to think you only buy a LV handbag to show off how wealthy you are?

I'm not disputing their quality, as having watched a lot of construction videos they do seem reasonably well-made, but the monogrammed "leather" is just so ugly.

A bog-standard tote will set you back £1200 - handmade bags made by lesser known brands/designers in full-grain, veg tan leather would cost less and be far more attractive. (And higher quality too)

Seeing as we wear things to make a statement about ourselves (for the most part) and considering the bags aren't aesthetically pleasing, the statement, in this case, must be "look how much money I have"?

Scandinavian can be a bit earnest.

Scandinavians...

Yes, because the monogram is so obviously obvious.

I have a LV handbag,i bought for myself 16 yrs ago. I had always wanted one. I had been working full time for 17 yrs at that time and treated myself. I have only used it twice in 17 yrs! It was a kind of reward to me from me. It is still as new. You got fancy LV notepaper and envelopes as well at time of purchase , which i wrote to everyone on at that time!

I paid £360 for this bag at the time, direct from Louis Vuitton shop in London. As it so immaculate, now valued at £2500k! ( i also bought the matching purse at the same time at £160 which i still use daily to this day.) This purse still going strong after 17 yrs. Used daily and still looks good.

Apart from my house, best purchases i ever made.

@Meepmeeep Thank you. I never use the bag but the purse is well worn and aged.

I have raised 2 DC's now with this purse! This purse has had a lot of use and been out many times! Testament to the quality .
