To feel awful for Boris

A few people I know have said some awful things like ‘it serves him right’

I didn’t vote conservative, and to be honest I’ve never been a big fan of BJ himself.. but Christ do I feel awful for the poor man.

He must have thought it was going to be relatively easy, brexit was almost over and we just had to get through the last little bit and then the world fell into one of the biggest disasters in recent history...

He’s got to balance trying to save a big percentage of the population with making sure they have an economy to return to when this is over, he’s got to pull unprecedented amounts of money from thin air to support everyone through this time, everyone thinks they can do a better job and then to top it off he catches the virus himself and ends up hospitalised!

He just can’t catch a break! Whether you like him or not surely I’m not being unreasonable in feeling pretty bad for the guy?

YABVVVVVVVVVVU

... and since you had to ask I don't have the energy to even explain.

GroundHogDay01 · 15/04/2020 07:11

I do feel bad for him, but the damage his party has done to the NHS by reducing funds unfortunately does not get much sympathy but on a personal level I do feel bad for him

I feel awful for the thousands of people who will needlessly die because of his incompetence.

Theduchessstill · 15/04/2020 07:12

Reverse? Because surely no one is stupid enough to think like this.

Seriouslyastounded · 15/04/2020 07:13

groundhogday01

Since when has pumping billions more each year into the NHS ‘reducing funds’?

Every year the amount gets bigger. Can you explain?

Londubh · 15/04/2020 07:13

I can only assume this is a joke.

Figgygal · 15/04/2020 07:13

Not a chance
Wouldn’t wish Covid on anyone but he’s an idiot who was praising himself for shaking hands with people in a Covid ward
He’s an architect of brexit and the divisions this country has faced and will continue to
He’s a total shit who has cost lives throughout this situation by lack of response
Can’t wait to see the back of him

Monty27 · 15/04/2020 07:14

Grin Grin
I have zero sympathy I'm afraid. The buffoon has blood on his hands. He couldn't organise a tea trolley for ordinary people. Sick people. The electorate. Sit up and observe.
Underfunding in this country is a scandal 😠

Seriouslyastounded · 15/04/2020 07:14

Oh and if the left want to keep banging on about PPE, start blaming the NHS managers whose job it actually is

WendyImHome · 15/04/2020 07:14

It’s his job

Random18 · 15/04/2020 07:15

He lied and cheated and pulled every dirty trick to get the job he wanted.

He even supported Brexit as he thought it would get him the job.

In some way you reap what you sow. If it wasn't for so many people dying and all the heartbreak we still have to face i would say hell mend him.

Instead I wish him the best and pray he starts getting it right as the lives of the people I love are depending on him.

Theduchessstill · 15/04/2020 07:16

Haha - someone claims to feel sorry for the PM because he has to, you know, deal with stuff, stuff that's harder to deal with because of shit decisions he made, but it's the left who are shit? Right.

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 15/04/2020 07:17

Well no one forced him to take this job, did they.

Theduchessstill · 15/04/2020 07:17

The left who are sheep

Selmaselma · 15/04/2020 07:18

You must be joking.

GroundHogDay01 · 15/04/2020 07:19

@Seriouslyastounded conservative government has always under funded the NHS. Since in power they reduced the resources available. I do believe Boris cheered when nurses were refused a pay rise too. This is something people will not get over lightly

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 15/04/2020 07:20

No sympathy from me at all. He has none for us.

Fallsballs · 15/04/2020 07:20

Wise up OP and think of something original to write.

joystir59 · 15/04/2020 07:21

I feel awful for everyone having to work without adequate PPE, risking their lives to look after the sick. If it were a war do you think there would be a lack of guns? This virus kills the elderly, and guess what? The elderly are a drain on the public purse. This government hates public spending.

countrygirl99 · 15/04/2020 07:21

seriouslyastounded lolling at you criticising polarised views. Have you ever read the parable about the mote and the beam?

Mlou32 · 15/04/2020 07:21

You'll never get a sensible answer here op. People are too blindsided by their own personal politics to be able to think in an unbiased manner.

Bluewater1 · 15/04/2020 07:22

I feel very sad for him as a person because he was very ill with Covid whilst his partner is pregnant and also had Covid. It must have been terrifying.
In terms of politics, I feel that he used Brexit to further his own career with no care whatsoever about the country.
In terms of leading the country during a pandemic and unprecedented times. Whatever decisions are made during this period he will go down in history because he happened to be PM at this time and because he ended up ill enough to be in intensive care. I wouldn't want his job.

Fallsballs · 15/04/2020 07:22

Not true Mlou32
Just because people disagree doesn’t mean they are ‘blindsided’.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 15/04/2020 07:23

Just imagine the time and energy that could have been applied to COVID 19 at the end of last year/beginning of this - if only the Tory government hadn't been obsessed with Brexit and an election.
