Apparently there wasn't enough butter to make his sandwiches.

I'll attatch a photo, please do let me know what you think. I'm not taking him seriously, obviously.

When I said that there quite clearly is enough for two ham sandwiches he said "well I just like alot of butter" and chose to leave without any sandwiches at all and a face like a slapped arse.

I suspect he's got the ump about the fact that my DM had sandwiches here this afternoon and is blaming her for the lack of butter (I never use it)

So just for my amusement..

YABU - there isn't enough
YANBU - there's plenty

There doesn't look like much there. Is that butter? Looks like margarine, and the less of that the better.

dementedpixie · 11/09/2020 23:06

Nothing like cutting your nose off to spite your face!

Buttr · 11/09/2020 23:06

Margarine/butter is all the same to me as I don't eat it Grin

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/09/2020 23:07

That’s margarine. HIBVU to eat the vile stuff.

GoldfishParade · 11/09/2020 23:07

Why didnt he just moisten it with something else as well like mayo or salad cream. Or just buy sandwiches as a one off.

Yaottie · 11/09/2020 23:07

Nope there's plenty there!

GoldfishParade · 11/09/2020 23:08

Also why are you solely responsible for ensuring theres enough butter in the house?

HistoriaTrixie · 11/09/2020 23:08

He doesn't need to pile it on a cm thick! Of course there's enough.

biffyboom · 11/09/2020 23:09

I Can't Believe It's Not Better....

PickAChew · 11/09/2020 23:11

I guess it's spreadable butter. I just use mayo if my filling is too dry.

Bargebill19 · 11/09/2020 23:12

Yanbu plenty there. He is being unreasonable by having the stuff in sandwiches full stop. Proper butter on toast only!!

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 11/09/2020 23:12

use mayonnaise instead - or make a ham and egg fritatta in the microwave.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/09/2020 23:13

That looks like enough spread for one sandwich. But ham doesn't really need it, I'd have buttered one slice of bread per sandwich if I'd have been him.

He should make sure he buys more butter (or puts it on the list if you do all the shopping) well before it's nearly finished.

FingersCrossedForAllOfUs · 11/09/2020 23:14

If you don’t eat it why is he getting the ump with you? I assume his little legs can take him to the shop can’t they?

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 11/09/2020 23:14

take the ham & bread, buy butter on the way to work

Buttr · 11/09/2020 23:17

Of course the logical thing to do would be to spread it thinly and add something like salad cream or mayonnaise as suggested above.

The problem with that is, doing so would mean he couldn't then have his huff about the lack of butter.

He took some money to work instead then huffed how having to buy sandwiches there will waste his break time (overnight retail)

OP posts:
Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 11/09/2020 23:17

No way is there enough for two ham sandwiches. If he's lucky he might manage one if he scrapes it on thinly. I would say that would actually do only one piece of bread so 1/2 sandwich.

CandyLeBonBon · 11/09/2020 23:18

Loads of butter. He just needs to work a bit harder

CandyLeBonBon · 11/09/2020 23:19

Or in other words; 'I can't believe he's being a bugger about butter'

RevolutionRadio · 11/09/2020 23:20

I agree with him, it'd probably make 1.

1stMrsF · 11/09/2020 23:21

I don't think the issue is the lack of margarine butter.

Buttr · 11/09/2020 23:21

He wasn't getting the ump with me personally, more so expressing his annoyance at the amount of it left.

The ump will be with my DM who has caused him 'inconvenience' by using it. He didn't say so directly but I know that's what it is.

I'm not going to begrudge my mother a sandwich unfortunately for him.

As of tomorrow he's being told to buy double the amount if it bothers him so much.

OP posts:
Biancadelrioisback · 11/09/2020 23:22

Ah, I'm with him I'm afraid however I wouldn't have huffed off with no food. I'd have made my little sandwich and eaten it and been unreasonably miffed but not mention it.
Deffo not enough spread there for a canny sarnie.

HowFastIsTooFast · 11/09/2020 23:25

He is being unreasonable to eat margarine in the first place Confused

Buttr · 11/09/2020 23:25

I will say I'm surprised some think there's only enough for one! I must be a really tight git when it comes to spreading on my DC's toast as I could get plenty of slices buttered from that Grin
