To ask how many friends you have?

I was thinking today about it I’ve only got two. I occasionally chat to a few others but they aren’t friends. Has this changed as you got older? I used to a big group of friends till my mid 20’s

I had a really big group of friends until my mid twenties as well, things changed and we drifted apart and fell out etc. I have my best friend who I known since I was 11, my work bestie and another friend I met while travelling who lives the other end of the country so we meet up once or twice a year. I would like more friends, and to have a group again tbh.

I have one best friend of 17 years, two very close friends from previous work places and 1 very close friend from the gym.. That's who I would call friends.. The rest are just people I know!

I have a lot of people i'd call friends, but only 2 or 3 people i could call good/close friends i can trust. I don't see them as often as I like as i live the other side of the country. It's really quite depressing.

4 good close friends, the type I'd call in the middle of the night if I needed them. None of them live near me, the closest is 3 hours away.

Most of my good friends live a way away to be honest. The friends I have locally are more acquaintances, but I'd say I have about 10 friends who live nearby. Combination of school mums, work and just living somewhere for a decade

None. It was only when a friend from school died last year when I realised just much how social media creates a false sense of friendship and knowing people. I text with one person a few times a week, but we don't see each other that often. I have a handful of people I meet up with occasionally for lunch, if we are in the same area, but no actual friends. I am generally pretty shit with the mechanics of both establishing and maintaining friendships tbh.

I have 8 really good friends but unfortunately they are spread far & wide. Locally, I just have acquaintances and no real social life. It’s odd, in some places I’ve lived it’s been easy to make friends but in others, virtually impossible.

I have 2 best friends, and 3 other friends that I'm very close to. They're my core "go to" 5 who I could tell anything to at any time of the day or night and have known them all for years and years.

Then, other friends who I know would still be there if I needed them and who I still see (but less often than the 5 mentioned) I have another 10. These are a mix of people I've known since school and through various jobs over the years.

For context I'm 27. I think it helps that out of all of the above people, only 2 have kids.

I know that some will drift away over time but I will always have my 2 best friends and I'm pretty certain I'll always have my other 3 too!

2 sister's 1 good longterm friend, a few fairweather friends here and there but no best friend that I really click with I did pre DC she moved abroad our life changed it fizzled.

4 very close friends I live close to. We meet up regularly and talk on whatsapp often. I have 4 other local friends I can rely on and share thoughts with. 5 school friends I don't see often as we all moved to different area, but we keep in contact.

A year ago id have said about 15, now after a tough year with family issues id say 3.
When the going gets tough u find out who ur real friends are.
Also iv found as iv got older iv realised i prefer my own company Grin

I used to have loads.
Now... quite a few of these friendships have gone stale.

Really good friends... maybe 6?
