We have wheelie bin for general waste collected every 2 weeks
I tens to line the wheelie bin as we have a dog and incase dog pooh bags or waste splits
Just after bin day we had ran out of liners , due that day
Dh decided to throw a bag dog pooh in bin without liner at bottom
Im not happy but he says i aibu
But at the bottom of the bin when all the other rubbish goes in it is likely to split open, bags we use a degradable as well and as its will be 2 weeks im not that convinced how well they will contain especially with a load rubbish
I thought he had removed it as we have 2 bins ( large family )
But just gone out and its still at bottom of bin along with a bag of rubbish one of kids as thrown in
I can't reach it to get out
I wouldn't of minded so much if he had at least placed it in a black bag first and then put in, he could of taken out kitchen bin bag and put it in that at least

Do you double bag the dog poo?

lazylinguist · 03/11/2020 10:35

We never line our wheelie bin, and have always put loads of bags of dog poo in it. None have ever split or degraded.

gingerbreadfox · 03/11/2020 10:37

I always throw poo bags in the bin. I also don't use bin liners just put bin bags in. Never had issues

Anordinarymum · 03/11/2020 10:39

Yuk. I always clean my wheelie bin out after it is been emptied as my family launch the crap out of their cars straight into it, and it is always wet and stinking.
Perfect me puts bags of rubbish in it so it should remain dry and clean. It is one of my pet hates. I will be glad when the remaining one of my children moves out :) :)
Do I really mean that ??

Yes I bloody do !

Whatsnewpussyhat · 03/11/2020 10:40

If you want to get it out just tip the bin over

FamBae · 03/11/2020 10:51

Mine go in a plant pot until I take the kitchen bin bag out .... I'm totally with you on this one OP there is nothing worse than a squished poo bag still stuck to the bottom of the wheelie bin after the refuse collectors have been.

Sweettea1 · 03/11/2020 10:54

Wow wish what went in my bin outside that has absolutely no effect on my life whatsoever was my only worry unless your bin is made of gold then what is the problem

TheQueef · 03/11/2020 10:54

It's the bin it doesn't need plastic to protect it Hmm you don't need to touch inside.
Scented Cat Litter a small scoop every two weeks to soak up bin gravy and make it smell nice.

ChristmasStocckings · 03/11/2020 10:54

You have a liner for your big wheelie bin? What a waste! You are being unreasonable about that alone. The poo is in a bag, I doubt it needs more plastic to be used.

shitinmyhandsandclap · 03/11/2020 10:56

Not seeing the issue really, it's a bin, it's where we put dog poo. Never had an issue here, in 7 years we've probably had 2 split bags but again, not an issue

Nobodyknowsme101 · 03/11/2020 10:57

That wouldn't bother me at all, bins are for rubbish so why worry about it being dirty??
I've put dog poo in my bin in the little bags for years and ive never had them split, even if they did its not the end of the world.

littleblackno · 03/11/2020 11:01

People line their wheely bins??

ImEatingVeryHealthilyOhYes · 03/11/2020 11:01

I kind of do see the issue if it’s a type of bad that could easily split with the weight of other rubbish on top.

Can’t make an adult do something they don’t want to do though (sadly)

ImEatingVeryHealthilyOhYes · 03/11/2020 11:02

I expect there’s a third way he might agree to (I also think it’s a waste of plastic to line a wheelie bin)

AriettyHomily · 03/11/2020 11:03

Always goes in our wheelie bins, never had a problem. I'm not about to start lining the wheelie bins!

AdobeWanKenobi · 03/11/2020 11:05

Nottherealslimshady · 03/11/2020 11:05

It's ridiculous to use yet another plastic bag to protect the inside of a wheelie bin from rubbish. I couldn't tell you what the inside of our outside bin looks like, I don't care, it's a bin, its outside, the inky time it's a part my life is the one second I open it to throw yet more rubbish in, why does it need to smell nice, you dont have a bath in there aswell do you?
If he'd put it in the kitchen bin fair enough, but where would you prefer a bag of dog shit to be put?

WitchesSpelleas · 03/11/2020 11:06

In our 14 years of having a dog, we never encountered a poo bag splitting in the wheelie.

AnnaMagnani · 03/11/2020 11:07

You line your wheelie bin? We just chuck our cat litter in it. It's a bin, we don't touch the inside of it.

AriesTheRam · 03/11/2020 11:07

Bin gravy Grin

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 11:08

A wheelie bin liner???????

Never had a poo bag split. If DDog decides to poo after we have passed the last public bin then the poo bag goes in our wheelie bin. Yes, I object if the bin has only just been emptied, but hey! That's how it goes!

Anordinarymum · 03/11/2020 11:09

@AdobeWanKenobi

This is Pooh.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 03/11/2020 11:10

Don’t waste all that plastic.

My dogs’ poo p
Bags go in the bin, have done for years.

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 03/11/2020 11:12

I thought you were going to say kitchen bin, which would be disgusting, but it's a wheelie bin!!

Mustbe3ormorecharacters · 03/11/2020 11:15

Stop wasting plastic or he’s coming for you.
