That seems a lot

So I’m wondering if it’s true

In a very unscientific poll

YABU = not xmas shopping yet
YANBU = yes I’m shopping for Christmas

I've finished mine Grin

Titsywoo · 02/10/2020 23:31

I would think it is more than a third - even if it's just buying a couple of bits.

ZiggyStarburst · 02/10/2020 23:31

Vote suggests 3/4 MNers so far Smile

I am shopping a bit. I bought DC advent calendars and have some little things for DH’s stocking.

SirSamuelVimes · 02/10/2020 23:32

Started about a month ago - just picked up one thing for DD - but am properly starting this month. I can't do it all out of one paycheck anyway, but I'm also aware that stock & deliveries might be buggered up by Covid so don't want to be last minute.

DueNumberTwo · 02/10/2020 23:33

I've always started mine a few months before and want to be extra organised this year as I'm due a baby in Nov

Funnyface1 · 02/10/2020 23:34

Planning on starting in next couple of weeks.

Rebelwithallthecause · 02/10/2020 23:35

I’m guessing if this was a website predominantly visited by menfolk that the vote might be the opposite direction Grin

I've always started Christmas shopping by now as I can't afford to do it all at the last minute.

StoneFacedCrone · 02/10/2020 23:37

I bought a couple of pressies tonight- my first.

gardeningirl · 02/10/2020 23:39

Yep I’ve started - buying tie dye set & lots of white tank tops for DDs Xmas stocking this eve😊

imissthesouth · 02/10/2020 23:39

YABU, I dread christmas this year. I'll drag myself to the shops december 1st😂

TenShortStories · 02/10/2020 23:39

I have. Reason being that it's exclusively being done online, and I suspect there will be much more online shopping this year than normal for obvious reasons. If some people can get in there early then it's spread the burden on the shops and postal services out a bit and hopefully we'll all get everything we want, delivered on time!

Bumble84 · 02/10/2020 23:39

I always start mine this early as well, or at least start writing lists of what to buy people. I can’t deal with the stress of leaving it till the last minute! Plus I love wrapping everything the same day I put my tree up so that I can fill underneath the tree with pressies 😃

Pipandmum · 02/10/2020 23:42

I probably bought the first present back in April. I see something I think someone would like and I buy it.

AgeLikeWine · 02/10/2020 23:42

No I’m not shopping for bloody Christmas yet. Nor will I until December, on principle.

Leaannb · 02/10/2020 23:42

I'm also done

BashfulClam · 02/10/2020 23:42

Always start mine in September. My two close friends have birthdays in mid December and it’s an expensive month in general so the more I do know the better. Want to get DH’s but I need to get wrapping paper so I can hide it.

Very good point!

My kids are sorted! As is DH, just adults in my family to buy for (hoping someone suggests we do adult secret Santa)

SchrodingersImmigrant · 02/10/2020 23:53

A bit by bit is just so much more relaxing than running around in December😁 December is for chilling with fairylights😁

MuchTooTired · 02/10/2020 23:54

I’m normally a Christmas Eve kind of woman, but I’ve made a really great start on it already. I think it’s because it gives me something to look forward to that’s ‘normal’ even though it’s all different and my DTs are more able to understand presents this year!

fastandthecurious · 02/10/2020 23:55

I've always started by now. I save all year and then start in September. My job gets really busy in December so don't have time to wait until then nor do I like rushing round the shops last minute and I definitely won't be this year with everything going on

emptyshelvesagain · 02/10/2020 23:56

I can't vote as I'm on the app but I am about halfway done. That's normal for me though.

Ponoka7 · 02/10/2020 23:57

As well as nearly being done, present wise, I've got our Christmas treats/chocolate and alcohol in already. As soon as M&S get mince pies and stuff, in date for over Christmas, I'm going to be buying them.

I get my real tree from the same place every year and have put my order in already.

Janevaljane · 02/10/2020 23:59

All those who've finished - don't you get things people want? Or do you just buy random things? My teens often would like special things and make lists. I don't ask them to make lists in August!
