Dh putting bags of dog pooh in bin

We have wheelie bin for general waste collected every 2 weeks
I tens to line the wheelie bin as we have a dog and incase dog pooh bags or waste splits
Just after bin day we had ran out of liners , due that day
Dh decided to throw a bag dog pooh in bin without liner at bottom
Im not happy but he says i aibu
But at the bottom of the bin when all the other rubbish goes in it is likely to split open, bags we use a degradable as well and as its will be 2 weeks im not that convinced how well they will contain especially with a load rubbish
I thought he had removed it as we have 2 bins ( large family )
But just gone out and its still at bottom of bin along with a bag of rubbish one of kids as thrown in
I can't reach it to get out
I wouldn't of minded so much if he had at least placed it in a black bag first and then put in, he could of taken out kitchen bin bag and put it in that at least

Just FYI for anyone saying they flush dog poop down the toilet, you really shouldn’t. Our sewage system is not designed to cope with non-human faeces.

Do you wash the dogs feet of does he have dog shoes?

timeforanewstart · 03/11/2020 15:25

@TheQueef no I don't and despite having quite severe ocd I know he is a dog and dirty feet and hair everywhere are part of ownership
But don't want to smell dog pooh when I open my door

Recycling and eco cleaning products does not equate to doing a fair bit for the environment.

People really do @MrsTerryPratchett ☹️

TheQueef · 03/11/2020 15:31

But you shouldn't be sniffing or going inside the bin!
Stick an air freshener to the side of you must mask it, the outside bin is the place for it not extra plastic.
Your DH didn't drop Fidos duke in the bedroom bin he put it in a bag in a bin and you want an extra bag added in.

donquixotedelamancha · 03/11/2020 15:31

@TibetanTerrier

I flush it down the toilet, where mine goes.

WTF? A couple of years ago several hundred thousand people in west Lancashire were without drinking water for months because an animal disease got into the human water table. Dozens, perhaps hundreds were sick before it was realised why. You could kill people.

OP is officially no longer the oddest person on this thread.

timeforanewstart · 03/11/2020 15:32

@NeilBuchananisBanksy what do you so that makes such an impact then?
I do what I can do and if i never did any of these things and none of us did it would be even worse

OP posts:
timeforanewstart · 03/11/2020 15:33

@TheQueef the bin is on foot from my front door

OP posts:
timeforanewstart · 03/11/2020 15:33

@donquixotedelamancha glad mu ocd makes me odd

Yeah, I just saw the ocd comment as you replied. My sympathies OP, mental health difficulties are not fun- I know from experience.

You need to have a clear chat with DH about how you feel and how he can help but you do need to understand that living with us is not an easy ride and he won't understand why you feel that way. He's not done anything wrong- but I'm sure he will want to help you feel comfortable.

When I moved into this house I rang the water company and asked them if I could flush my dogs' poop. They said that as my dogs are fully vaccinated and regularly wormed there's no reason not to flush. I see Anglian Water are also referring to "parasites that are found in animals that have not been wormed".

TheQueef · 03/11/2020 15:39

Ok.
A tip for you.
If you do want to rinse the bin get a bucket of hot water and washing up liquid, empty it in the bin then drag bin to street, empty it down the gutter in the road. Two of my bored neighbours do this.
Don't use any harsh cleaners the road drain is run off water.

TheQueef · 03/11/2020 15:40

Forgot.
Give it a bumpy ride I slosh it.

timeforanewstart · 03/11/2020 15:43

@donquixotedelamancha he does know which is why I am prob more peeved , I wouldn't have a problem if was a bin bag put in without liner i purely use them because these biodegradable bags are quite thin and incase they split
Often liner gets left in several times after emptying
I appreciate to some it seems over the top but as the bin is also one foot from my front door this doesn't help

OP posts:
timeforanewstart · 03/11/2020 15:46

@TheQueef got told off by a neighbour for cleaning bin and tipping down drain
Wouldn't mins but it was purely hot water no chemicals

OP posts:
NetflixWatcher · 03/11/2020 15:48

Didn't know people lined their bins. Probably why mines such a state, I just don't look in it.

TheQueef · 03/11/2020 15:53

Put the neighbour in the black bag.
They are talking rhubarb.
When the bin cleaner washes it that's where the water goes Wink
It isn't perfectly clean, road oil run off etc, it's not the soil pipe though that deals with sewage.
Clean water from your bin or washing up water can go down it, especially from your bin Grin sounds cleaner than my house

timeforanewstart · 03/11/2020 16:00

@TibetanTerrier worming reduces chances but does not guarantee they won'y get them

OP posts:
timeforanewstart · 03/11/2020 16:03

@TheQueef tempting they watch like hawks .
I have two teenagers and a dog so my home is no showhome
And it's funny with my ocd i can be more over the top on one thing ans less concerned about something else others might find worse
Dogs pooh in general is one of them and non smelling bins !!

OP posts:
SunshineCake · 03/11/2020 16:04

Biodegradable bags are pointless if they don't get light as they won't degrade.

Without a liner, where did you expect the rubbish to go until you bought more ?

AlwaysLatte · 03/11/2020 16:05

My husband does this too!! After it's emptied I like to hose it clean and bleach it then put a liner in. He just throws the poo bag straight into an empty bin. Grrr (me, not dog!)
