To want Scotland to invade the North of England?

Having been royally shat on by the English government during this whole Covid debacle, I'm wondering whether it would be fucking fantastic if Sturgeon and her gang stampeded down to maybe the River Tees and just took the lot for Scotland's own.

Anyone still northern but further south than the River Tees who would campaign for them to move the border even further south?

OP posts:
Canyoncall · 18/12/2020 20:44

Eh?? Sort your own shit out first ...I live north of Tyne but don’t sign up to this (though support Scottish nationalism and Independence) Why are you trying to be so divisive OP?

Helendee · 18/12/2020 20:46

I will stay in England thanks.

WaxOnFeckOff · 19/12/2020 08:23

Well I wouldn't mind nicola marching off and not coming back and she can take the rest of the slimey lying incompetent fuck faces with her. Hopefully our English friends in the North deal with them appropriately.

MsAwesomeReindeer · 19/12/2020 08:28

I'm not far from the Scottish border. I'd love to move the border a bit further South. My only problem would be getting used to the Scottish education system but I think that might be worth it. If they moved the border to just below Cumbria (and Northumberland/Newcastle over on the East coast) then that wouldn't be too much for the rest of the country to cope with.

RaspberryCoulis · 19/12/2020 08:30

You don't want her. Really you don't. Believe me, I live up her with Queen Covid and her totalitarian regime. It's no better/worse than England, Wales or N Ireland.

Same shit, different names for that shit.

A quick straw poll in our house this suggests that it's a no from us, happy where we are.

pennylane83 · 19/12/2020 08:57

@Allmyfavouritepeople

I'm all for it (Lancashire here) Free prescriptions Free university tuition Schools aren't as much of a pressure cooker A leader that appears to value the lives of her constituents.

I'll take it!

Easy to do when it's not your own cash your spending. Where does the funding for free university, prescriptions etc come from again. Ah, that's right, Westminster.
mygenericusername · 19/12/2020 09:07

No thanks. Why would I want to be dictated to by the wee little commie.

Every Scottish friend I have states the SNP have destroyed Scotland in its pursuit of a socialist utopia.

Biker47 · 19/12/2020 10:06

No thanks, would rather not have Jimmy Krankie down here, she can stick to ruining her own country thanks.

Nc135 · 19/12/2020 10:08

Reading all the comments on here - who then does vote for the SNP given their awful track record? Is it because there is no alt?

Babdoc · 19/12/2020 10:25

Nc135, the SNP only win seats because the Unionist vote is split between Tories, Labour and Libdems.
The SNP have failed on every front in Scotland. We have the lowest rate of business start ups per head of all the UK regions, our education is now so bad the SNP have pulled us out of the international league tables to hide their embarrassment, our care home Covid death rate is worse than England, our drug deaths are the worst in Europe, our deficit is too high to even qualify for readmission to the EU, our professionals such as doctors pay the highest income tax in the whole UK so we struggle to recruit them, and all our stupid freebies like free uni tuition for European foreign students and free prescriptions for millionaires are paid for by England.
God help the North if bloody Sturgeon ever got her greasy paws on it!

BilboBercow · 19/12/2020 10:34

I'm not for invading but I'm a welcoming sort. Anyone who wants to join us would become Scottish in my mind. Plus if you're north of the wall I pretty much see you as Scottish already.

Nc135 · 19/12/2020 12:18

@babdoc yep I see. But still lots of people are voting for the SNP despite this degeneration. Is it because NS is such a shrewd marketer?

Nc135 · 19/12/2020 12:21

There are LOADS of comments throughout this whole pandemic about what an amazing job NS has done. Do people really still think that or has the tide turned?

SantasBritchesSpelleas · 19/12/2020 12:22

Yes, come on down - free prescriptions, free university tuition, what's not to like? I'll take Sturgeon over Bojo any day.

Nc135 · 19/12/2020 12:27

@SantasBritchesSpelleas who do you think is paying for that?

WaxOnFeckOff · 19/12/2020 12:29

It's hard to tell as the nicbots are more vocal and post their shite everywhere, I'm sure they are on some pay per post deal. BBC restrict commenting on most of the articles on their website but don't on the FB page. That can be illuminating. Lots today still trying to defend the drug figures blaming Westminster and that the calculations are different - none of that is true. Do they not realise that even Nicola can't bloody defend it and has had no choice but to apologise? Damned sure if she thought there was a lie that would stick she would use it.

Their record is shit. Oh and by the way the free uni places means that Scottish students are far less likely to get a place at Scotland own prestigious Unis as the places are limited.

NS herself is an accomplished politician, that doesn't mean she is actually any good - just very little competition and tame press who are either also bought into it or just too scared to really call her out on the lies.

Looks better than Boris but the wheels are starting to come of the wagon imo. I think they will still do well enough in May though and the vote buying has already commenced.

SantasBritchesSpelleas · 19/12/2020 12:30

@Nc135 Taxpayers, but at the moment in England I'm paying my taxes but getting very little back for them.

Sewsosew · 19/12/2020 12:32

If you think Scotland are doing a good job then you are delusional.

Nc135 · 19/12/2020 12:36

@SantasBritchesSpelleas and where does the tax surplus come from to pay for that?

RunnerDown · 19/12/2020 12:36

There is a particular group of SNP haters on here who are very opinionated. I am Scottish , and most of the folk I know think Boris is a morally corrupt idiot, and that they much prefer Nicola. I don’t usually bother posting on the Scotsnet threads any longer though as opposing views are scorned and ridiculed . And if you say anything positive about Nicola that somehow makes you some sort of SNP groupie. It’s a very bullying attitude.

I agree.

Sadly, the border would have to move a lot further south for me to be in Scotland, I'm only a few miles from the south coast.

That is encouraging to hear. I have Scottish heritage and think Scotland is beautiful with such a rich culture. I really don’t want the Union to break.

Nc135 · 19/12/2020 12:40

@LakieLady I don’t think you would say that if your read this thread.
