Just went in Morrisons without my mask ....how stupid can you get?

In my own little world.
Mask in bag.
Walked in.
Noticed a few funny looks.
Went to the salad counter.
Girl behind is looking at me funny.
It took me 10 mins to realise I didn't have my mask on my bloody face.
Has anyone else forgot yet ?
Or am I just totally useless

On the day masks became compulsory I told myself about a million times “don’t forget your mask, don’t forget your mask”.

Then I arrived at M&S, got out of the car and noticed a car park full of people wearing masks. Cursed myself and drove home again to get it!

You won't be the first, you won't be the last. I've had to turn around and walk home to get one a couple of times already.

You are unlikely to be the problem. It's the nutter I saw in my local shop yesterday who was loudly slagging off the masks and ended with "WELL I'M NOT WEARING ONE PERIOD!" whilst her daughter (about 12) died slowly inside. People like her are the issue and it's why no matter what the powers that be do, things won't clear up quickly.

I don't think it was any ones business to look at you funny. Sure, you forgot your mask (a fixable issue, or remember next time), but who knows whether you have an exempting condition?

I forget everything. Almost done it a few times too.
When i leave the house now I say phone purse keys and MASK to remind myself.
I have a spare two in the car in case I forget.
Sadly I have a friend who is an anti masker and his posts on fb are getting tedious.

I went to one shop last week, wore my mask. On my walk home decided to nip into another shop, noticed some funny looks and realised I’d forgotten to put my mask on. Easily done.

Because of the way your post is laid out, I automatically read this as a poem OP Giving Carol Ann Duffy a run for her money!

Cut yourself some slack though - we all forget things sometimes!

I walked straight into Pets at Home the other day without mine. Just completely forgot. No one told me either, took me getting half way through the store to realise.

DS (14) went to the library this morning. As he was going downstairs I reminded him about the mask. The eye rolling!! 20 mins later he’s back - forgot the mask didn’t he 🤣

I volunteer in a charity shop. I would guess that 20% of customers do not wear masks. I have been advised not to challenge anyone not wearing one.
a) If they have a medical condition, it is none of our business and
b) we can do without people kicking off - we have had enough abuse as it is owing to restricting the donations we can take.
I had to bite my tongue though when one man came in wearing a mask with a hole cut out for his nose!

I can't wear a mask and the only funny looks I have had are from judgemental customers, all staff have been lovely.

I have two masks in my handbag but haven't yet been out. I can imagine forgetting to put it on. Don't worry, nobody's perfect and you won't be the only one.

I put two in the glove compartment and STILL forgot now have one on the visor which is much better!

We went to pop into Lidl yesterday at the end of our run/scoot. Realised I'd forgotten my mask. Ended up taking off my vest top, making it into a makeshift mask and popping in to grab the two bits I needed wearing shorts and a sports bra. Not my usual supermarket attire!

Over the last week three times either DP or I has walked half way down the road and had to come back for the mask. Yesterday dp did it and I was holding it up for him as he came back through the door.

I've found at the moment there are staff on most shop doors who won't let us in without one but to be fair I could see myself doing this when they relax the checking a bit. Not because I refuse to wear one at all but I am genuinely that forgetful.

I did think it was a bit genius when I saw a vending machine at the front of a shopping centre door selling masks. I probably would have been unimpressed at the price (I didn't bother to check) but did think that was a good idea

I forgot when I went to grab diesel

Dh forgot to put one on when he was paying for petrol, because he wasn't thinking "shop", nobody said anything and if they looked at him funny he didn't notice!

I forgot to put mine on going to pay for petrol. It’s definitely not a habit yet.

Had a fair few in the shop yesterday without a mask. Those exempt were all wearing lanyards with their exemption notes on. A few pulled their collars up over their noses and apologised profusely. Another bought a mask and put it straight on.

It's new. People forget. I'm behind perspex at the till so it doesn't worry me (and I wear a mask when I have to be on the shop floor going to or from the till).

Yesterday I went out to the shop for the first time in ages. Keys, phone, mask, well done me for remembering.

I forgot my bank card 🤦
