After years of infertility (involving surgery, TSI, chemical pregnancies and a clotting disorder) and IVF, we're having a baby. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, we did NIPT and it all came back clear. And it's a boy! We're so, so thrilled. He has a beautiful heartbeat which I can hear on my doppler as well as having seen it on scans. He had the hiccups on the last scan, which was adorable.

Please indulge me and tell me lovely things about your little boys. (We'd have been just as happy with a girl. It just makes it feel so much more real to know that he is a he, if that makes sense.)

Congratulations Op! Boys really are the most wonderful, cuddly, kind, caring, boisterous, loud and funny individuals. We have 2 boys and another baby on the way but we haven’t found out this time. You’ll love that baby boy so much, it will actually hurt. You will melt as he snuggles into you and gives you those newborn cuddles. You’ll kiss every single bit of him. He’ll make you laugh, smile and just so so happy. He’ll drive you up the wall, especially if you have friends with little girls who sit and play quietly on the floor. When he calls Mama when he’s having a bad dream, you’ll happily get up and go and give him a kiss and stroke his head until he falls asleep again. Op, you are at the start of the most magical journey of being mummy to your own gorgeous little prince. I’m sure you’ll treasure every minute. Good luck x

Thanks so much everyone. I've been in floods of happy tears reading these! Not sure it worked but I attached a picture of his 10 week scan. I think he's lovely.

Congratulations!!

I have twin boy toddlers. They are the most gorgeous little people.

One is incredibly independent. He loves to explore and if he feels he's able to do something he's more than happy for no interference! But every now and then he'll come to me for a snuggle or to pat my head. He is also a big boob man and loves nothing more than sitting facing me squishing my boobs and belly then pointing to his chest! He's recently blossomed into a very cheeky monster and it's lovely seeing his confidence grow around others.

My other boys is very sensitive. He adores cuddles, holding hands, he can't sit close enough to me. But he also is very athletic and loves bouncing, scootering, running around like a lunatic. Hes a very open little boy and wears his heart on his sleeve - completely different from his brother.

They have the most gorgeous little men feet. One boy calls me 'mum' the other 'nanny' (speech delay). They love each other dearly and I can't wait to see how they grow together.

You have a lot of fun ahead of you (once you get over the killer newborn phase!)

My baby boy is now a big high schooler, but he still wraps his arms round me and tells me he loves me "so so much mummy". Not that he'd be caught dead doing that in front of his mates!

He is incredibly affectionate and cuddly. He's kind, makes time for little kids, he is passionate about BLM, champions kids with disabilities, loves skateboarding, scooting and mountain biking. He is popular with his year group because he's so friendly, not because he is "popular". He never has a bad word to say about anyone. He's the absolute worst at going to bed at night because he just wants to stay up talking, showing me things, telling me about recipes and stuff he's seen on Instagram and wants to try out. He sees the joy in life. He is the joy in my life.
