Boris Johnson - How many children do you have?

AIBU to think it’s a total joke that, in this year 2020, the man who holds the most senior and influential post in the land (apart from Mr Cummings) AND who has recently become a father again, will not even go so far as to publicly acknowledge how many children he has fathered?

How is it acceptable that his Wikipedia page states - “Children - at least 6.”

He obviously has some kind of silencing injunction out, but why is more not made of this? Does he pay maintenance to his other child / ren or not? Are the CSA not after him?

If he was the subject of some feckless “baby father” MN thread, denying the existence of one or more of his kids, how do we think that thread would go?

More than that, imagine a female PM with a similar Wikipedia profile - “Children - ?” She sound be hauled over the coals and it’s all anyone would ever talk about.

So why does this flaming muppet get away with it and why do we have such low standards for a PM, such as we would not accept within our own families or acquaintances?

Oh but he's a charming, caddish rogue! A bit of hanky panky here and there, no consequence to him, is there?

SoupDragon · 31/05/2020 12:06

imagine a female PM with a similar Wikipedia profile - “Children - ?” She sound be hauled over the coals and it’s all anyone would ever talk about.

Imagine harassing a female PM about how many children she has.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is odd. However, is it actually relevant how many children he has? You aren't allowed to ask about children in a job interview for example as it is irrelevant.

SoupDragon · 31/05/2020 12:07

(I think he's a twat BTW, just in case you thought I was a fan)

Mucklowe · 31/05/2020 12:09

He could have six or sixty as far as I care. Bumbling toff.

Aquamarine1029 · 31/05/2020 12:10

I don't care for the man, but how many children he has is no one's business.

bonsaidragon · 31/05/2020 12:10

Did you see the picture on HIGNFY with him next to a child about age 10 - Boris Johnson's family reunion was the comment along with 'Are you one of mine?' Grin

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 31/05/2020 12:10

He obviously has some kind of silencing injunction out, but why is more not made of this
Maybe there is an injunction. But not necessarily his injunction. And if it were to be a super injunction no one could even acknowledge its existence, even Johnson.

heartsonacake · 31/05/2020 12:11

How many children Boris has is absolutely irrelevant. It doesn’t alter how he does his job.

It really is nobody else’s business.

Fallsballs · 31/05/2020 12:11

I think transparency is important given his role, but yet another example of one rule for Johnson...he can do what the fuck he likes.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 31/05/2020 12:12

I am fascinated by his appeal

He has always been popular

If he gets rid of Dominic Cummings and he will no doubt be popular again

Nothing sticks to his man nothing at all.

No I do not support him or voted for him

Frannyhy · 31/05/2020 12:13

What I don’t get is how his childrens’ mothers found him sexually attractive!

SoupDragon · 31/05/2020 12:14

I think transparency is important given his role

But why do you think transparency about his children is relevant?

PickUpAPickUpAPenguin · 31/05/2020 12:14

I don't care for the man, but how many children he has is no one's business.

The unacknowledged kids would probably prefer "official"status. On the JK style chat shows "denying your child" is on the deadbeat dad checklist

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 31/05/2020 12:14

It's relevant if he's not paying child support. Which we don't know, but I'd be amazed if he is given his track record for dodging responsibility.

itsgettingweird · 31/05/2020 12:14

I get where you're coming from.

The man has slid right down the pole of my estimations this week.

But. It may not be that simple. He probably has paid or does pay. And maybe whoever mothered the child actually wants to protect the child by not
having it public?

I would guess she is probably fairly young if reputation of his lovers/partners applies here.

Blueemeraldagain · 31/05/2020 12:14

I think the man is a bumbling fool but how many kids he has is none of our business. However, the point about a female PM fudging how many children she had is very valid, the press wouldn’t stand for that. They don’t leave BJ alone because it’s the “right thing to do”, it’s because he’s a rich, white, straight man

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 31/05/2020 12:15

I don’t think on MN which is mainly left leaning you will find many that think transparency about his children is irrelevant

SoupDragon · 31/05/2020 12:15

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

It's relevant if he's not paying child support. Which we don't know, but I'd be amazed if he is given his track record for dodging responsibility.
I don't see how he possibly couldn't be paying it due to the potential fall out if it was discovered. I imagine he is paying very well indeed!
OfaFrenchmind2 · 31/05/2020 12:17

Flogging an old horse, heh?
Slow week for you OP?

SoupDragon · 31/05/2020 12:17

And maybe whoever mothered the child actually wants to protect the child by not having it public?

Yes. There are two parents involved here.

LakieLady · 31/05/2020 12:19

Maybe there is an injunction. But not necessarily his injunction

This. If I'd shagged Boris Johnson, I certainly wouldn't want anyone to know that I'd got jiggy with the blubbery buffoon.

RickOShay · 31/05/2020 12:20

Bring back Theresa May.
Never thought I’d say that.

DivGirl · 31/05/2020 12:20

How many kids he has and whether or not people find him sexually attractive is both none of our business and outrageously sexist.

Can you imagine anyone saying the same about a female PM?

Hate him for his policies, hate him for his voting record, hate him for his lack of charisma, but don't think you get the higher ground by publicly announcing that you think he's a deadbeat dad and repulsive.

And yes, there's an injunction so I expect this thread will be removed. It was put in place by BOTH parents to protect the child.

katienana · 31/05/2020 12:21

I think the PM should be a person with good morals and no secrets because then they cant be leaned on or blackmailed

IncrediblySadToo · 31/05/2020 12:21

How many children he has is an irrelevance. I'm FAR more interested in why he's now choosing to do what he said he wouldn't do and 'waste' the lockdown.

Oh and it's acceptable for Wiki to say that, it's full of shit & hasn't any responsibly/accountability.
