To let you know I've just discovered thre best sandwich filling ever?

I've always loved crispy fried onions in a sandwich with butter and soft bread and I also love salad cream in a sandwich, usually with cheese.

I wasn't hungry enough for one of each and couldn't decide between the 2 fillings, so I put both the onions and the salad cream in the one sandwich.

Wow!😲

It was amazing.

I'd think you'd need to eat it as soon as it's made so the crispy onions don't go soft, but it's well worth trying 😋

Just remembered another (in a baguette) had in Barcelona, Morocco and Tunisia

Harissa spread on the baguette, tuna, salad of peppers, capers, onions and tomatoes finely chopped In olive and lots of lemon, chopped olives and then chips on top

All flavours are experienced it’s amazing

Also the Vietnamese baguette rolls are amazing too

One of my favourite sandwiches to have is Corned Beef and Beetroot. Has to be white bread with salted butter.

Ive just made a great sandwich... hummus and grated cheese!

Also, sorry but meat in a sandwich is all kinds of gross!! I’m not vegetarian but meat doesn’t belong in a sandwich.

White bread, generous butter, cheese and onion crisps squished in the sandwich with a satisfying crunch.

If you're not vegetarian, how can you not like meat + bread?! Are you talking about leftover roast meat, or bacon/ sausage, or ham/ tongue? Bc they're all very different

Just the smell of a bacon sandwich gets me going. Has to be British bacon, though. Will not buy the Danish stuff, they don't treat their pigs very well and has a lot of water. Strange that the best supermarket to buy British bacon is LIDL, the British supermarkets all promote Danish. Why?

It’s just not right, sorry! Any/ all meat is wrong in a sandwich. Ham, for example, is better just with some mustard and a little salad surely? Sandwiches are ruined by meat for me.

This is gonna sound weird but go with it. Bread, houmous, waffles, halloumi, little bit of salad if you want to feel better about yourself.

It is honestly glorious. Such a weird combo and yet it works!

Thinly sliced rare roast beef with hot horseradish with fresh lettuce and tomato and a touch of mayo on brown is a delicacy not to be sniffed at, @Raella50!

A stilton and horseradish toastie just cannot be beaten. I was introduced to it by an old boyfriend. It was worth the heartbreak (he dumped me for my friend) to have been introduced to that flavour combination.

It's not a proper sandwich without meat in it...

Husband has today mixed curry sauce and ketchup and it’s a taste sensation

White bread with egg mayonnaise and a bag of walkers crisps...lovely!!

Mashed potato with salad cream on white bread.
Dairylea cheese with smokey bacon crisps.
Love both on white bread. My favourite has got to be a chip butty though.

There are two fine sandwiches on this earth..

1 - wafer thin ham (not naice ham, doesnt work), crisp lettuce and an even mix of HP fruity sauce and mayo, on toast.

2 - a Waitrose sun dried tomato and garlic flatbread, cooked so its still soft... with their spanish style vegan whirly sausages, roasted cherry tomatoes and smoked hummous, fold in half, cut that in half, give half to a friend (no ok, just eat the other half)... eat. Then take a shower, it's messy.

All other sandwiches are at best, acceptable, but not excellent.

Ham sandwiches with tartar sauce. Yum!
Pastrami sandwiches with sliced sweet gherkins. Double yum!

Some of you are being V unreasonable! Salad cream is dis-gus-ting 🤮🤢

Toast, butter, marmite & Avocado on granary

Fish fingers, Mayo, capers & lettuce on white

Tuna, spring onions, capers, mayo on any bread

Thick white crusty bread, butter, smoked mackerel & sliced gherkins

Mmmmmmmmmm!!
