And what phone that's for?

I got an amazing deal on black Friday 2 years ago. I got 100GB data, Unlimited calls and texts and the Note 9 for £36 a month.

I'm looking to upgrade now for a similar plan and I'm being quoted around the £55 mark.

So I'm curious what you have and what you pay?

I bought my phone and pay £10 a month for GiffGaff 6GB of data unlimited texts and calls.

wannabebump · 24/08/2020 08:48

£40 a month for an obscene amount of data, unlimited calls etc with an iPhone XR 128gb.

I use the large storage in the phone but I could've got a cheaper tariff if I'd went for the smaller memory. I only pay this because I needed a new phone this time (and this actually worked out cheaper than just buying the phone), normally I'm a sim only person for no more than £15 a month.

@Belindabelle

I bought my phone and pay £10 a month for GiffGaff 6GB of data unlimited texts and calls.
Exactly the same as me. Always works out cheaper in the long run to buy outright and have a really small rolling monthly contract. Especially if you tend to hang onto a phone. I had an iPhone SE for years and just upgraded to an 11

Same as epythymy and Belindabelle 👆👆

JammyHands · 24/08/2020 08:53

Also giffgaff but I pay £12 a month for more data.

senua · 24/08/2020 08:54

Another one here on GiffGaff, £6 pcm.

Ginfordinner · 24/08/2020 08:57

Bought phone. 6GB with Plusnet for £8 a month. I never go anywhere near my data limit as there is so much free WiFi around these days.

Parmavioletmum · 24/08/2020 08:57

£36 on 02. 120gb data, unltd calls and texts and the s20 when it came out. I use mobile phones direct. And look for ones that don't have cashback deals as cant be bothered with the faff.

Nquartz · 24/08/2020 08:58

Sim only on Three, unlimited data, loads of minutes & texts for £11 a month.

If you dont have the cash to buy a phone outright try getting an interest free credit card, a phone contract is essentially a high interest loan so you'll always get stung.

Noneformethanks · 24/08/2020 08:59

Also gif gaff. £10 a month.

RoseMartha · 24/08/2020 09:00

Another giffgaff £10 a month here. Own phone now as had it a few years.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 24/08/2020 09:01

Below 25. 20g data (don't need more), calls, texts. It crept up so I am planning to change soon. Found similar for about 15.
That's without phone. I don't buy traditional big brand phones, well OnePlus is now a big brand actually, so I buy separately from manufacturer.

barberousbarbara · 24/08/2020 09:05

I pay £15 per month for 10GB data and unlimited calls & texts with Vodafone. My phone was bought outright as it's much cheaper that way.

Bannerpants · 24/08/2020 09:07

I own my phone and have a Smarty sim in it. Its a one month rolling contract, £10 a month, 30gb data, unlimited calls and texts.

bonjonbovi · 24/08/2020 09:10

The cheapest, latest note is £849, so would be £35pm without having any airtime etc.

Phones are getting ridiculously expensive these days. And don’t last.

DarklyDreamingDexter · 24/08/2020 09:11

£10.99 for 10GB with EE. I very rarely use that unless my home broadband is playing up and can’t use WIFI.

Emeraldshamrock · 24/08/2020 09:12

Do the maths first it is a huge price at the end of the contract, is there a down payment too? I bought my own phone so it is SIM only so €25 a month.

Wejustdontknow · 24/08/2020 09:12

£24 for the phone - iPhone XR
£3.75 each for sims (3 in house) with sky, unlimited calls and texts, 2gb of data, any not used goes into a piggy bank and we currently have around 70gb in it, we are very rarely somewhere without WiFi but the piggy bank comes in useful for holidays

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 24/08/2020 09:13

£6.14 with virgin, A gig of data that rolls over if not all used, unlimited texts and 1000 minutes. I bought my own phone.

pontiouspilates · 24/08/2020 09:13

10gb which rolls over, unlimited calls/texts £10 p/m with Virgin Media.

Parky04 · 24/08/2020 09:14

Sim only, £6 per month through Virgin Media. 3GB worth of data which I never use and unlimited calls and texts. Phone cost me £130 two years ago.

pontiouspilates · 24/08/2020 09:15

Meant to say, phone was bought outright.

Chanel05 · 24/08/2020 09:15

Sim only, £8 per month, unlimited calls, texts and 12GB of data.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 24/08/2020 09:16

I pay £10/mth for 10g data, unlimited calls and texts with EE. My phone is a Motorola and cost about £100 from Argos a few years ago.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 24/08/2020 09:17

Bought my own phone. 6Gb data plus unlimited calls and texts for £7 per month as a Plusnet customer.
