To report this dance studio?

Would I be being unreasonable to report a dance studio to Walt Disney Studios UK as in the past and currently they have /are using various Walt Disney Studios flims as themes for school holiday dance camps and performances and are using songs from the films in performances. They have posted on social media advertising using Disney flims as themes for the dance camps and posting videos of performances to music from Disney films.

I am tired of busy bodies yes URBU

Clymene · 09/08/2020 15:00

Why would you do that?

JorisBonson · 09/08/2020 15:00

And what impact does this have on your life?

Cheeseandlobster · 09/08/2020 15:01

Get a life. You would really do this?

ememem84 · 09/08/2020 15:02

Reporting them because you think they’re breaching some sort of copyright? Do you know for sure that they haven’t been given permission to use said songs in the performances?

If you have concrete evidence then go for it. If you think anything will actually come of it then go for it.

What are you trying to gain? Do you own a rival dance school?

Does you’d child attend a rival dance school and you’re jealous? Was your child rejected from said dance school

justoverthehorizon · 09/08/2020 15:02

Yes. I would def report a small dance studio (is that correct) to a corporation that earns millions churning out tat.

Strawberryloverforlife · 09/08/2020 15:03

YANBU it's a copyright infringement of an asset owned and managed in the UK by Walt Disney Studios UK.
It wouldn't be acceptable if large corporation used another company's asset without permission so why is it acceptable for a dance studio to?

isabellerossignol · 09/08/2020 15:03

How would you know if they have permission anyway?

Do you go round reporting all the small businesses you go into who have the radio on in the office as well?

AIMD · 09/08/2020 15:04

Why? Just why?

tiredanddangerous · 09/08/2020 15:06

Eh? Why?

WorraLiberty · 09/08/2020 15:07

YANBU OP

I can totally understand how devastated you must have been to discover that.

Are you ok? Are you safe? Have you managed to access counselling at all? Do you have any family or friends who can come and be with you right now?

Take care hun, you'd be right to report this atrocious bunch of people Thanks

DimidDavilby · 09/08/2020 15:09

Shit. Best protect the assets of the facist rat.

Mammabearto2 · 09/08/2020 15:09

YABU if anything Disney will view it as free publicity for their brand. I'm a PR manager for a company that produces flims and we get reports about drama and dance groups using them as themes, do we take action? No. We treat it as free publicity for our brand.

minisoksmakehardwork · 09/08/2020 15:09

They may well have purchased a license which allows them to use the music/logos etc. So I would be absolutely certain they haven't before reporting them.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 09/08/2020 15:10

This is up there with one of the most ridiculous threads I've ever read on here.

Do people really think like this? Hmm

justoverthehorizon · 09/08/2020 15:11

The question - what is your motivation?

If it was deemed a copyright infringement then they could be fined a lot of money - more than they could likely afford to continue to keep afloat. So I assume you want to get the studio closed. Why?

Emancipated · 09/08/2020 15:14
