/2020 21:11

Since the English show no desire to get rid of Boris Johnson and his cronies, not sure it's fair to ask the Scots to assist in any way.

UrghThisIsHard · 17/12/2020 21:17

Absofuckinglutely not. Hard no for Newcastle.

Flaxmeadow · 17/12/2020 21:20

Yup
As a Northern Englander, I'm with Nicholas Flemyng, Edward ll, Catherine of Arogan and Guy Fawkes on this one.
