To let you know I've just discovered thre best sandwich filling ever?

I've always loved crispy fried onions in a sandwich with butter and soft bread and I also love salad cream in a sandwich, usually with cheese.

I wasn't hungry enough for one of each and couldn't decide between the 2 fillings, so I put both the onions and the salad cream in the one sandwich.

Wow!😲

It was amazing.

I'd think you'd need to eat it as soon as it's made so the crispy onions don't go soft, but it's well worth trying 😋

Wow, who would have thought there were so many new sandwich fillings, plenty for me to try. I hadn't had salad cream for years, then I went to a friend's house (pre lockdown) and she served it with new potatoes. I had forgotten how good its tang is. Sandwich spread I also retried recently, but was disappointed. Too vinegary. The best sandwich spread was cucumber sandwich spread, but that doesnt seem to exist in the UK any longer.

Does anyone remember Toast Toppers? There was a mushroom one that was the business.

Ds likes salami and brown sauce sandwiches.

I like tomato, cheese and hard boiled egg in a crunchy half baguette.

My fave is a boxing day bread sauce toasted sandwich with salted butter! Has to be my mum's bread sauce (Delia's recipe). It's an annual treat

I'm veggie and like walnut bread, vegan butter, rocket, lettuce, tomato, sliced carrot, pickle, red cabbage and salad cream

Cheese,apple and honey sandwiches. Yay!

I like to lightly toast white bread and slice mature cheddar cheese and cucumber and add brown sauce for the filling. HP brown sauce goes so well with cucumber and cheese.

Also, cream cheese, double Gloucester and tomato sandwich, dipped in tomato soup.

Try multigrain bread, sliced banana and a sprinkle of Demerara sugar. It’s all about texture as well as flavour.

Visiting an Irish aunt, she asked if we liked tuna and cheese sandwiches,. I assumed she’d make some of each but they were on the same sandwich. How odd I thought, but they were bloody lovely!

Raspberry Jam, cheese and peanut butter in white bread ahhhhh

My favourite is streaky bacon, brie and maple syrup. I need one now 😊

This started off as a jacket potato filling, grated cheddar and double Gloucester mixed with mayo and a dollop of wholegrain mustard. It needs to be on thick white bread preferably from a bloomer loaf that you've cut yourself.

Peanut butter on one slice of bread (of your choice), cream cheese on the other slice, and a slice of ham in the middle. Haven't tried it on toast, that might be lunch tomorrow.

There is nothing that can’t be improved twenty fold by putting it between bread. I love all sandwiches. Absolutely all (although I’d prefer no mayonnaise unless it’s egg or tuna mayonnaise)

Cream cheese and marmite toast or is pretty delicious. I always put mushroom, tomato and sometimes even cucumber in it too. Didn’t think toasted cuc would be any good but it really is.

God I’m so hungry now I’ve thought of sandwiches.

Always has to be cheese, pickled onions and salt and vinegar crisps, bloody lovely
