well, am I?

OP posts:
chankins · 05/10/2007 22:13

No - I think that too!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 05/10/2007 22:13

Yes, you are.

satine · 05/10/2007 22:14

Yes!

They're easy to use, comfortable, leak-proof and they are very ecological. And fantastic value for money!

I'm guessing you don't have one?

MsHighwater · 05/10/2007 22:14

I only wish I'd known about mooncups ages ago.

I'm a recent convert and I'm delighted with it. It's so much LESS icky than tampons and pads.

whoops · 05/10/2007 22:14

Don't knock it til you've tried it.
I couldn't use anything else now

Tortington · 05/10/2007 22:15

no - i couldnt stick anything unhuman up my flange. this includes everything you are thinking at this moment in time.

choosyfloosy · 05/10/2007 22:15

YABU.

Sorry.

What's to WTF about?

Carmenere · 05/10/2007 22:15

They work very well imo. I am happy with mine

taffy101 · 05/10/2007 22:15

i have one, i was a bit sqeamish at first but soon got used to it.

chankins · 05/10/2007 22:17

Are tampons really that bad for the environment ? Don't they just flush away like loo roll ? Curious, but still wouldn't want one.

shimmy · 05/10/2007 22:19

YABU

100 years ago when women were using rags they thought WTF about tampons.

If you actually think about it there is nothing any more yucky or weird about mooncups than about tampons. It's just that we grew up knowing about tampons so that's what seems normal.

try to be a bit more open minded.

SpookyBearistheSpookyBear · 05/10/2007 22:19

I certainly do not have one.

I do not knowingly know any RL people who do.

I would have imagined them to be a 'niche' product.

But they do rather seem to have taken over MN .

Are MNers a bunch of knit-your-own-placenta hippies on the whole?

Am I out of touch?

OP posts:
FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:20

Sheesh, don't flush your tampons! Bin them.

Yes they are bad for the environment

Mooncups are fab - if there was no advantage to the environment I would still choose it every time. Comfortable and clean, and just, well, pleasant to use.

satine · 05/10/2007 22:20

They might flush down the U-bend, chankins, but don't you ever wonder what has to happen after that? They certainly don't dissolve.

Actually, along with panty-liners and condoms, they often end up bobbing around in the sea, or washed up on the shoreline. Nice.

shimmy · 05/10/2007 22:20

loo roll disintegrates. Tampons don't (or they wouldn't work ).

XratedOtter · 05/10/2007 22:20

very childish

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:21

They are a lot LESS icky than tampons. You don't end up with a waste product full of blood that you have to wrap and put in the bin. Stinky bins full of tampons headed for landfill are a bit gross.

whoops · 05/10/2007 22:23

mooncups don't leak like tampons do and therefore causing less worry that everyone will know af has arrived!

moljam · 05/10/2007 22:23

we end up paddling with the tampons thats what happens to them!.i dont use a mooncup,i use fairy hammocks-am i even bigger wtf??!!!

scarybee · 05/10/2007 22:24

I have come across tampons while diving

I have never yet spotted a mooncup

JoFan · 05/10/2007 22:24

so, erm, how exactly do they work? how do you clean one when changing it?

explain, explain...

SpookyBearistheSpookyBear · 05/10/2007 22:24

What's a fairy hammock?

OP posts:
chankins · 05/10/2007 22:24

Spooky consider yourself told off, and me too. Still don't want one though. Don't care if I'm childish thanks.

Gingerbear · 05/10/2007 22:26

I wish they would make a moonbucket.
My cup runneth over.
When you have taken a child for a walk on a beach and had to scarper sharpish due to flotsam of tampons, panty liners and condoms, you too will consider the bountiful merits of a mooncup.

Phoebesmum21 · 05/10/2007 22:27

meh? mooncups?!! im intrigued and disturbed as to what this might be!!! heehee 'flange' might have to start using that not quite as nice as 'lady garden' tho!
