Currently struggling to find a tidal entrance song which is acceptable and not cringe!

I really like thousand years but worry it will be associated with Twilight!!

AIBU to ask what your bridal entrance song was!

First dance was ‘Will You’ by Hazel O Connor

gillys · 11/05/2020 20:20

I walked down the aisle to chi mai by ennio morricone.
First dance was, this guy's in love with you by Burt Bacharach.

TheFlis12345 · 11/05/2020 20:24

Another one who had the Piano Guys version of A Thousand Years. I have always loved that song, the lyrics were fitting for us and when I was looking for a track, I read about that version on a wedding forum and as soon as I played it, burst into tears. Sent it to my maid of honour and she did the same so it was a no brainer.

I will confess to being a bit of a Twilight fan personally but only one guest picked up on where it was from because she loves the films! Everyone else just thought it was a lovely piece of classical music.

DrMaryMalone · 11/05/2020 20:24

We were lucky to have an amazing church organist so:

Walked in to Arrival of the Queen of Sheba
Signed the register to Pachabels Canon
Walked out to Widors Toccata

First dance was You're in my heart by Rod Stewart
Danced with my Dad to Brown eyed girl
Last dances were Never Forget by take that and Scottish traditional Loch Lomond by Runrig

monty09 · 11/05/2020 20:25

@Blondephantom I was going to suggest that song it's absolutely beautiful and I'm not even married.

Elsiebear90 · 11/05/2020 20:26

Will be walking down the aisle to Ludovico Einaudi- I Giorni, first dance will be a cover of You’re my best friend (Queen), by a group called The Once. First time we heard it was at our engagement meal, the lead singer is a woman and sings about a woman, so as a same sex couple it means a lot to us.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 11/05/2020 20:26

Walked down the aisle to air on a G string, had classical music in the background for the signing of the register, walked out to stevie wonder signed, sealed, delivered. First dance was Eric Clapton's wonderful tonight

TheFlis12345 · 11/05/2020 20:28

Air on a G was my backup! Beautiful piece of music.

Mehmehmeh19 · 11/05/2020 20:28

I walked down to small bones by the courteeners perfect song for us!

Queenoftheashes · 11/05/2020 20:34

No fucker will propose to me but when they do I want this from Star Trek into darkness

Bride entrance at 1 m 50 s Preceded by pachelbel’s canon. This is probably why he won’t propose
IncorrigibleTitmouse · 11/05/2020 20:51

Walked in to the acoustic version of Every Thug Needs a Lady by Alkaline Trio. We walked down the aisle together because I couldn’t bear the idea of all those people gawking at me walking on my own! Blush Then went back up the aisle together to 25 to Life by Masked Intruder. Not to everyone’s taste but we love both!

QueenofallIsee · 11/05/2020 20:52

Walked in to ‘Better Together’ by Jack Johnson

Walked out to ‘Best day of my life’ by American Authors

QueenofallIsee · 11/05/2020 20:53

Oh and the first dance was The Lumineers ‘Ho Hey’

Whattodowhattodooo · 11/05/2020 21:19

I had Heart Of A King (instrumental) from Man in the iron mask as I walked in. Sounds awful, but I had the flute playing bit..(beautiful) . Not the full blown stand up, cymbals crashing, drums rumbling, put your hands on you heart moment!! 😂

We walked out to Etta James "At Last" 😊

Whattodowhattodooo · 11/05/2020 21:22

Ooh first dance was If I ain't got you Alicia Keys, followed by Friends theme to get everyone up and dance! Bloody worked too!

Flixsfoilball · 11/05/2020 21:30

We are planning 'could you be the one' by the stereophonics in and 'you and I' by Tom walker on the way back out. I've we ever bloody get married that is 🤦‍♀️

Punkyfish3000 · 11/05/2020 21:30

When I get married my entrance and exit music will be (respectively):

  • Here Comes The Bride from Lohengrin (Richard Wagner)
  • The Wedding March from A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Felix Mendelssohn)

Haven’t picked first dance song as of yet

Punkyfish3000 · 11/05/2020 21:32

PS. Register signing music is John Rutter’s arrangement of For the Beauty of the Earth (sung by the church choir after Holy Communion)

Clevs · 11/05/2020 21:34

My entrance song was Greatest Day by Take That.

Liskee · 11/05/2020 21:34

Down the aisle to The Beatles Here Comes the Sun and out to the theme tune from Jurassic Park Grin

Flixsfoilball · 11/05/2020 21:35

Just realised how fitting the lyrics at the start of the Tom Walker song are, now we have had to postpone our wedding for 9 months due to covid

Let's get drunk
I'll pour my heart out through my mouth
This year's been hard for us no doubt
Let's raise a glass to a better one
And all the things that we've overcome
Are bring home to us 'cause
Me and you we can hold this out
Only you understand how I'm feeling now yeah
