Standing in massive queues for over an hour to buy fancy cakes is just ridiculous ?

There's a bakery near where we live that sells a cake called a 'beesting'.

It is mahoosive and filled with confectioner's custard - OMG it did look exceedlingly good (see what I did there). Unfortunately for me I'm prediabetic so basically all cakes are off the menu for me.

However - when I'm old and have given up trying to do low carb (possibly around 15 years from now) i would definitely queue for a beesting cake. Ahhh - assuming they're still being made.

Confused

@veraismyspiritanimal - no the people are not being ridiculous - they are being logical.

OlympicProcrastinator · 11/10/2020 12:28

That's the thing nobody would go and stand in a queue for hours for medicine. They would go back when it was safe

I would stand in a que for medicine.
I’d also stand in a que for cake.

If you put my favourite medicine in a cake I may even set up a tent and wait overnight.

@AllPlayedOut

I just got an advert for raw cakes! Who wants a raw cake? I feel so insulted.
What the Merry hell is a raw cake?!?

I queued for fortnum and masons yesterday. They also sell nice cakes but I just bought marmalade instead.

@Belladonna12

The cakes must be very very nice if people are willing to queue for that long. There is a cake place like that near me. I haven't queued myself (I'm not that bothered about cake) but we have very low covid rates compared with the rest of the city which doesn't have nice cake shops. This leads me to think that the cake shop is not causing a surge infections.
Quick, get onto Boris and tell him everyone needs to eat more fancy cake to protect us all... Grin

YABU. Queuing up for fancy cake is so much more worth it than marmalade. You could at least have compromised and gone for Jaffa cakes.
