I really like Meghan Markle and I admire her for carving her own way and being a feminist in her choices. I like that she waited after the birth for photos and spoke up about the metoo movement etc.

As much as I like Duchess of Cambridge, I don’t think she does anything to advance women. She seems to do what is expected of her which people love but which I find awful. She has a responsibility as a role model for young women but yet Seems to be the perfect, painfully thin, upper class wife that does as she is told, rarely speaks and is every sexist, wealthy, white man’s dream.

I’m a little lost as to why people seem to be pro Kate and anti Meghan. Is it because Kate is what all middle class women aspire to be in England. Doing as one is told ? Being a softly spoken English lady that wears tweed and frolics in the country while her husband is on a boys ski trip etc etc

I love the school of feminism that says if you declare yourself a feminist you can make as many misogynist comments as you like and that focuses solely on putting women against each other. Remind me again was it Weinstein or incels that popularised it?

@LaurieMarlow Harry was like the village idiot previously. He got drunk, acted a twat and generally was ridiculously. He was called out about it in the press though.
He seems to be acting very “woke” now, but not following his own rhetoric which is irritating.

@LaurieMarlow yes William did do that, he also got torn apart in the press and social media for doing just that. That’s exactly my point, ALL of the royals get a lot of bad press.

Before she got pregnant and then left the royal family (see it’s called Megxit, again all her fault), people were still being negative about her, picking every little thing she did apart. How do you explain this attitude towards her before she was even a royal and expected to follow certain traditions and protocols? This has been going on for years, it cannot be blamed on very recent events.

People are allowed to dislike Meghan (and Harry) without being racist.

The press are scum who hound people in the public eye to a disgusting degree. They drive celebrities to depression, addiction, suicide.

That is in no doubt.

However, it’s ok to not like Harry and Meghan based on their behaviour and how they present themselves, disliking them doesn’t make you a racist.

A lot of it (particularly from the tabloids now villifying him) had a distinct whiff of ‘our cheeky Harry, not the PC type, naughty boy’ tone about it.
