Standing in massive queues for over an hour to buy fancy cakes is just ridiculous ?

OP posts:
MrsSugar · 10/10/2020 22:59

Don’t stand in the queue for fancy cakes then Hmm
What other people choose to do isn’t your business!

AllPlayedOut · 10/10/2020 23:00

If they contain raisins YANBU. If not YABU.

P.S Where do I find these fancy cakes?

Sparklesocks · 10/10/2020 23:01

How fancy we talking?

MaxNormal · 10/10/2020 23:02

Ooh, where?!

Tillygetsit · 10/10/2020 23:02

Is it ok to queue that long for ordinary cakes?

NailsNeedDoing · 10/10/2020 23:02

Lockdown restrictions make it more likely that people will queue for an hour for a cupcake, they have more time and not as much else to do as they normally would.

WorraLiberty · 10/10/2020 23:04

Hard to tell with absolutely no context whatsoever.

If the cakes were for a special occasion I'd probably do it.

Not sure what the pandemic has to do with it though?

veraismyspiritanimal · 10/10/2020 23:04

Standing in a queue as long as one you'd see for Alton towers for fecking cake? And as for the wally saying well don't do it then- do you realise viruses don't work that way? Oh well she only went to her essential place of work so we won't infect her 🙄

OP posts:
AllPlayedOut · 10/10/2020 23:05

I'd sooner queue for a cake than for Alton Towers. It's much more enjoyable.

Nicknacky · 10/10/2020 23:05

Does it really matter what she was queuing for as long as there was social distancing?

Sparklesocks · 10/10/2020 23:06

Are they social distancing in the queue? As long as they’re not standing bum to crotch I can’t really get worked up about it. I wouldn’t do it personally.

I guess you work in that bakery then OP?

Waxonwaxoff0 · 10/10/2020 23:07

YABU. Stop being such a busybody and mind your business ffs.

veraismyspiritanimal · 10/10/2020 23:09

No I don't work in a bakery
It's in response to comments like 'don't do that then' meaning if you don't choose to take part in high risk activities you will be fine. It doesn't work that way
Then people wonder why we have to have local lockdowns

OP posts:
ghostyslovesheets · 10/10/2020 23:10

what the heck are you on about

Nicknacky · 10/10/2020 23:10

Local lockdowns are not because people have queued for a cake.

Is this what we have become as a nation?

Sitt · 10/10/2020 23:10

Often it’s the restrictions themselves that cause the queues - no more than X customers in a shop etc

Sparklesocks · 10/10/2020 23:11

So you don’t work there, yet you think you speak for the staff who do? Again, is the queue socially distant?
If you want to get upset about people defying rules I assure you there are far worse examples of people taking the piss than standing in a line, facing away from each other.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 10/10/2020 23:12

Queuing is not a high risk activity if it's distanced. Get a fucking grip.

WorraLiberty · 10/10/2020 23:12

I'm pretty sure the comments like 'don't do that then', just meant stop the moaning and misery over other people's shopping habits?

You haven't mentioned lack of PPE or social distancing etc, so to be fair you're just coming across as pretty miserable.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 10/10/2020 23:13

They sell cake at Alton Towers?

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 10/10/2020 23:14

Depends how good the cake is. I have to say, I don't think I could get so angry over someone else doing it though Confused

veraismyspiritanimal · 10/10/2020 23:14

Loitering in large groups is not encouraged. I couldn't have 7 people in my large garden and there would be far more space between each person than there was in a three mile queue to get non essential items
Ridiculous

OP posts:
Nicknacky · 10/10/2020 23:16

They are hardly loitering in a large group. Would it be better if they are queuing for medication or milk?

katy1213 · 10/10/2020 23:16

I want to see a picture of the cake.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 10/10/2020 23:16

YOU are ridiculous.
