Break the law, admit it in court, go to prison. Simple. Not sure what the sad faces and holding the photo is all about.

Thank you Downwithcovid I love a good accent Smile

@croon979

Oh don’t be worried DownwithCovid - maybe just read up on the Manx rules, which they broke.

Anyway, the IOM accent is terrible, I will admit

But they were key workers so don’t need to “self isolate”. I am more than aware of the rules - I help enforce them

Manx Accent is kind of a cross between Scouse and Irish.
That clip, John Kennaugh what a lovely man he was. Very much missed in the community
The Isle of Man Government website has lots of good information about relocating to the Island.

DownwithCovid - we are on the same team pal. This is not about point-scoring. I was merely making the point about these guys breaking the rules. I was not making a general point about key workers. When I referred to the need to self-isolate, I meant they were not able to travel wherever they wanted to when they arrived on the IOM.

Ah ok. Typical Manx lawyer then - say one thing and mean another because “self-isolate” is pretty specific and clearly doesn’t apply to people sharing rooms and vans.

Lighthearted by the way, just made me smile.

A Study Of The Manx Dialect, very funny

croon979 · 06/10/2020 20:50

just going with the description on the majority of press articles which is that they had failed to “self-isolate” without getting into the detail. Although clearly regretting it now 😂. Still, at least I live up to the Manx lawyer rep...😂👍

All the people going on about them wearing masks and whether masks stop you transmitting the virus are completely missing the point. Mask wearing is irrelevant in this case whether they protect against the virus or not. They were arrested for breaking the restrictions that they agreed to by signing a document when they arrived. Whether they wore mask or not ( which unlike in the UK is not a legal requirement on the IOM) is neither here nor there.

PercyKirke · 07/10/2020 01:00

As anyone who has worked there knows, the IOM is the original "zero tolerance" state. Got off lightly is my thought.

I'm still getting adverts for IoM ferries!
