To ask you to tell me lovely things about your baby boys?

After years of infertility (involving surgery, TSI, chemical pregnancies and a clotting disorder) and IVF, we're having a baby. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, we did NIPT and it all came back clear. And it's a boy! We're so, so thrilled. He has a beautiful heartbeat which I can hear on my doppler as well as having seen it on scans. He had the hiccups on the last scan, which was adorable.

Please indulge me and tell me lovely things about your little boys. (We'd have been just as happy with a girl. It just makes it feel so much more real to know that he is a he, if that makes sense.)

My ds is nearly 10 now, but he is the most sensitive, caring child I have ever met, he worships his little sisters & always helped me with them, he is a massive mummy's boy, he knows me so well, he knows if I'm sad, or upset, or really happy, without me saying anything, & always, always gives me loads of kisses & cuddles! He is also so in sync with his dad too, he is just so wonderful!

He can be such a tornado too, it's exhausting, but so rewarding!

He knows EVERYTHING about dinosaurs, (so much so that my first question to people now is often, 'what is your favourite dinosaur?' & I'll admit I will sometimes judge them in their choice!🤣🤣) he has known from the moment he could talk that he wants to be a palaeontologist & he is so passionate about what he loves, more than anyone I have ever met.

I love all of my children equally, my two girls are my heart, but my boy is my soul.

Congratulations OP 🎉

MrGreenTurtle · 13/09/2020 18:42

@Yeahnahmum fgs, there is always one. Everyone is enjoying this thread, why try and piss on OPs and posters parade.

You read the OP wrong imo, it doesn't suggest anywhere that she's disappointed with having a boy Hmm

Really enjoying reading these Smile ❤️

AuntyMabelandPippin · 13/09/2020 18:58

Congratulations!

I have four of the little bleeders, all grown up now.

They were just the cuddliest, happiest wee souls when they were small. Never much bother, apart from the odd under age drinking (keep an eye out for that!).

They've grown up to be lovely, empathetic lads who love to come home and see their parents. I've really missed having them here with lockdown.

DalzielandPaxo · 13/09/2020 19:02

He’s an absolute joy and has a special soft-eyed, raised-eyebrow, cooing face that he reserves just for me.

Angrymum22 · 13/09/2020 19:16

DS was a much longed for baby so I think I would have put with anything he threw at us. But the reality was a content and happy baby, toddler, primary schooler and an easy going teenager. He is just about to turn 16 and I spent the morning watching him at rugby training remembering the lead up to his birth and feeling so lucky that he has come so far without causing us many headaches.
Boys are very loving and tactile although 14-16 is an interesting period. He now towers above me and the only time he is grumpy is when he is hungry, which is currently 24/7.
I still occasionally sneak in to watch him sleeping usually with the dog snuggled up to him.

Lndnmummy · 13/09/2020 19:26

My two boys are my world. I well up just writing that. They are 8 and 2 now and they are the most loving and beautiful souls. The way they show their love is just breathtaking. I’m so proud of them I could burst.

Ori82 · 13/09/2020 19:29

Congratulations, you have been blessed. I have two sons and they’re snuggle monsters. They love a cuddle & I can’t get enough of them.

PolloDePrimavera · 13/09/2020 19:31

DS is 7 and he is like a fun, loving and adorable puppy. He's uncomplicated and easy to live with. He will argue with me that he loves me more than I love him and will get upset if I tell him there's no chance of this... His friends are also super cute and sweet things. He doesn't stop talking and is quite the mansplainer, but he's very endearing. Congratulations!

Mimitoo · 13/09/2020 19:48

My DS is almost 9. He is kind, thoughtful and conscientious. He works hard at school, is super sporty and amazing at maths. He definitely has an adventurous side and has been lucky enough to travel a lot with his Dad, although he also enjoys quiet afternoons at home with us or his grandparents. Whilst he argues with his sister as any siblings do, they are also best buddies and he makes her laugh so much with their little in jokes. I couldn't be more proud of the person he is turning out to be and I genuinely enjoy spending my time with him.

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 13/09/2020 19:51

My little boy is the cutest, loveliest, snuggliest thing in the world. He tells me he loves me so many times a day and picks me flowers daily. He's the best.

DrCoconut · 13/09/2020 20:01

My boys are gorgeous. DS1 is nearly 22 now but still loves his mum ❤️

redgin · 13/09/2020 20:08

My 2 boys are grown men with families of their own. But still adorable, cheeky, funny little mischief makers in my eyes. Being their mum when they were little was the best time of my life.
Enjoy every moment. It goes so fast and when you look back you wish you could do it all again

VestaTilley · 13/09/2020 20:32

Congratulations, OP!

I hope it all goes very well for you.

We have 17 month old DS. He’s a joy. But he’d have been just as much of a joy if he’d been a girl- and we like to think we treat him the same/parent him the same if he’d been a girl.

Candycats · 13/09/2020 20:43

Congratulations on your little boy OP! This thread is so lovely. My son is 18 months old and is just my favourite person in the world. He's funny, loving, clever, generous and strong willed! Not to mention absolutely beautiful (but I am biased of course). His enthusiasm and passion for the most random things (currently vans, which he shouts in his loudest voice whenever possible) makes me smile every day. I feel very privileged to be his mum and am so excited to watch him grow up.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 13/09/2020 20:48

We had a daughter, and she gave us a grandson. The last three years have been the happiest of my life. Read more here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/2955799-To-clap-my-hands-and-skip-about-in-a-elephantine-manner

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 13/09/2020 20:55

I have 3 children, one son aged 2.5

He is a very comical little fellow. Extremely polite, but also a cracking sense of humour. Loads of energy but also quite physically cautious and a bit mal-coordinated. His emotions are very close to the surface, so he laughs and cries easily. He gets scared of random things really easily, like his duvet or a character on Numberblocks.

He is very affectionate and cuddly, and loves to blow raspberries on my cheeks. DH is a PT SAHD and they have a great relationship.

He had some difficult times after birth due to hospital mismanagement and subsequent NICU stay, but at 2.5 he is a little shining star and I love him so much Star

Pesimistic · 13/09/2020 21:08

@FudgeBrownie2019

DS14 is taller than me now, and has moved into that odd no-mans-land of not quite being a child but not quite being an adult. It struck me during lockdown that actually we're almost there with him - he's almost the finished article. Of course he'll continue to grow and evolve, but it was lovely to realise that he's just a good guy. He's kind, loving and has so many wonderful values. It's incredible because it only seems a short time since we were playing with Brio and laughing at his nativity, but he's truly evolved into a lovely, lovely young man.

It's one of the proudest moments I've ever had, watching him and realising his utter loveliness.

That is beautiful, my son is 7 and a half and hes starting to 'grow up' now, hes still a little boy but getting to the big boy stage where mummy is embarasing to him, so every cuddle is extra important. I dont want to rush time i wish I could stay here forever but I'm so excited to see him grow up
Legallybleachblonde · 13/09/2020 21:44

Congratulations OP! I have one gorgeous DS5. He was an IVF baby on our 4th and final try. He is kind, thoughtful, funny, cheeky and very affectionate. I am a very proud Mum and can't imagine life without him 😊

BillywigSting · 13/09/2020 21:52

My little boy is nearly 7 and is the sweetest, funniest little chatter box ever.

Also, when he was a baby, and he was all clean and dry and comfy and having a cuddle and a bottle of milk, his big toe would stick up in contentment.

He still does the toe thing now when he's feeling all peaceful and happy.

He's now all muddy wellies, big sticks, interesting leaves and lego creations and I wouldn't have him any other way.

Sweetooth92 · 13/09/2020 21:56

My two boys are my absolute world. I was so thrilled when DS2 was another boy. They’re 2.5 & 8 months now and the most loving, cuddly, cheeky little duo and I cannot wait to be a part of them growing up. My eldest is obsessed with trains, tools and is fearless. Rides his bike like lightning without a worry or a care in the world. I’m biased but they’re the most perfect two boys in the world

SaltedCaramelEverything · 13/09/2020 21:57

“I picked you flowers because I love you mummy”
“Where’s my morning cuddle”
“You’re the most beauty girl in my life”
“My favourite colour is pink like my nanny”
Just some of the cute things my now 3 year old boy has said to me in the last week or 2. I’ve started writing them down so I remember them!
Huge congratulations Star

cosmo30 · 13/09/2020 22:02

My little boy is 5 and Extremely loving ! Loves a cuddle and a kiss and is so cute. Always telling me I'm cute and his girl!

Bunnybigears · 13/09/2020 22:02

My baby biys are 13 and 10 now. My 13 year old is actuqlly the funniest person I have ever met he is very witty and comes out with things that are way beyond his years. My 10 year old boy is a little pocket rocket never sits still excels in sports and is generally a very boyish boy, still takes his bear to bed with him every night though.

TwixTwixtwoo · 13/09/2020 22:08

Not actually my baby boy, my grandson but my first baby boy as I only have DD. He's almost 1 and the absolute light of my life, completely different to DD as a baby and a real ball of energy but utterly joyous to be around. Massive congrats OP, you have so much to look forward to Smile

Zerrin13 · 14/09/2020 00:15

My beautiful baby boy is now 16. He towers over me and I find it amazing because me and his dad arnt tall. His trainers are huge! He has the appetite of a donkey. He was a beautiful baby and now he is such a handsome young man.
