After years of infertility (involving surgery, TSI, chemical pregnancies and a clotting disorder) and IVF, we're having a baby. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, we did NIPT and it all came back clear. And it's a boy! We're so, so thrilled. He has a beautiful heartbeat which I can hear on my doppler as well as having seen it on scans. He had the hiccups on the last scan, which was adorable.

Please indulge me and tell me lovely things about your little boys. (We'd have been just as happy with a girl. It just makes it feel so much more real to know that he is a he, if that makes sense.)

He is a preschooler now, very very loving, great company, very funny. I’ve learnt so much about dinosaurs, trains and diggers He’s also a whirlwind of energy which has advantages and disadvantages.

Babyroobs · 13/09/2020 12:44

Congratulations on your pregnancy op. We have 3 boys after being told we would not be able to conceive naturally. They are all teenagers now but were gorgeous when they were little.

QueenofmyPrinces · 13/09/2020 12:46

There was a thread on here a few weeks ago which was pretty similar to this in terms of wanting to hear the good things about having boys.

The thread was wonderful - I think it was my favourite ever thread - because reading page after page of mothers gushing over their sons was heart warming.

I have no idea how advanced search works, but if you you could try and find the thread and it will warm your insides.

Congratulations on your pregnancy Flowers

DS is 15 now but he is lovely and still hugs his mum. Boys are definitely easy going and much easier than girls in my experience.

whiskersonkittenss · 13/09/2020 12:46

My little boy is 6 months and hes hilarious and so loving. He loves a cuddle and kiss and is such a daddy's boy!! The cats are his favourite thing in the world even if he does scream in delight when he sees them and scares them off Grin

Proudboomer · 13/09/2020 12:47

My two little boys are adults now and even though I am biased they are good, loving, hard working young men.
The best years of my life were bring them to adulthood.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 13/09/2020 12:49

My baby is 4 now and just the most loving child. Lots of cuddles and he is so appreciative of the things I do for him. Last night he declared me the best ever cook Grin

He is my favourite person in the world, I love spending time with him.

WhenPushComesToShove · 13/09/2020 12:50

Congratulations to you. My firstborn has grown into the kindest most wonderful capable and loving man I could ever have dreamed of. My second was always and continues to be an absolute joy, beautiful and such fun. I'm so blessed.

ValidUser · 13/09/2020 12:50

Thanks @QueenofmyPrinces. I'll search!

@whiskersonkittenss we have a pile of cats! They're quite nervous and won't go outside, so we're building them a catio for when he arrives so they can get some peace. Can't wait for him to meet them.

Thanks everyone. Lovely to read!

DS14 is taller than me now, and has moved into that odd no-mans-land of not quite being a child but not quite being an adult. It struck me during lockdown that actually we're almost there with him - he's almost the finished article. Of course he'll continue to grow and evolve, but it was lovely to realise that he's just a good guy. He's kind, loving and has so many wonderful values. It's incredible because it only seems a short time since we were playing with Brio and laughing at his nativity, but he's truly evolved into a lovely, lovely young man.

It's one of the proudest moments I've ever had, watching him and realising his utter loveliness.

TeddyBeans · 13/09/2020 12:51

Congratulations! My DS is 2 and he's the most divine, cuddly, happy go lucky little guy ❤️ he loves puddles, trains and reading books in bed. He dances whenever there's a song he likes and gets so excited when he sees bugs and animals. I could gush about him all day ❤️

You're going to love having a boy (not saying you wouldn't love having a girl) but I'm biased!

unimaginativeusernamehere · 13/09/2020 12:51

I have a just turned 4yo boy and am 30 weeks pregnant with our second boy now, we're delighted.

My son is my best friend, he's so so loving. Every day he tells me I'm beautiful and that he loves me. Every time he's out for a walk he'll find me a 'present' - a flower, feather, shell, shiny stone etc.
He wants to help me with the housework all the time, he sings me songs about how much he loves me, he sings and talks to my baby bump and talks about how much he's going to love his brother and all of the things he's going to help me with.

He's also so brave, adventurous, playful and funny. I love watching him play with other children. He's so confident and friendly.

Congratulations op Smile

Sexnotgender · 13/09/2020 12:53

My little boy is 19 months and the cutest, cheekiest faced most adorable little boy ever.

He’s gentle and cuddly and his laugh fills my heart with joy.

I’m 10 weeks pregnant and hoping it’s another boy.

unimaginativeusernamehere · 13/09/2020 12:54

Oh and the other day ds was busy telling me that he will want to live with me even when he's grown up and will only ever want to kiss me and will only think I'm beautiful Grin

This was in response to having a chat about his grandparents being our parents and why we didn't live with them etc.

BaylisAndHardon · 13/09/2020 12:55

Laughing at catio Grin Grin Grin

Aebj · 13/09/2020 12:55

My boys are awesome. However ds1 is doing physics and chemistry ATAR ( like A level) and I can’t cook anything without it turning into one big science lesson , I don’t quite understand 🤣

Cynara · 13/09/2020 12:56

My beautiful boy is five, he's the most loving little soul and climbs into bed with me every morning to give me kisses and cuddles and tell me that he loves me! He also thinks I'm beautiful and tells me that all the time, it's gorgeous! He makes up sweet little songs about how much he loves me (sometimes they're hilarious, like "I love the Mama mama" to the tune of "I like to move it move it"). He's very gentle and kind with our pets and refers to the cat as his brother. Obviously, he can be an absolute pain in the arse on occasion, but he's honestly the light of my life, I adore him. Congratulations on your pregnancy and on the discovery of your lovely baby boy!

MrsR16 · 13/09/2020 12:56

@ValidUser I'm unbelievably thrilled that you've finally got your BFP!! Huge congratulations! All of us on the old TTC board know how much this is wanted 😊 I've now got a 9 month old boy and he's brilliant! He's so fearless (which panics me but DH was the same when he was little) and super smiley and just great fun. You definitely need to pop onto the post natal group at some point 😊 xx

YouJustDoYou · 13/09/2020 12:57

My now 7 year old was a horrific baby on the hard-core difficulty setting. He is now a sweet, kind, empathic little boy who writes me notes to find aroundthe house, telling me how much he loves me.

LienD · 13/09/2020 12:58

Congrats! I have a 4 year old and he's adamant he'll marry me one day. He thinks I'm the best cook ever and compliments me when I'm wearing a dress: 'mom, you're soooooo pretty. Like a princess! '

And he wants to become a daddy as funny and cool as his own.

He talks non-stop about anything: cars, dinosaurs, his friends....

He's adventurous and funny and just the best thing ever!

startrek90 · 13/09/2020 12:59

My two boys are 6 and 4 and are without a doubt the greatest gifts I have ever received. My eldest is so funny and loving to his brother and his new sister. My youngest boy is the sweetest most polite child you will ever meet. They drive me crackers at times but there is no way I would ever want to be without them.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. You are going to love your little boy more than anything

AGoatAteIt · 13/09/2020 12:59

My “baby” boy is 9 now and is the sweetest, kindest, funniest and most thoughtful person you could wish to meet and he has always loved his cuddles and been very affectionate from when he was a baby. The world is a better place with him in.

Amrythings · 13/09/2020 13:00

Mine is fourteen months and is currently having his nap on me, just like when he was tiny. He's learned how to give kisses recently, and shamelessly deploys them as a distraction if he thinks he might be going to have to go to bed, or get his nappy changed. And he tries to share all his food with all comers. He's a gorgeous, sunny, shouty, rampaging lunatic.

PlateTectonics · 13/09/2020 13:02

My boys are awesome! DS1 is funny, DS2 is cuddly and they are both active and happy and kind. Congratulations OP!

ValidUser · 13/09/2020 13:06

@MrsR16 so lovely to hear from you and congratulations on your boy!
