or 6 weeks if they broke quarantine twice.

AIBU to think thank goodness the rules are being enforced, and this should be happening far more widely.

Fines are massive as well, ten thousand £

Smile

This is what we need, a bit of teeth in the regulations

Can't be bothered to read all this crap as this 'NEWS' item was from early April.

Not right then and not right now.

@walker1891 im sorry to hear what happened to you Totally shit. Did you report it? I hope the bastard was charged.

A man orally raped back in the 1940s as a child would have had to keep quiet No help available and likely would have been called an evil child had he dared to speak out then @countrygirl99 knows more as she originally posted about it. Apparently he only felt able to speak about it recently.

To go with the above video

"I've worked in this care home for over two years and I have never seen anything like this when it comes to end of life and writing people off".

A whistleblower from a care home has come forward to tell her story. A powerful watch.

@LastTrainEast

Codexdivinchi I suppose you think it's ok for people to go to prison just for driving home don't you?

Just because someone is drunk doesn't mean you can keep them from using their own car to go to their own house!

They 'as rights they do! they is 'uman rights

Or so says every drunken idiot.

As for not whether they have symptoms that's beside the point. Do you know you are not allowed to drive through a red light even if there's no one about? You don't get to say "oh but it would have been ok this time"

Nice to know that you think dropping Hs is a sign of ignorance.

Driving is a perfect example. We have as a society decided that drink driving isn't OK. It's an offence. Enshrined in law. And enforced. We could reduce road deaths to almost zero by banning cars. We don't. By making the speed limit to 10m/h. We don't.

What's happening at the moment is akin to politicians deciding the speed limit is different every day and one day rich Tories are drink driving but normal people can't drive at 70 on the motorway. The next it's different.

In other places BTW the public health officials are being nominated for awards and their faces are emblazoned on t shirts. People love and trust them. An empathetic, fact based, guidance not enforcement model is possible.

I'm amazed at how happy you are about your rights slowly being taken away..

IOM have been Covid free for 2 months. Schools were back for the last half term. No social distancing. All businesses open, including salons, swimming pools, pubs and clubs.
Borders are shut. Quarantine for 14 days if been away, you will be checked on, you must seek permission to return giving details of where you’ll quarantine.

Who’s lost liberties?

Ah what a surprise. Something about Australia is mentioned so of course it's half truth shite. People were antagonising, baiting and being violent with police.
Of course on MN our police force are just going around smashing cars and we're all terrified.

I live in a corona free city in Oz. My life is normal. I can shop, see friends and relatives, don't have to wear a mask. God what a scary place to live.

HelenaDove yep I reported it and have a confession but the police made excuses and said I would ruin his life. I've never heard from them again since they walked out of my house.

I have found that wearing a mask has given me some security and confidence that I didn't have before when walking around my neighbourhood knowing he lives so close. It has given me my freedom back. It has been a really positive experience for me wearing one.

Criminal law and order for health and safety reasons taken seriously finally!

Let this set a precedent for reckless and selfish Covidiots in neighbouring UK jurisdictions who think they are above the criminal law!

A few days in real lockdown is a very insignificant price to pay if it directly lead to a chain of Covid fatalities!

Covid community transmission only requires one asymptomatic super spreader!

Just to comment on this. I watched this on BBC news on 4 August at 12.23 pm. The dude was describing the measures the police were taking. Was this bullshit?

Was baiting, antagonising and being violent with police include not giving what the police were asking for?

HelenaDove I was orally raped, I have panic attacks, I have asthma, I am suspected autistic.

I wear a mask. Not everyone who falls into the exemption category needs to be exempt. Some I agree with but a lot are using it as a get out clause before trying.

So what would you prefer? My son has autism, not 'suspected', good-old fashioned diagnosed. He can wear a mask. He is one person with autism. Would you rather err on the side of more heavy-handedness? Hmm

Codexdivinchi I suppose you think it's ok for people to go to prison just for driving home don't you?

No I don’t actually. I live in the village where a footballer killed two little boys when he was drink driving.

I also know two young males that killed them selves from drink driving on separate occasions.

You really picked a bad straw man comeback there for me.

So no I don’t equate walking a dog with drink driving.

I’m speechless at the video. Just bloody awful.

There is a lady from my area that has a ten year old som who is severely disabled and is in a care home. Her or her husband hasn’t been able to see him since this started. She’s heartbroken. Careers are going in each day and living with their families at home yet this mother and father can not even get in to see her own ten year old

I don't have IOM experience but do of Guernsey. The people are fiercely proud of their island and independence. I assume IOM is the same. To them they have not lost any liberties and my family and friends cannot believe how some people in the UK are behaving. They are happy that they have total freedom within the Island and are happy that the law
Is protecting them. They are COVID free and aim to keep it that way
