to tell friend she's accidentally used my baby scan photo?

LittleTruffle · 14/11/2020 18:54

My baby was born last month and one of my friends is currently pregnant. During my pregnancy, I shared some pictures of my scan photos with her.

A few days ago, she posted a photo of a scan picture on social media. I recognised the scan picture immediately as one of mine. I even dug out the actual scan photo to double check - it is definitely mine that she's used.

She has clearly meant to post a picture of one of her own scan photos, but has accidentally posted one of mine and she hasn't realised what she's done.

I didn't see the social media post when she initially posted it a few days ago. I only saw it for the first time today. Already, tons of people have liked the picture and have made comments, which she has replied to.

I think, if I'd have seen her social media post when she initially posted it, I would have let her know.. but a few days have gone by now and I don't know what to do.

Should I let my friend know she's accidentally used an image of my scan photo? Or, should I keep quiet and just let her enjoy the moment as it's not doing anyone any harm?

YABU - Yes, it would be unreasonable to tell her.
YANBU - No, it would not be unreasonable to tell her.

It wouldn't be unreasonable to tell her, but I don't see much point. Scan pictures are much of a muchness - I doubt anyone would notice the difference if she replaced hers with yours.

MatildaTheCat · 14/11/2020 18:57

Keep quiet.

BoobsOnTheMoon · 14/11/2020 18:58

How did she manage that? Surely the ones you shared with her must have been way back in her image gallery Confused

Are you sure she is pregnant?

tryingharder92 · 14/11/2020 18:58

How could she accidentally use yours? Surely this wouldn't happen. Are you sure she's pregnant? I don't mean to cause offence and maybe I've been watching too many soaps lately!

TheStripes · 14/11/2020 18:59

Maybe she didn’t want to use her own one and intentionally used yours.

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 14/11/2020 18:59

I wouldn't say anything.

They all look pretty similar anyway and it would be a shame if she felt she had to delete the photo, and the well wishes alongside.

tryingharder92 · 14/11/2020 18:59

Scans do look similar but if you're absolutely sure it is yours then I would definitely be reading more into this!!

gottakeeponmovin · 14/11/2020 19:01

I be wouldn't day anything

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 14/11/2020 19:01

don't they usually have some personal details on them?? I know I was squizzing extra hard at one someone put up recently as it seemed like such a surprise and pretty sure her name and DOB were on it.

BananaPop2020 · 14/11/2020 19:01

Yes, this does seem odd. I would say something.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 14/11/2020 19:01

I agree with @BoobsOnTheMoon it's an odd mistake to make and my immediate thought was is she really pregnant.

namechangenumber204 · 14/11/2020 19:02

Isn't your name on it in the corner? If she's cut that bit off I would be very suspicious...

DramaAlpaca · 14/11/2020 19:02

That's such a weird thing to do.

I'd keep quiet. It's doubtful anyone but you will notice.

Loveable1 · 14/11/2020 19:03

Does it not have your name on it?

If she has zoomed in to deliberately cut the name out then I would be very suspicious of the whole thingHmm

Hayes178 · 14/11/2020 19:03

I'm confused at how anyone can get their scan photos muddled up. Surely they look completely different considering you recognised it as your own right away!

PleasantVille · 14/11/2020 19:03

How would that happen? I can't think how a mix up like that would come about.

I'm absolutely amazed that you could recognise a scan photo, you seriously knew it was yours, I'm Shock that anyone could do that

Cheeseboardandmincepies · 14/11/2020 19:03

How did she manage to use the wrong scan photo? Seems rather odd.

SayakaMurata · 14/11/2020 19:03

My first thought was also that she's not really pregnant but is trying to convince someone that she is.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 14/11/2020 19:03

It’s weird-I wouldn’t make a big thing of it but would mention it in passing

Minky37 · 14/11/2020 19:03

My name, dob and name of hospital have been printed up the side of my scans, check the pics for these.

ZombieAttack · 14/11/2020 19:04

How would this even happen? Your scan photo wouldn’t be at the front of her camera roll.

selflove · 14/11/2020 19:04

Yes I'm also impressed you recognised your own! Mine all just looked like blobs to me 😂

I'd also be suspicious as to whether she was actually pregnant - when you send yours to her were your details visible, and if so, has she cropped these from the upload?

FTMF30 · 14/11/2020 19:05

Ditto

LittleTruffle · 14/11/2020 19:06

@BoobsOnTheMoon
@tryingharder92

She's definitely pregnant.

I have no idea how she has managed to accidentally post mine 🤷🏻‍♀️ I hadn't resent pics of my scan photos to her her recently, so they would have been a fair way back in her image gallery. I can only assume she scrolled back to get her own photos, but scrolled a bit too far and didn't notice.

If u can see any of your personal info on it then tell her, otherwise keep quiet. Sure she’s pregnant?
