To think that I can can’t be the only woman that has a huge stock of unused body moisturiser?

I get through face moisturiser in a flash, smelly bath shite gets used, even the dodgy shower gels get their turn but I seem to have a massive backlog of moisturiser ranging from Ballis and Harding up to Jo Malone and none of it gets used.

I only don't have a stock of it because I have given loads of it away. I have never understood body lotion but various charity shops and once the wife of our plumber have benefitted from other people buying it for me

MoonBaby1 · 24/11/2020 20:31

I usually donate a load for Christmas fetes. Probably the smallest corona moan tbh!

I used to but I’ve made a real effort this year to use up stuff instead of letting it fester and then throwing it away.

Bluesrunthegame · 24/11/2020 20:33

I don't have time to put it on then wait for it to sink in so it doesn't get on my clothes. I've got tubs of the stuff because people buy it for me and I can't accept I am never going to be the sort of person who uses it.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 24/11/2020 20:37

I dont know who does use it.

It always comes in bloody huge open tubs, then a few months later you have barely used it and its started to smell weird.

year5teacher · 24/11/2020 20:37

I use it regularly but I am picky so I clear out stuff I don’t like or use a lot. I really like the Vaseline cocoa butter one and they also have that one but in a sort of oil/gel form. Sounds gross but it’s so nice.

MrsGrindah · 24/11/2020 20:38

Me too. Clearly I must look like a crisp because I get it as a gift every birthday etc but never ever use the stuff.

grassisjeweled · 24/11/2020 20:38

Me too. Hate body lotion

SionnachRua · 24/11/2020 20:38

I'm the opposite, I hate scented bath stuff and takes me longer to get through facial moisturizer than it does the body stuff. I love body moisturiser, it always gets used right after a shower (Aveeno after shower mist is fab). I go through rakes of the stuff.

Has to be the brands I like though, I think that's key. If I had people giving me Soap and Glory or Bayliss and Harding sets no doubt they'd be cluttering up the place!

Mrsbclinton · 24/11/2020 20:38

During lockdown earlier this year I sorted through all my cosmetics and realised I have about 10 bottles of body lotion to work my way through. I never have enough time to put it on after my morning shower as Im rushing for work!

year5teacher · 24/11/2020 20:38

If you don’t feel you have the time before putting clothes on then the body shop body yoghurts are nice because they sink into damp skin really quickly. You do have to get past the name “body yoghurt” though.

Sarahandduck18 · 24/11/2020 20:41

Yes I hate it when they come in packs.

One tub will last me from one Xmas to the next.

WhataFarce76 · 24/11/2020 20:46

Same with dodgy sets that come with cheap makeup/brushes etc, or nail varnish sets that have vile colours in them (or you don't use nail varnish). I explicitly say every year to people not to get me toiletries of any kind (particularly MIL) and then get loads of stuff I'll never use and quietly have to give away or get rid of.
It's such a waste of money. I don't use body lotion and never have, and don't know anyone who actually does. At a pinch I have used it in place of shaving gel to shave my legs/underarms if I run out of shaving gel.

TheSockMonster · 24/11/2020 20:46

Does used for 3-4 days then abandoned because they (a) sting, (b) bring me out in a rash, (c) don’t sink in, (d) all of the aforementioned count?

biffyboom · 24/11/2020 20:48

I'm trying to get through numerous lotions and body butters, I've been leaving them around the house to try and remember to use them. I'm pretty sure I have a lifetime supply of them.

PeanutButterCheesecake · 24/11/2020 20:48

I love them, I use loads. Didn't realise I was so unusual! I like to have a couple on the go at once so I get different yummy smells every day.

Cleanerdilemma · 24/11/2020 20:49

I used to be like you and have tubs of body butter that I had been gifted everywhere. Then I hit my mid 40s and need to moisturise myself body very regularly otherwise I get horrible dry itchy skin. All the old unopened tubs of moisturiser have now been used up Grin

SausagePourHomme · 24/11/2020 20:50

I feel seen!

Biancadelrioisback · 24/11/2020 20:51

I use it every day! I never ever have enough
Can I have yours?

Mistymonday · 24/11/2020 20:52

I get through everything except sodding body lotion! I swear it breeds in the cupboard too.

FredtheFerret · 24/11/2020 20:52

I don't know anyone who uses it!

It tends to come in a gift set and I look at it doubtfully and put it in a basket in the bathroom. I mean...I've seen adverts were women get out a shower and slather cream all over themselves but I didn't realise people in real life did this!

Do you bath, towel dry, then grease yourself up again?

FredtheFerret · 24/11/2020 20:52

polkadotpjs · 24/11/2020 20:54

I was thinking the same! How can people not spare two mins to put body lotion on
