Currently struggling to find a tidal entrance song which is acceptable and not cringe!

I really like thousand years but worry it will be associated with Twilight!!

AIBU to ask what your bridal entrance song was!

I walked down the aisle to Otis Redding's version of Cupid. It had a better twinkly piano intro. Mind you we had Aker Bilk during the signing and walked out to sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, so not exactly traditional !Grin

EmbarrassedUser · 11/05/2020 11:34

1000 years was our first dance, loved it. Entrance song was Pachelbel canon in D and when we left it was Accidentally in Love by Counting Crows.

SqidgeBum · 11/05/2020 11:37

I walked down the aisle to 'cant help falling in love with you' by elvis and back up to 'how long will I love you' but the water boys version, not the ellie goulding one. We had two mandolin players (wedding was in Italy) rather than a recording.

BuffaloCauliflower · 11/05/2020 11:39

I walked in to the bridal procession from The Sound of Music.

mynameisMrG · 11/05/2020 11:43

I walked down the aisle to 1000 years but the piano guys version. Didn’t realise when I first heard it that it was from twilight but it didn’t put me off. Still love that version

Giespeace · 11/05/2020 11:45

I went for laughs “Dear future husband” by Meghan Trainor, followed by blatant sloppiness “Can’t help falling in love with you” - Elvis of course. DH turned out to be more of a traditionalist than either of us realised so Elvis was really for him 🙈
We had The Great Escape theme tune for the signing and Lucky by the verve for our first dance. Elvis was the least I could concede to DH Grin

Giespeace · 11/05/2020 11:46

Lucky Man that was Blush

grumpyorange · 11/05/2020 11:49

@mynameisMrG I do live that version it's beautiful!

I walked in to the arrival of the queen of sheba

Pretty accurate Grin

bettertimesarecomingnow · 11/05/2020 11:52

Thousand years would be beautiful - it's my current fave and I have never watched twilight

I also like the john dunbar theme in strings (from dances with wolves)

scazlackabumdiyay · 11/05/2020 11:52

I walked in to Spring from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Still gives me a wonderful feeling!

MidsomerMum · 11/05/2020 11:54

Had traditional entrance, but we left to ‘Concerning Hobbits’ - we wanted to pick something from a film we loved and decided that was slightly more tasteful than the Jurassic Park theme!

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 11/05/2020 11:54

I walked in to Pachelbel's Canon in D. I wanted something traditionally bridal for that bit. All the other ceremony music was definitely very much non-traditional for weddings!

Melinda76 · 11/05/2020 11:54

I walked in to Mascagni Intermezzo which my father suggested and we loved it.

1990shopefulftm · 11/05/2020 11:55

Glasgow love song from love actually

Ineedanamechangeagain · 11/05/2020 11:56

We were married 10 years ago, but I walked down the aisle to Amazing Grace (My chains have gone version) - my best friend sang it for us at the venue.
I might choose a Sigur Ros track if I was to do it again, maybe Staralfur...

FairyDogMother11 · 11/05/2020 12:00

I walked in to Pachelbel's Canon in D and out to "A Million Dreams" from the Greatest Showman, but it was a beautiful orchestral version. We signed the register to "From This Moment" by Shania Twain but again it was orchestral, in my mind they had to match! I was very specific about the versions of the songs which surprised me, I wanted to be romantic but not cheesy Grin so I say pick whatever makes you happy, I wouldn't have associated that song with Twilight Smile

mynameisMrG · 11/05/2020 12:01

Brilliant @Giespeace ! We walked back down the aisle to the theme from superman 🤣

MrsHa · 11/05/2020 12:02

I walked in to a acoustic version of Heart and Soul by Twin Atlantic (not very well know but is about sex Wink ) had Hall and Oates You Make Me Feel to sign to and Madness It Must Be Love to walk out to. George Ezra Shotgun as first dance. Not traditional at all.

But the main advice I give is people really don't remember any of them for the most part. I was stressing about mine, but then me and DH tried to remember what his step sister had and realised that we had no idea so just chose songs that meant something to us.

nevermorelenore · 11/05/2020 12:03

The only right answer is to pull a Charlene from Neighbours and walk down the aisle to Suddenly.

Blondephantom · 11/05/2020 12:03

Anthem Lights do a beautiful wedding song mash up. It includes Thousand years, marry me, God bless the broken road and all of me.

A cover version of Thousand years might sound totally different so might be worth exploring that option.

HallowsandHorcruxes · 11/05/2020 12:03

I walked down the aisle to 'Baby I'm Yours' by Arctic Monkeys and also had 'Friday, I'm in Love' by The Cure afterwards.

Those and our first dance song bring back the best memories of the day Smile

happymummy12345 · 11/05/2020 12:05

I had here comes the bride as I wanted it traditional
